I also agree and asked a family member whom is a professional! Saying not to use tape like it's dangerous, it's not professional is your opinion and its merely a preference. How about stop getting hooked on one microscopic portion of the video and move on (people can do what they chose) and as for me I'm using the tape also since it'll make me feel even better and NO ONES LOOKING!"

Never wrap with tape! Unless the wirenut does not cover the copper completely! At that point you should trim the wire anyway!!!

Electrical tape around wire nuts is a useless step taken by people who aren't professional. Wire nuts have skirts that are designed to cover the bare copper conductor. if copper is still exposed, try using the correct size wire nut, or trim the wire. (The tape provides no benefit to the connection, If the connection is poor to start with it could melt the wire nut/Tape and become a nuisance to replace)

Might just make people think twice about removing it if they have to damage the connection/tape to get it off. I wouldn't use one of these if it was somewhere someone could get to and if i did i'd use tape. Sure they might not be an actual benefit to using electrical tape but it has no downsides so if people wanna wrap with tape its fine. You make it sound like it's dangerous to wrap in tape bu rather it's just pointless to you.

@@albenoit790 If you have moisture in your house, you should fix your roof. They make Specific wirenuts for Outdoor and Underground Use, Which use a Gasket and a type of grease. TAPE SHOULD NEVER BE USED OVER A WIRENUT. PERIOD. Its Unprofessional.

When connecting 2/more wires with a wire nut, there is nothing illegal under NEC to wrap with tape. In a building, it isn’t necessary, but when wiring a vehicle like an RV or Travel Trailer, the connections are subjected to high frequency vibrations. Locking down the wire nut is merely an additional safety measure. As for people here being “experts”, a true expert electrician would be first in line to acknowledge there are issues in moving vehicles not associated with daily work in houses/buildings. In fact, a standard electrician understands that wire and connectors are vastly different than those used in vehicular wiring harnesses. For vehicles, you CAN use solid core wire, but should NOT due to vibrations and bends to wire: can result in wire damage, electrode breakdown, and fire. You people should never make these hard-and-fast statements which are merely over-generalizations about NEC, ASWG, etc. You may have experience and preferences, but none of you have all the answers about all the topics...as based on your comments.

In US thats how its done. Wire nuts actually work remarkable well. Not seen tape on them before but cant see how it can do harm

Works the same as twisting them together
