Hope you enjoyed the video! Also I hope you noticed a bit of an improvement with my camera quality as I got a new camera! 60fps at 4k videos are here with my new iPhone 14.
@@mrquickogaming don't know about the resolution, but 50fps is better than 60 in Europe, because our mains electricity is 50Hz, so recording at 60 causes flickering under artificial lighting.
With the exception of the Glasgow subway toiletless trains in Scotland where I live are a thing of the past. There used to be 3 toiletless trains here. These were Class 303 withdrawn in 2002 Class 314 withdrawn in 2019 Class 320 toilets added during 2011 refurbishment
The old Eurostar terminal at Waterloo serves Richmond and Hounslow services. Suburban services to Woking, Shepperton, Guildford, Dorking, Hampton Court, Chessington, and Kingston via Wimbledon use the platforms at the far other side of the station
Most of the time I’m on 159’s, 444’s, or 450’s, from Woking, but when I have to go to suburban routes for work, I do have a soft spot for these old trains
I bet the 455s are going to be more reliable then the 701 And plus I think lots of people forget not long ago the 455s have newer AC motors, I can’t remember when they got the AC motors but if they added toilets on the 455s I think they would be better then the 701s will ever be
I disagree to be honest, the 701s look to be decent trains, toilets, plug sockets and ac will benefit my daily commute a lot. Really hope they come into service asap. Will miss the 455s though, thanks for the comment
Good trip report! What frame rate are you filming in, there is a bit of flicker sometimes which gives the impression that you are filming in American frame rates and not European frame rates?
Personally I really love the 455s. They're not the newest, the fastest, the comfiest, or really the anythingest but they feel a lot less old than they really are, they're bright and airy and then do a grand job of moving lots and lots of people. They could definitely do with some toilets but for local routes where you can use toilets at the stations I guess it's not the end of the world (though no doubt my IBS might think different if I used them regularly).
Still they are going to be replaced by the Class 701 Arterios when they do enter service before the end of this year. But I think some of the Class 455 should be preserved.
@@danielstripreports the SWR ones that use the former LSWR route Wimbledon to East Putney where they curve off and vice versa also the curve that links Beckenham Jct and New Beckenham there’s also a XC service that goes Glasgow to Edinburgh avoiding Haymarket there’s a huge list if u do all of them that would be super
You say that you paid your fare with your bank card; I thought you could link your discount Railcard to an Oyster Card to get discount travel on London suburban journeys
I can't see those awful inter-connecting doors being accepted on more modern rolling stock nowadays, seems a shame for the commuters of SW London to have to put up with such units obviously passed their prime.
Hope you enjoyed the video!

Odd, set the settings to 4k 60, will sort that out next video.

Yep you’re correct
@@danielstripreports as Jack mentioned those routes can you do them?
@Darik Reading and Windsor use platforms 21-24. Exeter -> usually around platform 14
Great video Daniel. I'll miss the 455s when they go
@Darik lol 🤣🤣🤣
Good Video as always but remember SWR reach as far as Exeter St Davids on the WoE line which is a tad further than Weymouth
Indeed they do
Lots of memories of SW London where I lived as a kid before moving to Newcastle when I was 11.
