We all know Carlos Sainz prefers to work with a team that listens to their drivers input. He gained valuable experience at McLaren and cherished the supportive environment there. However, Alpine lacks this crucial aspect.
I think Williams was the best of the 3. I really think Mercedes should have taken him, but it makes you wonder if they don’t want a threat to George. There’s also the potential to lose Kimi if they don’t get him in a seat somewhere. And without Williams being their b-team anymore they no longer have other options. But there’s no way on earth Red Bull has the same drivers in 2 years time, and Merc, Ferrari, McLaren and Aston will surely have atleast 1 change between them, so maybe he’s there to pick up a piece of the pie. Or even a dark horse like Alpine or Audi he could even jump onto those teams then.
He will definitely regret which then later will strangle him to move up the order as he can't show anything if he's driving in the bottom last, his will be a same fate as Albon, no top team will consider Albon same fate for Sainz also,....
The difference is he wasn’t dropped for god awful performances. And wasn’t dropped for a 1 race winner, he was dropped for the most successful driver in history. Red Bull I get, you don’t wanna upset Max. I think Mercedes not wanting him is odd. It’s either they don’t want a threat to George or want to get Kimi in before he’s potentially lost. There was some reports they offered him a 1 year deal, but that doesn’t really help him when he needs a surefire home with the impending regulations. But things will change for Merc, RB and even Ferrari, McLaren, Aston eventually, maybe Carlos will be in a better place to grab them next time.
