Great story and wonderful restoration and upgrade! My mom had a car like this one in a bright yellow colour in the early eighties ... I remember sitting in the back seat with my brother and getting our feet wet because water entered through the bottom plate ... 🙂🙂

I once owned a Mirafiori Sport( same car different name} , and the engine was superb. The problem was keeping up with the rapid spread of rust, which eventually won the battle.

I had a supermirafiori back in about 1980. I just loved it. It had the 1.6 twin cam. Not fast but very satisfying to drive and totally reliable. Unfortunately over here in scotland, they rusted in a few years. Id have one in a heartbeat, if it was possible. Yours is pretty much perfect. Great job.

this was a very nice done kadett car , it looks good not a excessive transformation but nice and all kept simple and the needed change in parts only, i had a old kadett or ascona from mid or early 70´s with a 2.0L engine and was already very fast for the time roads quality that were incredible bad in Portugal, all the car was original but had large tires and was safe to drive, i should had kept it but i had others to fit in my 20 cars garage, in reality a agriculture garage to stop the machines after being used but had two and one become my car garage with a litle living-room for me and my friends at any hour of the night or early morning do the craziest things one can do before 30 years old with lot´s of music with high quality sound as powerfull ,had only a reel and cassette decks conected to a receiver with nice and powerfull speakers, we used to go up smoking coocked cocaine and down with 5 diferent types of the purest heroin it could be found ,400kms trip to Spain and all was good there, the 70´s were a cool decade, good cars, good drugs, good music , good food , good hi-fi components and girls there were more than one can count, a 117km´s trip to the nearest and beautifull beach that i still go there every year but nothing like till 2005, at 7 in the morning in summer time we would choose a car and always smoking everything it was a pleasure trip sometimes 5 days without going to bed or better without sleeping more than 10 minuts, sorry for the excessive coment but with age i relate the cars with what i done with them, all the cars had good sound systems, blaupunkt or pioneer and clarion too(japanese cars)
