You’re right about Jugram’s uncle. It’s implied he’s not just beating him, unfortunately. That “precious” line with Jugram’s dead looking eyes really hits it home. It’s no wonder he decided to join Yhwach. Not only did Jugram not have any personal reasons to want to kill Yhwach, he actually had a pretty good reason to since Yhwach killed his uncle during the conquest.

Bazz-B never really listened to Jugram in the first place, that's not a friend, that's someone you bring along to feel better about yourself and show off to.
Jugram literally told him not to call him Jugo all the way back when they met for the first time.
And to this day he still calls him that.
He didn't teach Jugram because he was a friend, he did it because it made him feel better about himself.
When Jugram was chosen instead of Bazz-B he was mad, even tho Jugram would have been close to fulfill "their" dream, but no he wanted to do it himself (never was it even implied that it was because he didn't like how "Jugo" put himself down).
Yes Bazz-B respected how Jugram put in even more effort than he did, but to claim he was a good friend is laughable.
Now lies all the fault with him?
No, Jugram for example could have elaborated more too. But just like with Bazz-B there were other circumstances (trauma for example and not wanting to be alone) why he didn't.
You can still like them, liking someone despite their flaws is what it's all about.

@@luck_adiante You can interpret Bazz however you want. You literally have friends to feel better about yourself. You dont become a depressed loner.
Both Bazz and Jugo were selfish. Jugo never really understood Bazz, Bazz never really completely understood Jugo. Not that Jugo even tried to talk with honesty since he was so busy being such a Yhwach's commander. Jugo never really tried to see the bigger picture. He lived in his little world where he just listened to Yhwach and that was all for him.
And I cant really fault Bazz for being a competitive guy. Thats just what human are. He felt bad seeing how Jugram was chosen by this quincy king as deemed more powerful when for such a long time, Bazz couldnt teach Jugo any quincy ability. Even I would feel petty. Just talk it out after the fact though. But alas, Yhwach already gaslit Bazz by saying Jugo was the reason Bazz felt powerful when infact Bazz was infact very talented even before meeting Jugo. Which also must have shifted some feelings inside Jugo too.
Just calling someone by their literal name doesnt mean shit. Bazz considered Jugo as much a friend as Jugo did to Bazz. Only difference is Bazz had everything to lose while Jugo simply won back to back. The balance, in fact, didnt feel balanced at all. This fight where Bazz died might be the first time Jugo has won but doesnt feel like winning at all.
But alas, Bazz never got the justice or closure he was asking for...so we got the classic shonen face off instead.

@@luck_adiante Your take on Bazz-B and Jugram's friendship is shallow and reductive, ignoring the nuances of their bond and the circumstances shaping their behavior. It’s clear you weren’t paying attention to the broader context.
Yes, Bazz-B called Jugram “Jugo” despite his initial protest, which wasn’t ideal. But here’s the thing: Jugram didn’t assert himself or bring it up again. Over time, it became a term of endearment. For Bazz-B, giving Jugram a nickname was his way of showing familiarity or closeness. Nothing in the story indicates Bazz-B intended to maliciously belittle Jugram-his consistent encouragement and care suggest the opposite. If this was truly a critical issue, Jugram had ample opportunity to address it. The nickname reflects their lack of communication, not malice or disrespect.
Claiming Bazz-B taught Jugram to feel better about himself is baseless. When Jugram doubted his abilities and called himself pathetic, Bazz-B consistently encouraged him, promising to teach him and make him stronger. That’s not someone seeking validation-it’s a friend lifting someone up. Bazz-B didn’t need to keep Jugram around if he didn’t care. His actions repeatedly showed genuine care and a desire to help Jugram grow, not selfishness. Literally from the moment they first met, Bazz-B’s actions made it clear that he wasn’t just some arrogant prodigy who looked down on others maliciously. Despite his talent and mocking words, he cared for those weaker than him. When he saw Jugram calling himself pathetic, he didn’t hesitate to step in. He took Jugram under his wing, not to boost his ego or feel superior, but because he genuinely wanted to help him grow and become a strong Quincy alongside him.
You’re focusing on Bazz-B’s jealousy when Jugram was chosen by Yhwach but ignoring the context. Bazz-B was a prodigy who was renowned for being a genius with lots of talent, only to be overlooked in favor of someone who, at the time, showed no visible talent in anything. Feeling frustrated or overlooked is human. But one moment of jealousy doesn’t erase years of friendship or make Bazz-B a bad friend. Even before Jugram was chosen, Bazz-B, despite his obsession with revenge, wanted to achieve it alongside Jugram. He couldn’t bring himself to leave Jugram behind, even when Jugram wouldn't aid in getting revenge against Yhwach.
Bazz and Jugram’s friendship was sincere but uneven and lacked communication. Bazz was the son of a lord, and Jugram was a commoner. Although Bazz meant well, the way he initiated the friendship reflected his noble upbringing. Meanwhile, Jugram, shaped by his abusive uncle, never gave input, always following and remaining passive. Jugram never opened up about his trauma, his feelings, or why he disliked being called “Jugo.” Their uneven friendship wasn’t Bazz-B’s fault-it was a product of circumstances beyond their control.
You’re cherry-picking isolated moments while ignoring the broader context and their circumstances. Next time, try paying closer attention to the story before making such surface-level claims.

That's one perception of Bazz B is that he looks down on Jugo. I never perceived it that way though. I always saw that as just his cocky personality and partially a front to be strong for Jugo to have someone to look up to.
Bazz B's perspective as he grows older is that he came to realize that he was the one being looked down on for real, while also feeling humiliation from Juha. Juha killed his family, and highlighted Jugo as the object of power to look down on him.
Jugo doesn't empathize or understand Bazz B's feelings. He only sees his own perspective, that Yuha saved him in multiple ways, by killing his abusive uncle, acknowledged his power, and made him feel wanted above all by calling for him to be his right hand man. Jugo puts Yuha first like his god, and though he still cares for Bazz thus refusing to fight him, his friendship comes secondary to his lord.

Something that I love pointing out: Yhwach was in posession of the Almighty during this time. So by all means, he could've altered reality at any point to just deal with Bazz-B. Behold! This is a book made into a YT comment!
I just loved this episode, for me, it's 10/10. Amazing how Jugo didn't need even 5 min to make us understand and feel for him, and not feel like it was just forced, the thing with his uncle just fitted the whole situation of his. And Bazz-b is also just amazing, I love how he isn't just that eccentric and aggressive character, he's sincere, he sees Jugo had such low self esteem and just said to him that he isn't trash but normal, as he was like the other kids his age, unable to control reishi, normal.
It's so good how they make us think Bazz is taking Jugo just because he sees him as a friend, as an equal, but at the end we see that he considered Jugo a friend, but he was also keeping Jugo at his side for his ego, he wanted such a "weak" person beside him because he wanted to feel the bigger person, so he resented how Ywhach just ignored him and said Jugo was going to be by his side, and also shattered Bazz ego by saying he wasn't a genius, it was just Jugo abilities making him stronger.
And more about Ywhach, I just noticed that he says the opposite of Jugo uncle. The uncle said "you're nothing without me..." And then abused him, and he probably did it to Jugo his whole life... Ywhach then said "I need you Jugram..." And it simply makes perfect on why Jugo would stay by his side... But at the same time, he didn't forget Bazz... When he doesn't let the other guy fight Bazz, he's basically protecting him, as he was his first friend...
And Bazz... He probably forgot about revenge after Ywhach took Jugo, and just used it as an excuse, because he wanted to die (a theory from me, I just feel that's it because of his last words.), I think he lost the will to live when he understood he actually wasn't at the level of the person he always thought was the weakest, and it meant he wasn't even close to scratch Ywhach, making him want to fight Jugo to die by his hands, because even though he was too egocentric, he still considered Jugo as his friend.
And yeah, Jugo felt for Bazz death. The way they didn't show his eyes fully, how his posture wasn't the same as in the beginning of the fight, how during the fight his first time showing emotions was something close to frustration, calling Bazz by his name and wanting to stop the fight so he didn't have to kill Bazz... And the poem at the end, with a illustration of Jugo eyes, seemingly sad, and the color that popped was blue, probably symbolizing tears...
Just amazing fucking episode, Jugo backstory just messed with my head, kinda know how it feels, and it's just great that it wasn't simply threw at our faces with "look how his uncle is touching him and saying things extremely strangely!", it was just some seconds and little words that showed what Jugo suffered on his uncle's hands. Definitely in my top 3 episodes of Bleach, 20/10.

Your gut instinct about Jugo's uncle is spot on. A LOT of people got the same impression about him and thankfully he's gone. Also both Bazz B and Jugo have gone through some crap. Kind of wished they could of sort through their ish with each other more healthy. We will see if Bazz B's death effected Jugo in some way or not. Peak reaction as well as a peak episode. Jugram is pretty reserved person, and he's just being thankful he made a friend w Bazz-B along the way, but Yhwach just gives Jugo a bigger purpose for his life so i kinda understand. Unfortunately Bazz-B until his very end never find the proper answer he longed for the longest time from Jugo himself, and Jugo just pushed him aside for all this time.

Yhwach killed the people Bazz-B loved the most while also killing the person Jugram hated the most, his abusive pedo uncle. Jugram never had a real reason to kill Yhwach (the opposite tbh), he just wanted to have someone to be with that being Bazz-B. Jugram felt that Bazz-B, his only friend, was just tolerating him while Yhwach, the most powerful person in the living world, said that he wanted and needed Jugram, that he had long been looking for him. Yhwach made Jugram feel special for the first time in his entire tragic life and that's why Jugram joined Yhwach, at least that's how I see it

[Thoughts][Hope you find something to combat you anxiety, I hate long periods of anxiety]
    - Haschwalth obviously dealt with physical abuse from his Uncle, but with the scene and voices here in the anime some (including myself) believe he’s also dealing with sexual abuse. The lines “You can’t do anything without me” and how twisted the Uncle’s voice became when he said “my precious Jugo” seems to suggest as much. This reality certainly plays a role in Haschwalth's need to feel useful or wanted without circumstance. We see this gave him a semblance of joy with both Bazz-B and Yhwach, people who appreciate and want him around for who he is, people who actually appreciate his worth.
    - We learned a few things from Kluboutside, for example Bazz-B’s and Haschwalths Schrifts are a reference to their friendship. Bazz-B has H and Haschwalth has B. We also know that those Schrifts are based on trauma’s and we see here that Bazz-B’s clan was burned down. (Additionally this battle was eluded two when Haschwalth was caught in Senjumaru’s Bankai)
    - As you said, What’s interesting about Bazz-B and Hascwalth is that though Bazz-B proclaims that the revenge is for both of them, we never hear it from Hascwalth himself. It’s likely that Hascwalth actually had little issue with what happened given that he was being abused, but he was simply trying to help the only living person he cared for however he could. Bazz-B made the mistake of not really understanding Jugram, for example Haschwalth said that he doesn't like being called Jugo butt Bazz-B kept calling him that regardless. I don't think Bazz-B is doing it from a bad place cause he does care for him, but he failed to actually respect his worth.
    - As noted by Mr.Tommo, a Bleach deep-dive content maker, “Worth” is a Major theme here between these two friends, even when Bazz-B believes that Haschwalth has no worth in regards to getting revenge he still chooses to keep him by his side, but the reality remains that he doesn’t need Haschwalth, but with Yhwach’s arrival Bazz-B is made aware that the roles were actually reversed. This realization hurts Bazz-B’s pride and the way he looks at Haschwalth is the nail in the coffin, Jugram already felt he had little purpose, the only link chaining them together was the actual Friendship. The issue is that Haschwalth has a warped understanding of worth and relationships due to his abuse, for him “worth” is to be wanted and needed and a relationship must result in something being gained. Regardless,In this moment Jugram began to feel that Bazz-B no longer wanted or needed him, and here you have Yhwach offering him the exact opposite.
    - Sidenote: Kubo tends to make a duo with this opposing dynamic every major arc, and they always get the chance to fight. Byakuya/Renji, Ulquiorra/Grimmjow, and Haschwalth/Bazz-B
    - Sidenote 2: Bazz-B and Haschwalth seemed to have come from a period of time during the Middle-Ages or Medieval period.
    - Sidenote 3: I feel as viewers we are meant to think of worth and how people use it, how it affects the relationships between people, especially Yhwach and his followers or Ichigo and Uryu.
    - Sidenote 4: Haschwalth despite his stoic nature still has an underlying attachment to Bazz-B. This is worth mentioning because some fans somehow miss all the signs, with the most obvious being the fact that he still uses the word with the B on it.

Bazz-B lacked understanding. He thought Jugram hated Yhwach the same way he did and felt pity for him because he lacked talent. But both of those weren't true. Of course, he couldn't have known that Jugram possessed this unique power, so that wasn't his fault, but he still felt superior to Jugram and looked at him with hateful eyes when Yhwach chose him. That's not something a true friend would do. And his biggest mistake was thinking Jugram hated Yhwach. Yhwach's attack destroyed Bazz-Bs's life, but it saved Jugram from his horrible uncle. I also love the small detail of Yhwach patting kid Jugram's head. That was probably the first time Jugram ever felt parental love in his life. A touch by a parental figure that wasn't abuse. I mean Yhwach calls other Quincies his sons. I could totally see why for Jugram, Yhwach was more important than Bazz-B and why he is so loyal to Yhwach.

If you are a human, you would definitely feel something if you saw someone who has never shown any talent in life suddenly being called a prodigy. You are lying if you say you would be happy for your friend. The initial shock only becomes mellow and even turn into happiness when you finally talk it out. But Jugo never talked. Both Bazz and Jugo are very imperfect. They considered each other friend until the very end. But Jugo wanted to uphold his friendship by not killing Bazz (atleast directly) while Bazz never cared for this life. He just wanted honesty from Jugo who has become Yhwach's minion through and through.
Also, I would also like to point out - Bazz was very talented. He was talented even before he met Jugo. Yhwach 100% gaslit both Jugo and Bazz by saying all of Bazz's power is because of Jugo. I highly doubt it considering the guy didnt even know how to use it. You dont just passively give buffs to your friends without knowing about the passive itself. He had have to learn it which he must have after being recruited. So whatever effect Jugo had on Bazz's power must be minimum and Bazz had grown stronger by his own hard work.

@@nikjovan4816 You're overlooking the complexities of both Bazz-B and Jugram's relationship, as well as their respective experiences. While it’s true that Bazz-B misjudged Jugram’s feelings toward Yhwach, his assumption wasn’t born from malice but from his own frustration and lack of insight into Jugram’s personal struggles. He didn’t understand Jugram’s deeper connection to Yhwach, but that doesn't invalidate the care he showed Jugram throughout their friendship. Jugram, shaped by his abusive uncle, never gave input, always following and remaining passive. Jugram never opened up about his trauma, his feelings, or why he disliked being called “Jugo.” Bazz-B, being the ambitious and impulsive character he was, might have felt resentment when he was passed over in favor of Jugram, but his actions before that moment consistently demonstrated concern for Jugram’s well-being. He respected him and wanted to help him become stronger. His jealousy when Jugram was chosen was a product of his deep-seated frustration, not a reflection of him being a “bad friend.” As for Jugram's loyalty to Yhwach, it’s important to remember that Jugram had been subjected to severe emotional abuse by his uncle for years. That trauma made Jugram's attachment to Yhwach more complex and less about simple superiority or loyalty. Yhwach represented something Jugram had never experienced before-true care and acceptance. The gesture of Yhwach patting his head was significant for Jugram, a moment of comfort in his otherwise abusive life. This doesn’t negate the bond Jugram had with Bazz-B, but it helps explain why his loyalty to Yhwach developed in such a strong way. Jugram’s relationship with Bazz-B was filled with respect and care, but it was marred by a lack of communication and understanding that prevented them from truly connecting on the same emotional level. So, while it’s understandable that Bazz-B misread Jugram’s feelings, it wasn’t out of a desire to undermine him or out of superiority-it was because of the broader context of both of their lives. That doesn’t make Bazz-B a bad friend, but rather someone who, like Jugram, was deeply affected by their circumstances and unable to fully express or understand the depth of their feelings.

I always suspected Jugram was actually the other half of Yhwach.
    1. Jugram is the same type of Quincy as Yhwach.
    2. Jugram has no parents stated by Jugram, and regarding his uncle maybe he has no parents so in formality he calls him his uncle or was told to call him uncle and the fact we don’t get to see what the uncle looks like at least probably hints at they aren’t related.
    3. Jugram was a Quincy born 200 years after Yhwach’s birth and Yhwach was born 200 years ago before Jugram and they are the same type of quincies there aren’t any others, and considering at this point Jugram is a thousand years old and no other Quincy has been born like them confirms it.
Jugram is most likely created by the Soul King, probably in creation the Soul King split them up and that’s why Yhwach wanted to look for Jugram.

There was obvious miscommunication between them but throughout their childhood, it’s consistently shown how much Bazz-B respected Jugram and genuinely tried to help him grow-not just as a fighter, but as a person. The one moment of jealousy he experiences is completely understandable: imagine watching someone you’ve spent half of your childhood with, who initially showed no talent or skill, suddenly chosen as the right-hand man of the person you’re actively trying to kill. That moment doesn’t erase everything Bazz-B did for Jugram or make him a bad friend.

Jugram never felt at home being around Bazz, because Bazz only thought of himself. When Bazz stared at Jugram out of spite, Jugram reaction was the exact same to when he was with the uncle. Bazz only thought of Jugram as a less. Meanwhile Yhwach call him by his real name and respect him. He has no home outside Yhwach. Even on death, Bazz never apologise and only thought about his feeling and fighting Jugram. There's literally nothing Jugram can do, he was forced to act that way by everything that Bazz did. Bazz is a narcissist and you can't be friends with someone like that even if you empathise with them. Jugram learned to protect himself from abusive relationships.

@@dragonoyxd Your take on Bazz-B and Jugram’s relationship is oversimplified and misses key aspects of both characters' struggles. First off, claiming that "Jugram did nothing wrong" while blaming everything on Bazz-B is completely one-sided. Jugram was a passive character, shaped by his traumatic upbringing, and he never took the initiative to open up to Bazz-B about his feelings, including his dislike for the nickname "Jugo." This lack of communication is a two-way street, not just Bazz-B’s fault.
Bazz-B, while flawed, was not a narcissist. He wasn’t just thinking about himself; he genuinely cared for Jugram and tried to help him grow. His actions-like taking Jugram under his wing, encouraging him whenever Jugram talked down about himself, and standing by him despite their differences-show that he wasn’t the self-centered figure you're making him out to be. It’s not like Bazz-B forced Jugram into anything; rather, Jugram never expressed his discomfort or voiced his concerns.
As for Jugram being "forced" into acting a certain way, that’s a misleading narrative. Yes, Jugram had a lot of trauma, but blaming everything on Bazz-B ignores the fact that Jugram, at any point, could have addressed the issues in their relationship. If he had truly felt oppressed by Bazz, he had the agency to speak up. Jugram didn’t because of his own internalized passivity and fear-problems that were his to confront, not Bazz-B’s to fix. He was never oppressed at all; we literally see him smile and show moments of warmth when interacting with Bazz-B, specifically when Bazz-B encourages him and tries to make him feel better about himself.
Bazz-B’s jealousy and pride when Jugram was chosen by Yhwach were understandable, given Bazz’s history of being a genius with obvious talents. It doesn’t make him a bad friend-it makes him human. And the idea that Bazz didn’t care about Jugram during death is an exaggeration. Even in his final moments, Bazz-B still cared about Jugram, just like he always had, the fact he continued to call him Jugo proves it. His anger was misdirected, but that doesn’t erase the history of care and mentorship he provided.
Your portrayal of Jugram as entirely innocent and Bazz-B as entirely culpable ignores the deeper complexities of their relationship. Jugram’s loyalty to Yhwach is understandable, but it’s also a result of his own vulnerabilities and past trauma. Yhwach may have given him a sense of belonging in that moment, but that doesn’t mean Jugram’s relationship with Bazz-B was devoid of meaning. They both contributed to the failures in their bond, and reducing their entire dynamic to a one-sided blame game misses the point.
Jugram felt he was needed and valued by Bazz-B, and Bazz-B, despite his flaws, genuinely believed in Jugram’s potential. While their relationship had its miscommunications and lacked the deep emotional understanding that could have made it healthier, Bazz-B never saw Jugram as a mere subordinate or lesser being. Instead, he saw him as someone worth investing in, even though he struggled to fully understand Jugram's inner turmoil. Jugram, on the other hand, found a sense of purpose and validation in Bazz-B’s mentorship, something he had been starved of throughout his life. Their bond, despite its imperfections, was a genuine one built on a mix of admiration, loyalty, and mutual respect, even if it wasn’t always expressed in the healthiest ways.
Please learn how to comprehend what you read.
