@@master_illitrix while some snakes can technically go through leather you also have to consider that they must go through jeans and sock and that there is usually a gap between the wall of the cowboy boot and leg which kinda buffers against bites. Of course because men don't care what they look like any more. If they did tennis shoe companies and their hideous products would no longer be in existence.
There is a little discussion on this subject: While I agree with his statements, the old school Texas rule was for cattlemen: Apparently the trend was up to so many cattle, you would wear one side of one cuff in your boot... From that number to whatever the next number was, you tucked the same side (inside or outside) of the other cuff in. Long story short, with a LOT of cattle, you would have the leg cuffs fully into both boots... Ens. George Gay, WWII USN pilot, and author of "Sole Survivor" about his experience in WWII(sole survivor of the HORNET detachment of VT-8 at Midway) wrote about this in his book- describing how you could tell how many head of cattle a man had by the way his pants legs were tucked. (George Gay was born & raised in Texas in the 1930s) The other reason for tucking your cuffs on the trail is to keep things from crawling up your leg! Same reason the military "blouses" their boots- it keeps things out of the cuff, and therefore (mostly) away from getting into your pants. (Of course, should you meet a cute cowgirl while wearing your cuffs tucked, it will keep YOU from getting into HER pants as well! Unless you are on the trail, of course...)

I'm in an east coast city heading to Wyoming soon. All my life I've worn boots untied so they were always over the pants. Not sure if I'd like to wear boots differently because it seems dressing up if pants over boots and with some of these designs on shafts, why hide them.
Great video, great advice. Thanks!
I like wearing my cowboy boots with my jeans tucked in or pulled over my shafts. I'm a cowboy boot man. I just love wearing them period!
Hell yeah man! Thats what i like to hear! Wear them for you, not for anyone else
I live in Texas and have the cowboy spirit in me. Also love trashing my cowboy boots in the mud just for fun!
@@kentfountain8847 haha when its raining i like to walk right through puddles because my feet wont get wet and my friends tennis shoes will lol
Trashing your cowboy boots is just pure fun
Lol
My boots are the most comfortable boots I own and I wear them everyday.
Thank you brother
Caint pull them boots over my skinny jeans. 😂 The boot leg and straight leg look best w/ boots. Thumbs up.
What are your thoughts on boots + knee high socks?
I wear socks that go to my calf. My boots usually go up to my calf. I would wear knee high socks if i had them. They wouldn't bunch up or slide down my foot.
I want full body sock
@@smackdadious well that went from 0 to 100

Just watched, I'm a city boy and was just wondering...Wife has watched Yellowstone and suddenly wants the cowboy guy out of me so...Anywho, there is the county scene up here in N Dakota so a guy will stand out as a "poser" but I also work on the farm from time to time but always have worn just 'work boots' and wanted get a pair of real man boots to fit the picture on the farm and also wear a pair out on the town, so thanks bro. Good video, keep up the good work!!
Fogot to add...I love Hamm's
