diaz noobietown yeah the only reason I do them is for the bird mounts could care less about the wpns considering there will be alternative ways to get better ones. Atleast DPS check wont be an issue the mechanics are just becoming more brainfuckery that you may have to read a written guide unlike the past extremes
This video is extremely confusing in terms of scales and meteors, since you won't have the slightest clue what to look out for and where to look for meteos, since it goes straight into the tilt explanation without even showing you where to look and what it looks like.
To anyone who finds this overwhelming, in the end it's all about practice. This fight sounds way harder than it really is, and after a few practice parties you should understand what you're doing for the most part. I've already gotten my weapon by clearing it 10 times, and I'm still having a hard time following this. Nothing against Mizztec's guide of course, I think it's just the nature of the fight.
Our team tried to did a Minimum IL run. Spent 1 hour to learn the mechanism and another 1 hour to do the run. We finally got the boss HP to 2% then everyone got pushed off the platform... The host decided it's getting late (1a.m.) and ended the run
Short note for dragoons: When equilibrium goes off and Sophia doesn't disappear to do a rush attack, you can easily have a Dragonfire Dive or a Spineshatter Dive to completely bypass the tilt and remain on Sophia for damage. Helpful to keep Blood of the Dragon up!

I will note though, if Sophia's in the wrong spot when you jump, you might not be able to run out of the laser in time. thus, this strategy is best saved for the first tilt following the phase transition, when you'll be able to delay a few skills and have a stronger burst of damage. Of course, it can also save you if you're positioned wrong, but don't rely on it! Movement is key in this fight.
NOTE: If you're in a regular learning/clear party group (ie, low DPS) it's entirely likely you'll get an Arms of Wisdom/Green tank buster BEFORE cloudy heavens.
In short: Thunder 2, is a cone/line aoe Thunder 3, is a donut aoe Aero, is point blank aoe When the balancing act starts up, keep track of where the blue meteor is, and run to the opposite side.
OMG THAT'S WHY HE PARRIED ME TWICE WHEN I TRIED TO PROVOKE TOMOHAWK QQ i was in a learning party and had fucked up just before that phase so when i got in i had no chance of grabbing aggro and tried to provoke tomohawk and then i got slammed by two parries and i was so confused XD
A more effective strategy for the First PLD guy is to have the target person run up to him and just take the hit and sacrifice themselves. Its much safer than trying to stack and doesn't effect overall DPS at all.
I think the point of this is to be a DF strat - the safest and least risky method. I feel that it is better to properly execute a mechanic and avoid a Zombification or Raise at the cost of some DPS, than it is to play risky... In DF/RF, that is.
I'm pretty sure you don't die if you take the hit. As many times I've done this, no one has ever shared the aoe. The affected dps gets zombified and loses about a quarter-half health but since we all stack way in the corner for the tilts, they can't fall off and they follow us for the tilts.
if you die during zombified mode, you die, but the thing is, if the rest 7 ppl are dpsing the pld, he will die very fast and the fight will enter phase 3, during that period the zombified player will be healed back to normal so no one will die, this is indeed the safest method.
To add on this, the stack mechanic has an effective HP requirement that's quite strict for people to meet in i235 gear. Note how in the video, the scholar dropped to 14 HP, with collective unconsciousness up (that succor was late). I'd not advice the stack strategy to groups with players with less than 19k HP, especially if you end up with double WHM.
She didn’t show it properly (I’m guessing she had someone doing callouts for her because I never saw her turn the camera to check.) I’m sure you’ve long since cleared this but Mr Happy’s guides are always better than MTQ’s in my experience unless it’s just a short dungeon, she tends to make the fight mechanics sound more complicated than they are
I mean, they wont see it, but basically a week ago i did this with a group of 5 mentors (3 of em battle mentors, one highly experienced) i just started learning tank for about 10 hours as gunbreaker at that point, previous nin/drg main. Thanks to them we finished the fight in about 35 minutes without a full tutorial with me as sub-tank, and i ended up with mount and nin-weapon first time....feeling so bad for them that i got all the loot ^^` But love me my golden Falcon. I've been waiting for this! Thank you for boiling down the tether/meteor situation. Sophia EX is my first EX primal and so I've been having issues getting used to her. Great guide!
Its also good to note that there are several mechanics that can be pushed with enough dps. Like the tank buster is there throughout the fight and it can happen early if your not pushing your dps
Valerie, I did this dungeon with me as a dark knight and a friend as a scholar. I noticed that the vulnerability stacks can be negated, if the damage taken is 0, with aid from Scholar's Galvanized and Dark Knight's Blackest Night. You can also negate the daughter's knock off blast, by using any of those two skills, receiving 0 damage and negate the knock off effect. This only works for me with a Dark Knight and Scholar duo, with both at level 80 and at with their highest gear in game and all skills unlocked.
One thing of note about the tank busters if you take no damage you don't get a debuff and won't need to swap (so if a Paladin use Hallowed Ground or get a monster adlo/with stone skin also if Dark Knight uses Living Dead at the right time and healers let it go longer enough then a swap won't be needed)

so, what this seems to imply is that if you see a tank buster before the adds appear, your party doesn't have the damage to clear before enrage. Actually, that's false, but I am always happy when parties I join skip the phase 1 busters.
I'm having a hard time understanding the tank swap, the Pug groups i've been in have said swap with the green aura. I find it very hard to see personally and i'm not sure when I should be using provoke, as soon as the green is up so I take the debuff? am I supposed to hold agro after that?
Walican132 if you swap during the green aura animation, the main tank will still take the búster and get debuffed, but Sophia will proceed to attack you instead. This is necessary because her auto-attacks are lightning elemental, and the debuff she places with her tank búster is eléctric resist down. You have to provoke while she casts in order for you to take the next auto-attack.
3 level 80s + my freshly minted lvl 70 SMN, unsynced, 15 minutes for the first clear, got my bird _&_ weapon, stuck around to keep helping, 23 minutes for run number 2, no bird. 13 minutes on clear 3, got a bird, need a nap.
If a Scholar deploys a crit Adlo before pull, the entire party (save for the main tank) can completely ignore the first Gnosis for 100% dps uptime, since you only get pushed back if you take damage. The pull has to happen immediately after deployment, though. The main tank can ignore this Gnosis with tempered will or holmgang. Drk is fucked, tho.
Normal adlo deply + Divine Veil is also enough to not get pushed back. BLM can use Manawall to not get knocked back when combined with a succor and/or Divine Veil
HEY MSTQ! Have you experienced this in Sophia EX? Note on the spawn head: leave space in front of the spawn head, standing directly on the front of it may pinball you or group off the platform on a weird trajectory.
The written guide says that the green aura debuff is magical. But MrHappy on the other hand says that it's physical. Which one is it? This is important, as if this is physical stuff like Forseight, Raw Intuition and Sheltron are available cooldowns for tanks, if it's magical, then they won't work
If it's an odd amount of tethers, it's going to be a short or a "soft" tile, and if it's an even number, it's going to be a long or a "hard" tilt. A good rule of thumb is to look at the scales and run opposite to the scale that has a blue meteor.

Love the video I just have one question. Why cant healers meet the healing demands of cintamani? There have been many times where I have been a mechanics god and dodged EVERYTHING, and yet, to my dismay I still die when she does 3 cintamanis in a row. 243mch and the only thing seems to save me most of the time is rend minding her when she casts it. I've taken to watching healers during cintamani and they all react so slowly, only starting aoe healing after it has gone off once and I just pray its enough to keep us alive. I am not placing all the blame on healers but holy crap. I've tunneled hard and missed a mechanic here and there and then corrected myself when we go again next, but the consistency of healers not keeping everyone alive during cintamani is absurd for me. I have died when everything has gone right (or mostly so) to cintamani and im just baffled . I almost killed her once and never got close again and I ran it upwards of 15 times today (oct 14 2pm - 8pm) ... not to mention all the times healers have been hit by aero 3 thunder gnostic rant which are the 3 easiest abilities to dodge . You could way Sophia has put me on tilt... :p
I meant thunder 3 not just thunder ... its weird I cant edit posts on my phone but anyway. These are all raid finder groups, maybe that isnt the best thing for me right now since I have a solid grasp on the fight and need competent players by my side to complete it
Shadow Darkraven People with vulnerabilities usually die to cintamani if healers dont shield it. If your healers are having trouble you can always have them (or a smn) use virus or disable. Divine Veil works well too. Though tbf, a healer worth their salt shouldnt have trouble with it.
You're probably encountering healers who're not up to their games in this fight. I was in a learning party today and we had terrific healers who managed to keep everyone alive in cintamani even when people had vulnerability (there were people with 2 and 3 stacks). Of course, there are times people will die, but dying all the time with no debuff is bullshit, the healers are not doing their jobs
for Cintamani (WHM main) even if one of you guys have a vulnerability the heal should still be able to save you. Unless you have 3 stacks lol. what I do is the second she starts showing yellow aura I instantly cast medica 2 then medica then prep for tankbuster. With the other healer also aoe healing it's enough to survive. yes virus/disable helps too but I save those for the tankbuster.

Samuel Abraham I agree. I saw vid for sephirot ex. And I had no easy way to memorize. I liked the guide until phase 3. The blue punch marker bugged me because it didn't work right. If sephirot is done after release of storm blood, and phases may be skipped, I had a 4 step dps guide. Even with this vid I'm scared of Sophia, and what's worse is I always scare self before I try. I won't lie, if I ever forget phases, I tend to just follow the party
nah in pug ppl still mess up, you said its easy because someone has to memerize the whole fight and tell you what to do next, or you have to do it yourself
FATEd Pondera they really aren't. they are designed to test the players that feel as if the other content is too easy. You saying what you just said gives people the impression that you like your content easy, or that you don't have the required skill to complete the extreme primals. you can't grind for scripture if you're maxed for the week and why run a dungeon if all of your classes are at 60? extreme primals give you a certain sense of accomplishment, knowing that the average player can't complete this the way that it was supposed to be done. Try not to influence others with your baby like attitude towards anything mildly challenging.

Yep, I'm used to killing this boss in 2 minutes so I forgot how many mechanics it actually has.
Also when you pair up, each pair needs to be a dps and a tank/healer.
Its also good to note that there are several mechanics that can be pushed with enough dps. Like the tank buster is there throughout the fight and it can happen early if your not pushing your dps

As a paladin, keep in mind you can use Tempered Will to avoid Gnosis knockback.

Enrage- Everybody gets black aoe and then boss casts aoe which kills everyone. usually happens after tilt laser charge

It's physical. It's common for Paladins to use Sheltron with one of the general cooldowns to help reduce damage.

Shadow Darkraven People with vulnerabilities usually die to cintamani if healers dont shield it. If your healers are having trouble you can always have them (or a smn) use virus or disable. Divine Veil works well too. Though tbf, a healer worth their salt shouldnt have trouble with it.
You're probably encountering healers who're not up to their games in this fight. I was in a learning party today and we had terrific healers who managed to keep everyone alive in cintamani even when people had vulnerability (there were people with 2 and 3 stacks). Of course, there are times people will die, but dying all the time with no debuff is bullshit, the healers are not doing their jobs
for Cintamani (WHM main) even if one of you guys have a vulnerability the heal should still be able to save you. Unless you have 3 stacks lol. what I do is the second she starts showing yellow aura I instantly cast medica 2 then medica then prep for tankbuster. With the other healer also aoe healing it's enough to survive. yes virus/disable helps too but I save those for the tankbuster.
mb 4 stacks not 3. we had a tank at 4 stacks of vulnerability and still managed to survive. them pallys lol. (did not use invincible)

Samuel Abraham I agree. I saw vid for sephirot ex. And I had no easy way to memorize. I liked the guide until phase 3. The blue punch marker bugged me because it didn't work right. If sephirot is done after release of storm blood, and phases may be skipped, I had a 4 step dps guide. Even with this vid I'm scared of Sophia, and what's worse is I always scare self before I try. I won't lie, if I ever forget phases, I tend to just follow the party

FATEd Pondera they really aren't. they are designed to test the players that feel as if the other content is too easy. You saying what you just said gives people the impression that you like your content easy, or that you don't have the required skill to complete the extreme primals. you can't grind for scripture if you're maxed for the week and why run a dungeon if all of your classes are at 60? extreme primals give you a certain sense of accomplishment, knowing that the average player can't complete this the way that it was supposed to be done. Try not to influence others with your baby like attitude towards anything mildly challenging.
