Ou, this caption was WEIRD to read but one thing I love about sukekiyo [and Dir en grey] is that the feel of the music is sometimes completely contrary to the lyrics so you might get the feeling you listen to something fun and energetic but then you read the lyrics and they are really dark and depressing. But this way it comments on how feeling bad inside can look from the outside: Sometimes, the worst we feel the harder we try to appear cheerful. So we should be just nice to each other no matter how a person seems. I really strongly believe that there are few people around we could be truly jealous of - because most people who look like they have the most perfect lives either don't or are a bit shallow and don't really think about other people - There would be no sense in wanting to switch lives with the first one and I really wouldn't want to switch places with the latter. This was more general but speaking about Hakudaku...this feels so damn personal to me and so heartbreakingly delicate. I really love the lyrics for this one and the music is always between this more poppy and 'fun' sound and a really deeply setted melancholy most prominently through the strings and the connection between the music and lyrics but also through the bass-line, just listen to that on its own and you get so many different feelings it's truly masterfully written! And Jon [I am so sorry I misspelled your name a LOT in past comments ^^'] actually commented on this difference. So although he felt that this song is fun he also noticed that there was something more - even without paying attention to the lyrics. „Is it dark or is it fun“ feels like a good caption for Sukekiyo XD the songs are usually sad, but the musicians go all out having fun with their instruments. I really appreciate the experimentalism of them, but still very much prefer DIR.
