What a magnificent engineering. We had the 1980 FIAT 131 CL 1600cc 4 cylinder in line, and the 1965 FIAT 1800b 1800cc 6 cylinder in line. Those two cars made me love Italy 🇮🇹 and respect Italian engineering.
Dieu sait combien les firmes japonaises avaient copié a cette époque sur la technologie de fabrication automobile italienne surtout concernant la suspension arrière des voitures rapides
As a teenager in the 80s , I loved the 2 door 131 supermirafori 2000 TC specially in orange , not scene any model 131 in years wish I'd tried sourcing 1 in the 90s or 2000s when occasionally they popped up for sale.
These cars are underrated beauties. In future I'm definitely gonna add one to my car collection. We have a different name for this car in my country and it's "Murat 131". And this was an information you didn't need.
I owned one for a short time in NZ in the early 1990s. Possibly my favourite ever car (including the Alfa Giulia QV I just sold). This one looks fabulous. I had to sell mine because of rust, and now I live in Australia, they never had any here, so I have no real way to buy one again.
That car is incredible. When i was 14 15 my uncle has one of this and i learn to drive on it. Same color like this one but the difference was the back windows, they all were black.
The 131 is a beautiful and totally under rated Car. Walther Röhrl win the Rallye Monte Carlo with it. We had in the 80th a Fiat Dealer here and a mechanic there own a Brand new 131 Sport Walther Röhrl Edition in Grey metallic, i Loved to See this Beauty.
What a great car! We didn't two-door 131s in Australia; ours were all four-door versions and they weren't fitted with twin-cams, either. I'm not sure we even imported 131 station wagons.
I had a supermirafiori back in about 1980. I just loved it. It had the 1.6 twin cam. Not fast but very satisfying to drive and totally reliable. Unfortunately over here in scotland, they rusted in a few years. Id have one in a heartbeat, if it was possible. Yours is pretty much perfect. Great job.
My dad had the exact same car, 79 , green metallic, in Egypt. He was so proud of it and always bragged how rare it was being twin cam and all. Sold it in 2005
A friend of mine had exactly the same car, and I think I drove it the most. What a funny car to drive, but those twin Weber carburetors weren't easy to get right. The main issue with that car, and nearly all cars in the same era. They rustet, as Norway uses too much salt on the roads during winter time. No, I'm looking for a "new" one, and it might be exactly as in the video.
Ahhh bellissima!! Che ricordi!! My dad bought one, se non mi sbaglio, nel 1981. Mi sembra , se mi ricordo bene, per 6.5 M di (Italian) Lire. He requested it with the bigger than the standard 175 standard wheels it came with the “cerchi in lega” (alloy wheels) with some 205 Pirelli tyres. The stick shift was way shorter than the one in the video - it barely fit in my hand.. I remember 5th gear was “di potenza,” not “di riposo.” I was ten years old, maybe 11. I remember the smell of the all black interiors as if it were yesterday. My gawd, I was the happiest kid on the block for a long time. Altri tempi. Those 115 HP sembravano come 200.
I once owned a Mirafiori Sport( same car different name} , and the engine was superb. The problem was keeping up with the rapid spread of rust, which eventually won the battle.
Beatiful car, good look and this engine twin cam Lampredi 8v... 1995 cc (84x90mm). Carburetors or Iny.??Tengo un motor y transmisión de Fiat Tempra 2.0 8v 1993 (todavía versión carburador 34 34 en Sudamérica) con 100K kms reales guardado desde finales 1997. Bellissima la FIAT 131!! 🇮🇹👍
I had a 1980 131 sport in Fiat racing orange ; just an amazing handling and fast car in the day. Bought it in 86 for £900 and loved every minute !
Wow, beautifully restored. In this colour with those seats this is perfect
I owned one here in South Africa in 1979. Magical car with a lot of speed and balanced performance.
balanced.... try it on the snow ❄️😂

I still have my 81 Fiat 131 Brava here in the USA. It's a California car and it's completely rust free.
This car was my first driving experience and I love it!
Always liked these..👍
Rallied one like this for eight years in the eighties. Brilliant car and great fun. Very reliable. Wish I had it still
What a beautiful example! Great job guys 💪🏻😃
I had one. It had a single spoke steering wheel. Super stable. A true curve devourer!
My uncle had one when i was child in the 80s , an orange one ^^ iremember the engine's sound ^^it was very fast ! the era of huges carburators !

I drove a Tofas 124 in Turkey in 1985. It was a lot of fun, so I can imagine how the 131 was!
You couldn’t get a racing Murat or seat though.

SUCH a sweet car.
I saw one yesterday, North of Auckland, NZ.
Sounded good, but it was an orange wreck, and was sagging desperately in the rear.
Pity.
