Congratulations again to Chyanne! It's a cool little rig and we all know these older Yotas are pretty much indestructible. About the 4x4 issues I would guess it's most likely the actuator on the transfer case. Those like to go out on every make when they get older. Maybe it's just a faulty connector on the actuator. I hope it's an easy fix for you!
Good find I was looking for one a few months back but couldn't find one in my price range so I bought my first car after 16yrs of having 4X4's Enjoy your Yoda👍😎
This one just popped up and we jumped at it because of the cost. Hopefully it’s not a lemon and we got a good deal. Enjoy saving on gas, lol! What ya get?
@AdventureOverland2023 The Landcruiser you's found is what me and countless others were wanting and looking for. Im happy for you's. In my opinion even if you have to put a few thou into it in the first year I still think you ...or Chyanne got herself a good deal and a great ride. Unlike American made trucks there's a reason why Toyota's maintain a high resale value (Drive-Train) When I was looking for a 4-Runner a few months ago, 3rd generation ones I seen listed on average had roughly 400,000+Km on them and were all in the $6k range and yeah nice ones like that when I phoned were gone they sold quickly. What did I buy you ask? well after some serious thought and research & also considering the price of gas which btw here on the Island is currently $1.66L / $6.68-Gallon I found a beautiful 2-owner, well maintained, garage kept, low kilometer 2005 Toyota Echo 1.5L auto. with only 158,000KM. near mint vond. Based on my research this Toyota could be driven up to a million miles Est. fuel economy is 5.4L/100KM. With a 11.9-G or 45-Liter fuel tank I get anywhere between 333 to 428 miles per tank. With my F-150 I was spending up to $600 a month on fuel so far with the Echo I've spent roughly $200 a month. I now find myself taking spontaneous road trips and ts a pleasure to drive ..oh yeah before buying it they just had the front brakes done, new rotors & pads plus a wheel alignment and on my request they had the snow tires put on which were on another set of rims. Insurance is only &125/month. I still have my Harley which is funny because it has a 1340cc (88ci) which means they are both close displacement wise 'LoL' Outa curiosity how much is gas in Chill-E-WhacK?
We thought about not spending money on a 4x4 and to invest in a smaller fuel efficient vehicle. Chyanne worked a lot of long hours, double shifts etc, and she deserves to get the vehicle she wants. To be honest, we thought that we wouldn’t be able to afford a 4Runner as the price is so high for a good one and we were looking at the Cherokee. When this one popped up we jumped on it. The Toyota is definitely better on fuel than the old Denali, just not as comfortable, lol. Having the ability to just jump in and go for a drive and not worry about how much gas I’m wasting is big nowadays. Gas has been staying pretty consistent, about $1.58.
Looks to be in really good shape. I like the fact that you can grease the moving parts on the after market parts and easy to got to by the looks of it.
@ there won’t be any shortage of aftermarket options to swap it. Have you checked the switch that’s on the front differential to see if that fixes your 4x4 problem? It’s a common issue and it’s really inexpensive. It’s worth a try if you ask me. This is the part # OEM Transfer Indicator Switch for TOYOTA 84222-12010
Definitely a good choice. I just picked one up fully modded for 6K great condition. The previous owner already did the timing belt swab and water pump change and it was just screaming deal.
Right on! This one was pretty well cared for too. Just got a few things done to it last week, and all that is left to fix is the 4x4 issue. If that is under $1000, including the price we paid we’ve spent about $6500 total. Not sure where you’re from but these are going for $8-9000 on Marketplace here in BC.
@@AdventureOverland2023funny I was looking for ramp rock on TH-cam to being my runner, and I found your video. Then this one came on the suggestions. Now I watched the whole video of the runner, I’m jealous of the silver interior, my favourite option in the third Gen, I have the wooden one. That was a great purchase, like you said, rust buckets in BC at that price range.
Welcome to the Toyota family Chyanne!!!
Super excited for your both!
Walt says he loves the commercial lol and you guys!
Cheers
Love you too guys!

Nice looking rig. You got a good deal for what You paid for it. Great off Road vehicle as well
Hey Justin, hopefully we did get a deal and it’s not some catastrophic…. Thanks for watching buddy.
@AdventureOverland2023 with the Sr5 they are a fairly reliable motor. Best part is from what I know parts are still a dime a dozen.
Woohoo im here !
Appreciate your support Jeremy
Those are great vehicles,, lots of aftermarket accessories,, congrats on your new ride 😊

Looks like it's going to be an awesome vehicle when you get it fixed up the you want, good deal on the price.
We hope so. We’ve always liked the 4Runners, so hopefully this one is an easy fix and we can hit the trails.
Looks to be in really good shape. I like the fact that you can grease the moving parts on the after market parts and easy to got to by the looks of it.
Is that a Canada version front bumper?
Didn’t know there was a difference. Not a big fan of how it looks, but hopefully swapping it out this spring for an aftermarket one.

@@crodz530 it’s basically just been sitting. Too busy this month to even look at it? But I’ll definitely take a look and I appreciate the tip.
Whipsaw 2025? 😅
Oh you bet!
@@AdventureOverland2023 good buy those trucks were awesome. Just stay on the timing belt replacement schedule and that engine will last a lifetime
We have some of the records and looks like it was replaced in 2018, so hopefully we have some time w it before it needs that replaced again.
I love my 3rd Gen! I have a '98. That sport hood is clean!
It’s our first Yota and super stoked with all the upgrades we can do. Ya, we love the hood.

i'vw never seen that bumper piece
Several people have mentioned that. What’s different about it?
Nice! I just got a 00 SR5 for 3600 in Van… 490k kms

Never seen a bumper like that
Someone else said that too. I never paid enough attention to other 4 Runners to notice.
