One of my favorite quotes in rock history. "Fuck Imagine Dragons."- Josh Homme
Never heard this before. Right when I thought Josh couldn't be any cooler..
I strongly agree. They honestly have no talent. It's the sell your soul to get famous... Anyone can use the same loud drum beat in their songs...
@@IIIFirebreatherIdiotCrowIII you're allowed to have your opinion. Thank you for sharing.
@@Navajo41I don’t particularly like them, but saying they have no talent seems inaccurate. You just don’t like their music.
But even if they really didn’t have any talent, so what? Neither do I, but I still enjoy making music and got to the point where I can make decent songs and play some instruments, through hard work. I don’t have the ambition to get anywhere with it, but if I did, why would my lack of innate talent matter?
Judge the music, not the musician.
@@svenmify it's just my opinion that they have no talent. This new information of what they did made me dislike them even more. I'm not the best musician either but it's not my dream to be famous either. I'm sure they worked hard by selling their souls. Like I said, just my opinion. No need to be upset about it.
2024 has been wild for music beefs. 7 months in and we've had Drake vs Kendrick, Foo Fighters vs Taylor Swift, and now Serj vs Imagine Dragons.

No soad below us

I did not have this on my music drama bingo card.... An unlikely beef imo
Is it unlikely? Maybe. Is it really even beef? Would you say that genocide is causing "beef"? Either your humanity comes out for victims of mass criminal actions or it doesn't. Beef is a word for arguments between parties, but I have no beef with dictatorships. I have a human reaction of sympathy for those who suffer under them, and complete rejection for those who give legitimacy to said dictatorship. Such as imagine dragons. Beef as a term just trivialize the suffering.

I remember seeing a comment reading "imagine Dragon is the soundtrack of Minium wage pay" (pretty much imply working a retail job you would hear a lot of imagine dragons) hell Talor Swift is probably the ultimate minimum wage soundtrack that you are force to hear in retail
Pretty much most of the artists who sold their souls and just play poorly written songs for money are on retail radio stations. But the good thing about the sh*tty retail radio stuff is it gets you out of the store quicker.
Thats why I had my ipod or phone and headphones on at ALL times. No matter how many times the boss didn't like it.
Do you want a good employee, or a spree ki 11 er? Cuz having to listen to chain store radio will do just that. Cant have 1 or the other.
Hate to tell you this but all us wage slaves played soad at our. Minimum wage jobs. Only difference is it was 20 years ago when soad was still relevant.
@@daveb4093 As a retail employee, I can promise you Maroon 5 is in the wage deck.
I'd give anything to not hear "On top of the world" again because retail stores have that song in their playlist, especially knowing their stance on ethnic cleansing now
Serj forgot to say that they also suck as artists not just as human beings
Serj Tankian is a hypocrite. If he were a truly honest person, he would also talk about the genocides committed by Armenia (Xocalı) or the terrorist organization called A.S.A.L.A that killed Turkish civilians. He doesn't mention these, if the opposite happened, I haven't heard of it. In conclusion, what I see is Serj, who looks like a human rights activist but is essentially an Armenian nationalist.
How are they more popular than SOAD then?
150% with Serj. Dan made a very shitty response, omfg
Imagine dragons has to go all the way to Azerbaijan to find people who will listen to their music
They've got good music and donate loads to charities. They have 150+ songs on their discography and the two you hear on repeat does NOT represent them as a band. Tbh I never get people who hate on artists without even listening how they sound like.
I don't remember the last time I listened to an Imagine dragons song but this is such a daft comment. They're very popular all around the world.

Serj makes a valid point in regards to would one perform for Nazis for example, though.
Imagine Dragons BLOW
its a complicated the thing, the people are not the " government" even if you dont like the government should the people of xyz country not be able to see a band hey like ?
If you keep voting in a government committing ethnic cleansing you are absolutely pretty much culpable. Last I checked that country wasnt a dictatorship, its a democracy and their leaders are voted in.
If your country is killing other nation, then you are in part responsible. After II WW whole Germany nation was held responsible not only nazis.
It's not complicated and you're right. Making a petition to ban concerts is pathetic. There are anti-war people in Azerbaijan, Israel, Russia and all other countries. And dictatorship is called "dictatorship" for a reason, you cannot just overthrow your government. Let people at least enjoy the music.
its not about the fans supporting or not their government, its about whitewashing the image of said government to the world regardless of the citizens agreeing or not. If anything having the concert is a disservice to those fans who dont agree with the dictatorship because it will make the world believe that everything is fine when it is most defenetly not, thus making a regime change even harder
I mean this is just the way it is simply put... Some people truly cannot help where they were born or where they're located, and the people that occupy the area have no say in what the people in power decide to do... Why should the people that have built their lives there be deprived of seeing their favorite bands..?
There's a new documentary out talking about U2 playing in Sarajevo amid ethic cleansing there asserting that music was a form of rebellion against the genocide which helped them get through it.

This is a tactic that Hamas uses to villainize Israel and clearly it unfortunately worked. Because the USA supports other 'western-aligned' countries which in their conflicts are sometimes in the right (Ukraine, Kosovo) but in other cases, like with Azerbaijan, (and israel) can be very much in the wrong, but they support them just by proxy of being against Russia/china and allies, to whatever extent (Armenia basically isn't a Russian ally anymore iirc they just applied to leave csto)
@@akgfilming USA haven’t ever had shown any clear and unambiguous opinion about Karabakh dispute
I love SoaD but Serj just needs to stfu sometimes. By his own logic he criticizes America more than any other country despite having the vast majorities of his shows in America. The people who want to enjoy the music have nothing to do with the genocide taking place. Also what is a band from one of these countries supposed to do? Are they not allowed to make music because they are from Azerbaijan or Russia?
SOAD is a bunch of political grifters who suck at making real music
Rich people arguing about being virtuous is so low on my list of things to care about that I regret even hearing about this stupid fued.

Its funny that Serj mentions playing in Russia when thats literally what they did after Russias invasion of Crimea and Georgia.(When it was still cool I guess?) I dont care for Imagine Dragons and I love Soads music but man what a hypocritical way to tackle that
