Disclaimer: at 07:11 I meant legroom of the seats, not comfort.
I hope you enjoyed the video regardless, thanks.
Thameslink need to fix the seats on the class 700 units
Great trip report
Wouldnt say I love these trains, worst seats and always a weird stench inside them.
Agreed, there’s sometimes an odd smell, sort of hospital Like
@@danielstripreports probably because they go to Herne hill because the 465s also have a odd smell
That's because it's London.
Not a fan of these units. I’ve travelled on them far too many times and when compared to the trains they replaced (class 365, 319 etc) they are appalling. All I will say is the aircon on a hot day is very welcome!
A few years ago I did jury service at the old Bailey for 5 weeks. Luckily I commuted there and back every day on the class 319 before these units entered service. I cannot imagine sitting on a rock-hard wooden jury bench all day long then commuting back home on these equally hard seats. 😐
Enjoyed the video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed!
Great video
Take it you don’t like Thameslink because of the seats on the Class 700 are uncomfortable. I have been on Thameslink before and I really didn’t mind the seats on the Class 700.
These Class 700's are dreadful. They are so uncomfortable and in my view standard class is unfit for purpose. Transport for Wales inherited the class 197 DMU's which were to have the same dreadful Fainsa seats as the class 700's, however the Transport for Wales Board, recognising just how uncomfortable the seats are, and have spent £1.9m in replacing them with Fainsa Sophia seats, which are a bit more comfortable. The incompetent officers at the DfT need to account to the travelling public why they configured the class 700 seats.
Wonderful creation my dear new friend
Take love From Bangladesh ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you my friend 🤝
Great video Daniel! I really don’t like the 700’s Either. Do u ever plan to come across to Ireland. We have some great trains to review!!!
Maybe! Flights are relatively cheap over there, and have some mates over there so could be a possibility! Would be in summer most likely, hope you enjoyed the video.
I’ve started travelling to Brighton on the Gatwick Express to avoid Thameslink from London Bridge which is uncomfortable, overcrowded and slow.
Nice video Daniel! Description says destination Bristol Temple Meads, You may wish to fix that :)
Thanks for letting me know, changed it now!
@@danielstripreports lovely video da more ya know love that ;)
Took it from Harwich to London in 1973 and 1976 good souvenirs 😊
Guessing the seats were slightly more comfortable back then!
The standard class seats should be replaced by the first class seats on the 700s
I'm of two minds about the graffiti. It seems that it has built up over quite some time, which seems neglectful on the part of the operator that they would let it get that bad. On the other hand, if they have to take the train out of service to remove the graffiti, then it causes even more inconvenience to the passengers.
If I had to inconvenience the passengers to make my trains look a little more presentable then that's exactly what I would do. The fact that these trains are in this state tells me that they either do not care about they look to the people who use them every day, or they simply cannot afford to.
Thank you for uploading this video but what a shame some idiot decided to vandalise the train.
Agreed!
the thameslink toilets are the headquarters for gangs in streatham
For a train review you hardly said anything about the train, for instance the ironing board seats the dual voltage capability on board Information screens that they are 8 or 12 car formations but in Germany by seaman's, run by windows 98 and you said served Gatwick which yes the class of train does but not the service you was on
As usual, it's raining at St Pancras.
On that line its all standard class as first class is declassified
A good review of a poor train, just a couple of points of accuracy. Don't confuse the train's maximum permitted speed with the route you took. You wouldn't have got anywhere near 100 mph. Likewise the service you took wouldn't have called at Gatwick Airport - the units do on other services.
The line speed was 100mph as stated on real time trains. I said these trains call at Gatwick airport, not that line, just a couple of points of accuracy for you.
@@danielstripreports I think I'd prefer Network Rail mapping to Real Time Trains, or perhaps you could confirm where exactly on the route you were able to achieve the speed. Won't argue about the use of 'this' or 'these'.
Send me a link to the rail mapping page, will use it in future videos, I usually go off realtimetrains info but if it’s more accurate then I’ll use network rail. Thanks
@@danielstripreports what's planned for future videos?
For future referance, it's pronounced more like Strea *t* am, than Strea *th* am.
Streatham has a silent H its pronounced Stret tum
Th******nk
What a horrible train no points in the standard class even the old 150 sprinters used on our valleys services have them Wimbledon station has twice as many shops compared to Cardiff central !!!
Im shocked but is that actual graffiti on the front and side?? If so then that's a first for a British train, because that's all you see on NYC trains. I thought Britain had better class than that.
