Hey man, some good bits of advice in this video. I am also of the mentality that you do not need to spend big (especially in the beginning) to get good results. You dont need profoto lights to get nice quality photos. People get all caught up on what gear they should use when they should be getting caught up on the way light works, the way composition works, and the way that all that stuff they buy will just be in the background. A real studio is often times not as pretty as the photos lead you to believe.

What is that folding thing where you put that backdrop on? I couldn’t hear that well what you said about it. I really need that folding thing in my life 🤩

It’s a folding camping table. You can find them on Amazon and eBay for not too much money

For food and small still life go to Range and buy half a dozen A1 pieces of coloured board. They last forever, need nothing doing to them, great choice of colours (avoid blue as you should never use blue with food as it tells the brain it’s bad to eat, there’s no natural blue food), easy to store and you can either use clamps with magic armed or clamp them to backdrop stands. I like my mid greys for food and you can buy cheap bed sheets at B&M as they are about 10 years out of date. You can also buy black velvet on eBay which is the best for sucking light out of a shot if you want to fade through. Another good video.

Mark Harris you’ve just predicted my next few videos, lol. I like the block colours of board or paper too. Thanks for watching. That’s a good tip about the blue.

      I thought blueberries' are blue

holohulolo Unless they have been through Lightroom they are dark purple, very similar to whortleberries but the latter makes the best jam. Though I believe the American blueberry is green, which in over 20 years as a chef I never saw once.

Hi Sean, I'm from Lima, Perú. My english it's no so good so... Congrats for your work, I really like your esthetic for photos and videos.
To the point: I don't understand what's the name of that black (¿it's black or grey?) backdrop. What is that material? Where are you buy it?
For other way, I have a sugestion for a new video, can you photofraph food that generates smoke?? Something like a empanada (patty) or a lasgane? In your portafolio of food you have one picture with smoke (the hand hanging a bun) but it´s just a little bit. Con you do a sesión of food with a lot of smoke? Regards from Lima, Perú.

Where did you find those wood pieces(maybe fake?)? I try to find it but I have no idea where can I find it.

They are vinyl flooring. You can find them in big DIY stores and they always seem to have boxes that are selling for cheap because they are broken open. Good luck!

    Great video, great information.
The sound though, there is some kind of white noise I think.

Normally I would give a video like this a downvote, just another photographer trying to jump on the youtube band wagon, but I like you, so have a thumbs UP! Just please don't chew on camera, YUK!
