This is why I am so happy that some brands really rely on retro shoes because these types of foams cause me immense foot pain after a brief length of ownership, like 4-6 weeks and that's all.
I love the technical aspects of the shoes we use all the time (In my case for volleyball). Thanks to you, I'm now considering these aspects when purchasing, and playing on my shoes! In my case, I really love Boom foam, whether it's full lenght, or combined with say, Light Foam Plus. Wade brand is having a golden era right now IMO. Thank you for the video, Doctor Zach. Cheers! 🙌
Would love to see you do a review of the Nike retro series like the Zoom Vomero 5 or even the Nike Pegasus 2k5 and why they’re bringing back old shoes with modern foams
Overall, boom is definitely better than zoomx, especially when comparing the shoes themselves. But I think due to that higher weight/density, the boom foam does struggle with shock absorption, something I've experienced with my wow10s. Hope nike can either make a better zoomx shoe or lining can make their shoes have both bounce & cushion
A couple days ago i was looking into the lining rouge rabbit pro 6 (lining running shoe) and comparing it to nike invincible run 3. It was a battle of boom vs ZoomX as well. Nice to see a video relating to that search
I like that visual of twisting the wow-10 vs Nike Gt Cut 3.. Really goes to show how WoW put care into integrating the tech properly for the demands of the sport. While Nike, quite frankly, takes the cheap way out and hopes you'll see "ZoomX" and just buy.
Really interested to see what's going to happen with the next Jordans. They're supposed have Zoomx, Zoom Air, and also look more containing and hopefully have a shank. Still wild they didn't put a shank in the GT Cut 3.
I like this video. Quite interesting take on both foams. Boom is better foam in the short term and eva is long term better. But for me the best cushion setup is zoom. No foam setup can top it in my opinion.
I honestly was pissed bc these shoes made me actually WANT to run in them and they felt like a running shoe when I tried them on in the store! (which is what I've been elusively chasing for the past 30 years having come from a running background and transitioning into a ball player.) That price tag of $203 after tax here in America was no easy swallow either but I felt good with my purchase when I started running and jumping again with the ability to keep up and in some cases actually swat people half my age again (sometimes AFTER the ball had left their hand!) especially in my condition being a 50 YO with both hips totally replaced 9 years ago! ... But THEN came the extreme disappointment when the shoes length became too long after a short period of about a week to two weeks break in period! I literally gave the shoes away to a highschool kid after a couple of months of not being able to use them!
Awesome video! Love these comparison videos. Now I’d really like to see your analysis and comparison of adidas’ superfoam, Lightstrike Pro! It’s going to appear on Donovan Mitchell’s next signature shoe don issue 6.
Ughhhh haha I don’t really have one at the moment just what I have laying around usually or what I’m reviewing - you’d be surprised how little pairs of shoes I own
thanks for the comparison video. i'm actually in the market for new hoop shoes and deciding between the gt cut 3 or wow all city. i like the look of 11 v2 vs 12 but wondering if the 12 v2 will look like the 11 v2
Awesome video! It was super informative. Have you heard of Serious Player Only? They have a brand-new mid top shoe called the game 1. Might be pretty interesting to tear down
Hey are the shirts on your website also champion? I saw the logo on your sleeve and was wanting to pick up a 10 seconds highest grit sandpaper design and will spend more if the LS is champion if the t-shirt isnt
Volleyball player here, shock absorption typically comes from the fit of the shoe. Shoes like mb.2 are very good for shock absorption, but I would not recommend since there are no outrigger. Find a shoe based on your foot type, and look for a middle ground shoe, not a shoe that’s based on full shock absorbing capabilites
Nike charge you premium for minimal debut of zoomX into basketball, thats how they do business. Nike success on the GT CUT 1 became a double-edge thing, you can’t have definitive best shoes for a category, that means you cant make customers buy more different shoes. Whereas Lining capitalise on that aspect, they just need to make the nike-dream products, Such as, zoomX max-out settings -> wade 10 But ultimately Nike always has the shoe- in case they lose too much in the market, That example would be the Ultraboost answer of nike, invincible run ZoomX
This is kinda a bad comparison if its an attempt at apples to apples. Nike uses Air Zoom for the purpose Boom is used for Li Ning. Zoom X is for softness, smooth ride and shock absorbency. Its lighter than Zoom Air and has softer feel
Hey… I’ve been studying your videos for maybe 12 hours total now. I decided that I’ll get a pair of Two Wxy V4’s, but I’d also like a more minimalist shoe. Assuming they’re the same price, would you prefer a Kobe 6/6 Protro, Rigorer AR1, or Sabrina 1?
Also if there’s any other good minimalist shoe contenders similar to the Kobe 6/protro besides the AR1 or Sabrina, I’d love to hear your recommendation. Thanks :)
Interesting "Pebax" pronunciation lol. First time I've heard it said that way. Have the running channels been saying it wrong this whole time? Dozens of channels call it Pee-bax 😂
the Nike zoom foam look like ankle breakers...not a good combo for a basketball player or anyone who has to go side to side.....sure they feel plush like Hokas but I don't even wear my Hokas when I play pickleball or softball because I feel like I am going to tip over
@FootDoctorZach - I'd be interested in a comparison of foams for the different major brands of shoes, including New Balance (9060), Adidas, Nike, Puma, Etc... I'd also really enjoy a comparative video of the most comfortable slides as summer is approaching. I hear great things re: Oofos, and wonder if they'd be good for my plantar fascitis.
ZoomX does feel really bouncy in the shoes I've tried on, but I don't think Nike is really pushing the innovation envelope anymore the way Li Ning/Wade are (except maybe the GT Jump). There's no excuse for the price of the GT Cut 3 that it doesn't have more packed under the hood. Just my 🪙🪙
FootDoctorZach. It is because a previous review of the WOW 10 for my daughter to play HS Volleyball. So thanks much. My only comment here, is the way you are saying PeBax. It is pronounced Pea-Backs. Not Peb, like pebble. Keep up the great work otherwise.

Will you review the SPO Player 1 Plus?
🤷♂️
Love this! I've wanted this comparison for a long time. Thank you!
Comparison is back! Btw there's a new version of Zion 3 would you test that?
In the mail

Love the breakdown! Doc, where do you see the next innovation moving to in regard to cushioning?

Can you do a comparison with New Balance's Fresh Foam next?
I bought the GT cut 3 but I weigh 62kg so I don't have any stability issues and as you said "it flies down the court like a gazelle."
lmk how long the cushion lasts😂

Just on time❤
Now, compare boost and boom foam
boost is history. while it was at the top when it first came out, the peba(x) foams have surpassed it
@@Ghgh335ownsstill would be dope if zach would make a vid
Just asking, when could you make another basketball shoe guide video?
It’ll come out around the NBA playoffs - they come out twice a year
Can you compare PEBA VS ETPU? ...zoom x / boom vs something like boost/ PWR RUN/ Freshfoam?
Want to see Lining’s new Feidian 4 Ultra, if possible. It’s very expensive, but the technology looks so cool and promising 😂
Did you get them from RunningXpert or lining’s website
Is Anta Nitroedge foam similar to both?
Really helpful videos!
Please try the serious player only game1 - would love to see the exploded view and the ergonomics 😊❤
Don't have boom and zoomx yet but I'll be able to try boom soon!
Wow is coming up with some solid formula for bball shoes.
Do you recommend any basketball shoes for tennis?
Awesome video! Love these comparison videos. Now I’d really like to see your analysis and comparison of adidas’ superfoam, Lightstrike Pro! It’s going to appear on Donovan Mitchell’s next signature shoe don issue 6.
I love lightstrike pro
@@FootDoctorZach do you love it more than boom and zoomx for basketball??
Please review the Li-Ning Ultalight 2025! That thing seems too good to be true!
this was an awesome video

Amazing comparison ! How much would you rate the WOW 10 for bounce and shock absorption out of 5
Same as the WOW AC 12
can you review the anta kai 1 please 😢
Can you do a review on the serious player 1 game1?
How about Underarmour Flow foam?
Hey are the shirts on your website also champion? I saw the logo on your sleeve and was wanting to pick up a 10 seconds highest grit sandpaper design and will spend more if the LS is champion if the t-shirt isnt
Yes I buy the shirts off of the same link as you would so if it’s on me it’s the same
Shall there be videos for the Hupercourt Supreme 2, Eclipsion 5, Clubhouse Pro, Axilus 3, and/or Revolt Pro 4.5? :o
wow... that spelling X__X
Hypercourt video is almost done and the 5’s are in the mail - the others we’ll see if I get them

the adidas boost is similar to the boom right ?
Nope. One is TPU one is PEBA
This is my kind of energy vampire content
Hi doc can you review the Adidas supernova rise?

review cj 3 please
Boom is 🔥🔥
IMO it’s very mid in the wow 10, extremely overhyped and kind of dead feeling. Usually hurts my feet when I wear the WOW 10
This is kinda a bad comparison if its an attempt at apples to apples. Nike uses Air Zoom for the purpose Boom is used for Li Ning. Zoom X is for softness, smooth ride and shock absorbency. Its lighter than Zoom Air and has softer feel

I realized after watching this video that I am a performance shoe junky. First step is to admit that I have a problem. I'm not there yet.

I’m probably saying it wrong tbh but at the same time 🤷♂️
the build quality of wow is prob to expensive for nike to stomach

Well yeah you should never wear Hokas for side to side sports in general or RIP
Yeah, never considered them although I do see people wear Hoka and wait to see if they tip over😮

wow
When you buy li ning they ask for your social security number
Basically BYD vs Tesla😂
nike is just lazy right now man. design and tech wise. Lining is really showing them up in everything ESPECIALLY in pricing.
