Baby this is it. The vocals are out of sight. I love Patti LaBelle but this version is my absolute favorite. In the words of Lil Richard it makes my toe shoot up in my boot.

This is how we heard it back in the day. This song helped put Sylvester over the top with "You Make Me Feel". The background singers went on to first be Two Tons of Fun, and then, The Weather Girls....Sylvester on the other hand, died from HIV/AIDS related complications after putting his stamp on the music industry.....
I have never heard this live performance. Sounds like church. I saw him sing with Patti LaBelle after she called him up for a duet, a great memory. Wonderful request!

I love Patti's version of this song but this is by far my favorite version. He was right..."your ear got to be in your foot, not to hear these women can sang!!!"
I'm just getting wind of this video. I've been a Patti fan since 11 years old. I'm 58. When I heard this song, not only was I in shock by this song, I felt that I had betrayed Patti Labelle because this is far better than her version! He took her song and made it his which till this day has never been done!!!! I hope that you read this ❤

This shows the connection that Sylvester and his girls had with his audience. Even if you can’t see it, you have to hear it.
HISTORY ON HISTORY......Sylvester was openly gay and wore drag onstage in the 70s and gave zero f...ks what anyone thought and still made it on the charts especially the dance charts....his biggest hit was "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real"....tragically he died a few yrs later after this song was recorded of AIDS
Now to the 2 women singing with Sylvester on this song.....they were known as Two Tons Of Fun which was later changed to The Weather Girls....they had many dance hits.....now lets fastfoward to the late 80s/ early 90s.....one of the darkest periods in music history.....it was the period when record companies were using sampled voices of poweful singers such as Martha Walsh who is singing in this song and then using models to lip sync the song pretending they were the singers....Martha's voice was one of the most used voice in this scandal until she sued.....so yep a lot of interesting history with these 3 singers.....btw.....Patti Labelle does a version of this song that will blow you away......great reaction

Sylvester was a very talented music artist, and could sang his ass off! He was an openly gay black male during a time when being that way was frowned upon. Especially in the music industry. The height of his music career was during the Disco Era. You Make Me Feel is one of his best known hits. Sylvester definitely left his mark in music. RIP Sylvester! 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
