Thank you! I just made my first oil change I’m 39. Saved 70$ thanks!!
Awesome, I think you saved more than that. My dealer quoted me closed to $200, and that was the time when I decided to do it myself 😊. Here is stuff that you can do yourself and save a lot more: th-cam.com/play/PLLoEAO8f1zNwqR2KEyXCjGCkuOrxGGNfL.html
Best oil change vid hands down
Best video I have seen so far doing this c class oil change
Thank you for feedback!
You shared how the filter and engine oil are great. thank you
Your outtakes rocked!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I did the transmission and yes difficult but doable outside my house. Done it via the torque converter as you would and was ok. The only thing that’s stupid is the undertray which is massive and no need for it that big for an oil change. As i said the BMW I had had a special cover for oil change. The easiest oil change! Wonderful car to work on! Mercedes different story!
I also have BMW F30 and it has opening for oil drain plug - make the change much easier, no need to remove the whole cover.
I like that you included cutout scenes. To show it’s not always super easy like it’s shown in the video
That's only if you're a garbage mechanic.
@@assordante2205if you’re such a great mechanic, why are you watching tutorials on TH-cam? 🤔
@chemEGirly haha, U smoked Assordante... that tool!
Brilliant tutorial man. No bullshit, just the main facts 👍
Thank you! Consider subscribing for more MB vids
@@NewRoad done already 👍
Thanks for the video I just do it today the hard part was removing the plastic under the engine just that the rest was super easy
Glad it was helpful. It is easy to remove with electrical screwdriver and when you done it couple of times
Excellent video on changing the oil and filter for the C class the old school way, I like it...especially since im considering buying a c43. Can you make a video of changing the differential oil, that would be very helpful
Yes, I am planning to make for differential and transmission when weather gets warmer
It's m274 engine and it's known of piston failure. I suggest to use oil with reduced or without calcium for minimize LSPI. They are API SN Plus or SP, 229.51 or 229.52 will be fine.
So far so good (knocking on wood). I'm using Castrol now
Thank you so much. Do you know how to change the differential oil in front and rear. My car just hit 100K mile
I haven't done video for Mercedes yet, but should be straight forward, drain and fill until the fluid flows from fill hole. I definitely plan to make video when I need to change in my W205
Cheers! Thanks for the video.
Glad it was helpful
i have same car , how i know if it need to change oil and filter?
Here is full maintenance schedule for Mercedes - th-cam.com/video/vHhqcs2SJKQ/w-d-xo.html
Great video! Thanks for doing this vid
Glad it was helpful!
I never watched such a good video ! Thank you so much ! But next time you change oil, can you do it by extraction / vacuum from the top, to know if you can get as much oil as draining ? (Official Benz garages use extraction procedure on W205, but is it as good ?) Thanks again.
Thank you for you feedback. To be honest - I prefer old way to change the oil. I might try to use vacuum through the tube next time if I find some cheap one.
I saw picture of the inside of the oil pan. Dip stick tube goes all the way down right next to the drain plug. I would say difference between the two methods is negligible compared to the volume of the oil.
@@ivorysoap I confirm ! It depends on car models, but on the W205 vaccum method extracts as much as old way, so I prefer that nobody unscrews my oil pan and then fuxx it when screwing back ! It happens and I do not want to be a victim !
For M104 and M113 the correct procedure to refill the oil would be to fill half the capacity through the oil filter housing and half through the cap and then wait 15 minutes. I've never seen an indie shop do it correctly.
Are you working for dealership? Can you tell me why they overfill the engine oil then?
@@NewRoad I'm not associated with any dealership but I know the correct fill procedure. Overfilling is a worker error obviously, the 15 minute waiting period is there for the exact reason to let the oil settle before final measurement. Most likely the dealership is cutting corners and billing 10 minutes to the minute.
How do you do the pressure test by yourself
U did a really good job cheers
Thank you!
What is the name of the tolls and their size?
Where can I get the drain plug washer
Check fcpeuro.com or find the closest MB dealer
Usually ist is with the News Filter.
Appreciate the video!

Where can I find replacement washer for drain plug
Try rockauto.com or FCP Euro sites
Where can I buy the oil and oil filter? Have a 2016 c300 4matic
I usually buy from rockauto.com or fcpeuro.com
@@NewRoad Thank you! 🙏🏾
Do I have to use mercedes oil filter and oil?
Not necessary as long as it is the same oil grade
That looks like a paper element oil filter? I thought Mercedes used fleece filters.
So I have the coupe version to be exact the cabriolet is my oil the 6.3US qt or the 6.9
Do you have owner's manual, it should tell you exactly what is required for your car
I have a question, I bought this oil, but after unscrewing the cap there is no silver sticker
I don't remember if I had it tbh. But I know that not all companies put those
Thats true,thank you for informations
Thank you
I’ve recently done this to my c class Mercedes, the check engine light turned on a day later, is there something I have to check?
Did you reset service after?
@@NewRoad yes, I double checked
What year is this particular Mercedes?
2017
What kind of oil?
5W-40, make sure it is spec for MB 229.5
great videos
Thank you!
Great video, at 5:34, is that the Centre jack point next to your hand for this model? Thanks
Thanks, this will give you a better idea: mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w205/783823-w205-home-jacking-jack-stands.html
very clear and straight forward procedure. thank you.
How control oil is original or fake ?
Original Mercedes-Benz from dealer
Air cleaner not changed ?
Do you mean engine air filter, or something else?
Good reliable car.nothing to repair.
I love mine
thank you so much
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful
They couldn't put a little door flap underneath on the oil cover? No, you have to take 8 bolts out. My BMW is much quicker. But, wife had to have the Benz.
True, but even 2017 MB has engine oil stick while my 2014 BMW doesn't and I have to rely on electronics ... each car has its own quirks
All German cars are ridiculous over priced over engineered over complicated !
Similarly, in Hyundai, you do not need to remove the lower engine cover, there are inspection holes to conveniently pour off the old oil and change the filter.
Spot on! Nightmare to get to it! BMW F10 small flap takes 10 min to do an oil change! Very well said!
@@andymuller8883 I just did the transmission fluid and filter service. Another nightmare. Had to drop the heavy driveshaft mount and then have a little special plastic tool to refill the trans fluid. They don't want you fixing your own stuff!!!
Many thanks
You are welcome
Great video
Thank you
Well done video.
Thank you!
@@NewRoad Just a side note. Just did my wife's 2018 C300. You have to remove both bottom trays. The drain plug is under the back one on the passengers side. 13 MM. Pain in the ass. I know they did it on purpose to dissuade DIY.
I hate those plastic covers. They should at least make a little access port panel with one or two screws holding it on.
It's not too bad, it's easy to remove them. The only question I would have for Mercedes... aren't those covers keep more heat around engine and make it hotter. Would expect to create a better ventilation and straight pipe for air intake
At my VIN card have:
13A OIL OFFSET AMOUNT +1300 ML OIL
What does that actually mean?
How much oil should be added 8l or 8+1.3=9.3l?
Cls x218 350cdi 4matic 2014
Do you have owner's manual, it should tell you exactly what is required for your car
@@NewRoad I looked, but there is nothing about it in the owner's manual..
I asked 3 authorized service centers, and they don't know what it means.
Sorry what is the name of this engine
M274
Excellent video. Thanks 👏🏼
You need to use tighter gloves makes life easier !!
Good point! I got some new ones now
Does this Mercedes car require a special tool only the dealers have to change the oil? Thank you
No, you can change it yourself - it is easy!
you did not check the oil dipstick. How do you know you have fill up correctly...
Did I miss to put how to check in this video? Anyway, here you go: th-cam.com/video/mAgU6yGDkjs/w-d-xo.html
There is nothing simple or straight forward about that
7 quarts of oil
Check your owner's manual - or watch video until the end - it shows exactly how much you need
You take too long for oil change. I can do oil change on mercedes in 5 minutes, including tire rotation and tune up.
I wasn't in a hurry 😎
@@NewRoad
Just kidding man. Great video, by the way.
