CXRF10k-GN Setup and Initial Impressions

- Brand NEW log loader gooseneck bunk trailer from CaMex and they did NOT disappoint! The actual gooseneck is cut from a SINGLE piece of steel. YES, each side of the GN is one continuous monstrous hunk of steel. No stitch welds, no angled pieces filled in. Just one BIG girthy arch.
Now, because of the the loader, the operator's station AND the gooseneck; I highly recommend at least a GVWR of 20,000# or more. This trailer weighs approx 7000# empty and when you calculate your cargo capacity, I'd like to put more wood weight on the deck than a lighter GVWR would allow.
I'll get this out of the way, yes I have the trailer hooked to a '23 Chevy 2500. However, we did bag the rear axle. The only significant difference between the 3500 and 2500 is the rear helper springs, hence the AirLift Co airbags. We did go with the 5000 Pro Plus series. About 40psi balances the loader very well.
Trailer Specs:
20,000# GVWR - Tandem 10k oil bath axles with electric brakes. Dual tires - 235/85r16 14ply
Log deck is 19ft 6in long from the front rack to the rear taillights and 102" left to right. Open floor / skeleton frame. Diamond plate over the tires. Removable bunk poles, HD trucker straps.
Log Loader has a 21ft reach and can lift 4,000#'s at half reach and approx 60% at full reach. Loader comes with an operator's station with spring seat and the ladder is built into the gooseneck frame.

Nice machine, thanks for giving us a look. Is that a roll n lock cover on your truck bed? Do the 20 ton trailers also come with a pintle hook option? I’ve got a dump truck that has a pintle hook and could pull the trailer.
it is a Roll-n-lock on the Chevy. It has the aluminum bars under the leather top.
Yes, we can do the trailers in a Pintle ring hitch. I prefer the heavier trailers to use a GN, but we can accommodate

@@ShaverSalesINC I'm interested in that. I have a MultiLift XR5N hooklift on our International CV515. Debating on going with a 24-26,000lb gooseneck with grapple to be able to pick up 5 cord of logs at a time. I've seen roll off/hooklift type log loaders before but only available in Europe. On a CV515 the GVWR is 22500lbs, and the cab/chassis and hooklift TARE at 10,500lb so only leaves 10,000lb for a log loader dumpster type unit. I'll guess the loader and bin will come in about 2000lbs, leaving 8000lb for cargo. Which would be near 2 cord of logs. Some weight savings in that you would not need a power pack with a hooklift truck as there's are wet lines already to tap into from the hooklift's hydraulics.
@@WoodchuckCanuck I didn't design these current two models. They were sent in from two other dealers. I would have built them for 30,000# GVWR with tandem 15k axles. Then you'd have a nice payload. I might upgrade one of the trailer in the Spring when the bigger axles come back available.
You get to play with alot of cool toys!!! I'd like to see a video of this unloading a tractor trailer if at all possible.. it would justify me spending over 50k on it because of the xtra wood from the logger 50 cord load for the price of 40...
It has plenty of vertical reach. I know I’ve loaded a 115cy walking floor with a 19ft loader. I’d just recommend some logs on the trailer itself for a counter weight when reaching high and far. I knocked some trees down around the wood lot this week. I’ll do a grab and load video

Not sure how wide that trailer is or the lift capacity is of that boom but you could get forks for it from a block truck (concrete blocks) and haul 6-8 pallets on that trailer to deliver fire wood. That 2 pallet rig is nice too but.. you could be even more productive.
We did a second video that was a walk around and spec review. It is 102” wide and the loader lifts 3500#. We have a separate video with the grapple off and crane forks installed as well for moving bags.
You keep mentioning that the only difference between the 2500hd and 3500hd is a couple helper springs. That is true with diesel gm trucks. But the 2500hd gas (at least with all previous gen trucks (back to 2001)) trucks are equipped with the 10.5 inch 14 bolt and the diesel variant is equipped with the 11.5 inch 14 bolt. All 3500hd trucks are equipped with the 11.5 inch 14 bolt regardless of engine.
its just what I've learned with the new 2023's. Could be wrong, but I just bumper pulled 20k#. It did well

we were running a year end special. It sold for $49,900. New 2023's are just a little over $51k. Happy to do a quote.
