I had a preacher's wife where I used to go to church tell me I needed to back off of so much bible and preaching on the radio by good preachers and all Christian themed everything because I would get burned out. I wish I had never listened to her. I was young in the faith and wound up walking away . She turned against me over something minor too and told me God had taken me off her heart. I left that church and wound up walking away from God for a few years though I never stopped believing in Him . I went back to him about 6 years later. Never let anyone discourage you or tell you you will get burned out. Stick with God and read the bible as much as possible. Dont fall for what I fell for !
Thank you for sharing that experience. It is a shame that happened. I tell people all the time 2nd Timothy 2:15. Your soul is too important to put in someone else's hands. God ultimately holds us responsbible for our journey. Study to show YOURSELF approved. Pastors can tell you anything and so many are not even saved. Put your trust in Jesus. When you Study the Bible for yourself, you will KNOW false teaching when you hear it.
How incredibly sad for you. So inappropriate for her to speak to you like she did. Christians are to always uplift and encourage one another, not to chastise one another for studying and learning about Jesus and His word, The Bible!! That is spoken from the enemy through that other person. It is issues in their life not yours! Flee from people and churches that preach and teach that false doctrine. So happy you returned to your walk and love for Our Precious Savior Jesus Christ. Only sad it took you six years to accomplish that, Praise God you did! Glory HALLELUJAH Praise Our God Almighty!! Love these Sermons because we are confronted with fake non believers pretending to be Christians from the clergy and some of the antendees of our local church As longtime Believers as Christians we are not falling for demon influenced pretenders in the Houses Of God. My faith is strong. I have been saved for 66 years. Wasn't a good Christian but Christ had my back. Always. Stood in front of me and death several times. But my best friend with whom I grew up, known for 63 years, only brother I ever had, is not saved. Doesn't believe in the Bible. It's just a book. Written by man. Says he doesn't need Christ to go to heaven. In my younger years I'm sure he saw very little of Christ in my so why pay attention. But the older u get, the more medical issues I survive, the more I am concerned for his eternity. And he rabidly opposes any discussions about his salvation. Says his God is all love so he is going to heaven. Obviously I have almost completely stopped trying to discuss the issue. Hasn't stopped my concerns. Besides prayers how do u deal with someone like this? And he has seen some miracles performed in my life! I've been flat line 5 times and still kicking. What can I do?
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Im waiting for God to deliver me from this sin too.. it started out of rebellion when I was younger..now I walk with Christ everyday praying he gives me the will to stop..pretty soon I prob won't be able to afford it.. I feel a distance from Him lately and I think its because of it and I dont know if its from a lack of faith i feel in Him toward delivering me from it, or believing the enemy's accusations regarding it, or if its that directly..but both leave me feeling off... and times aren't exactly making it easy..
The cure of unbelief for me was to stop questioning miracles, the thing I thought would end me actually was there to save me the timing all perfect never again will I turn my back on the one who delivered me time and time again god bless anyone who’s world is crashing down on them it’s a gift so stop relying on yourself or Other people it’s a short term fix give yourself and your problems to the most high and watch your life change.

Basically avoid wof and nar and Osteen and meyers etc. And be careful of those who do read the word in church but twist it.
