I have to have my hard candy 🍬. What's your vice on the trail?
Snickers! Brach's Butterscotch is primo. too! Werther's is great, also.
Just found your video after lots of searching for this specific info on TH-cam. You’re video is one of the only ones I’ve watched that has been the most helpful so far. My husband and I are planing on taking the SOBO route and I’ve been hunting for a video on the hike length, which resupply stops to take, and what 5 days of meals looks like in a bear can. Also your info on VVR SOOOOO helpful! We will be keeping an eye on that. And how you packed your resupply boxes, again so extremely helpful. Thank you so much for this post. This will be our first major hike and getting all this information is a little overwhelming, this video made it less stressful. Thank you!
There should be a few videos in that playlist. Supplies, food, shoes, etc. Did you find all of them? I so glad they were such a big help to you. Check out the hike I did and how it ended for me (5 videos).
Awesome video! I pity the hikers that are not as organized and thoughtful as you are. Bless you!🙏 Have fun, and have a great trip!!
It seems more like organized chaos at this point. 😂 Thank you for the blessing and support!
Wow that is a heavy bucket. I hope to see you on the trail. I will be with a volunteer PCTA group out of Reds starting on 8/2. After that project I am hiking south to Cottonwood Pass. Happy Trails!
I'm on my way home. Altitude sickness something fierce. Sorry I missed you. Enjoy your hike.
@@JRHikes sorry to hear that. I am carrying little cans of pure oxygen just in case.
I didn't know that was an option
@@JRHikes they have them on Amazon. O2 Blasts. They have them on Amazon. My grandson and I tried them out last week. As soon as we got to 8000 feet we jumped out of the truck and started running uphill till we couldn't breath. After 8 puffs my breathing was back to normal. Also I make my own hydration drink with beet powder which opens your epithelial cells to allow more blood flow. Well, you are all set for next year. I am spending a week before my hike working with the PCTA at altitude. I hope this works cause I'm 70.
Thank you so much for this information. Very helpful. Please, be safe and happy hiking
I am going to hike into VVR just to eat some non trail food.
That was my plan as well and then resupply at MTR.
Where do you get the little bags? I am doing a section hike of the AT this fall and those will come in handy.
If you are referring to the 3" x 4" baggies?
amzn.to/3BfThJ1
I use them for all kinds of things...like a wallet, pills, supplement powder, batteries, the list goes on...
How did you manage to fit your 10 day and your buddies 10 day resupply to MTR in one bucket? I struggled to get my own 8 day resupply. I defiantly could have fit 10 days but not 20.
I literally had to sit another bucket on top of his and sit on that bucket to compress his food. LOL same with mine will putting the lid one. KNOW THIS...not one piece of food was left out. LOL.
No fruit? Maybe think about some vitamins.
There is amazing grass in there which is a fruit/vegetable super food. And also I have vitamins in another bag in my pack.
Hikers eat like college students.
You got that right. Haha. Light weight and full of calories.
Thanks for watching! LOL
