I immediately recognized that "cindy has a human baby" guy from a video he did about Clone High, and in that video he claimed it was his favourite show ever and then couldn't name half the characters, even though there were like 7.
I cannot fathom anyone disliking the art style. Out of every classic revival from the last several years and nearly every new cartoon PERIOD, this is one of the only ones that hasn't made me think "So it looks like a hundred other shows, cool." Also as someone who watched a lot of Hanna-Barbera as a kid but can't really say he ever actually enjoyed it that much, this seems like the absolute best case scenario for such a revival. I'm legitimately interested in watching it. You dun good and we're proud of you, Yotam. 👍
I gotta say it's really strange thar people are like "nooooo. the ARTISTRY and VISION of Yogi Bear" which since it's inception was meant to be made cheaply and quickly.
I actually saw someone taking single frames and circling the gaps in the linework, saying "oh, look at all these gaps. These are animation errors that shouldn't be there." As though those gaps aren't in every frame of the show, almost like it was a stylistic choice or something.
Oh hey Arlo, fancy meeting you in Yotam's comment section. And, now, talking about the cartoon itself. When I saw the trailer I just thought the art design, animation and general style and humour where really interesting. I don't get the hate. I just loved that it was like: "hey, here's all these characters you probably already know since forever with a new style and some kind of adult-ish humour, enjoy." Now that I know that Yotam worked on it I'm even more interested.
I have a lot of friends who are incredibly excited about the show! The trailer got posted to multiple groups I was in, it's neat to see that you worked on it
Just wanted to say thank you for having my reaction in this video haha means a lot. It’s so cool that you got to work on the show, because it def shows the love you guys put into making this look not just good, but humorous as well to audiences. Very cool my dude! Much love man, & I can’t wait to finally watch this show when it comes out! -Tony aka AnimaTD
6:35 The show looks great! I've actually been hyped for this one, excited to see what you all do with it. Hanna-Barbera characters are some of the stronger contenders when it comes to reimaginings and reboots. Hell, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law proved that 10 times over. Also your comment at 4:12 got a big laugh out of me
My favorite part was where you spent an inordinate amount of time struggling to identify that you were seeing a hippopotamus during your session of insults and "actual hype" hahaha
Hey Yotam, congrats on working on the new Hanna-Barbera. Love seeing TH-cam Animators like you, OneyNG and PyschicPebbles getting out there into the public eye :D
I think how much fun the team had making this show is evident in the style, it looks great! I’m excited and I know like next to nothing about these characters lol.
i had no idea this was coming, i feel left out of the loop but OH MY GOD! mad excited for this, i hope it comes to Australia somehow, grew up with all the hanna barbera characters but with your art style its going to be amazing, awesome work Yotam
Although I want to enjoy nostalgia, the way how some of the characters have been re-envisioned was actually for the better. Augie Doggie & Doggie Daddy is one of the best reasons to watch JellyStone.
I really loved the animation of this show, it reminded me of Cas Van De Pol's animation style. But now that I now you worked on it, I can definitely see your style too.
You'd think these guys would know the names of characters from Harvey Birdman. Don't let these reaction yters get you down, everyone knows they aren't people.
This is really smart, the desire to reboot Hanna-Barbera shows may seem like a bad move at first, because the originals were so cheesy and similar to one another, but conglomerating all the characters into a single show is a good way to use the Hanna-Barbera cast. Honestly like 40% of them are just animals in fedoras so it make sense to put them together. I hope kids today get a kick out of it and when I'm old the children of the future will know who I'm talking about when I say the name Snagglepuss.
This was actually probably the coolest video you've put out this year. I actually laughed really hard at a few parts and seeing you legitimately get excited and happy about other people getting excited and happy about the show made me feel excited and happy.
I just finished watching the show and I absolutely loved it. While I did grow up watching some of the Hanna Barbara cartoons, I’ll admit I don’t remember a whole lot about them. The characters didn’t really leave a lasting impression on me either. When I saw the trailer, I thought it was cool that they’re bringing back a bunch of HB characters, but kept my expectations low. That is until I watched the first episode and i was left pleasantly surprised. I love this show, definitely one of my favorites of this year. And I think it’s cool to see someone who’s worked on the show react to people who like or dislike the trailer for it. Thank you for working on an honestly great show and here’s hoping for season 2!
Thats so cool Yotam, ill check out the show when it out (Don't know if it'll be available in Europe though). It's cool to see you get to storyboard and write your own episodes, and thank you for doing videos still for your 10k viewers, much appreciated! Awesome show, great job!
I personally don't think it's a crappy crappy Yotam and I am excitedly excitedly that this will fill a similar space in my life to that that Harvey Birdman did.
This was a surprisingly fun reaction video, and the understated music somehow meshes really well. I doubt I would have watched the show without this video, but I hope to try it now!

i just finished Jellystone. One of the funniest cartoons i have watched in years. just curious, who on the team was super gung-ho about decapitating the characters so often? hahah
OK so I’ve come back to this video, just to say that I’ve watched jelly stone three times now, and it’s easily the best show of this year, thank you for your contribution!
I'm watching the show right now and loving it. Its way better than the old hannah-barbara stuff. I dont know if you wrote the captain caveman making the bump on his head clap against his nose joke but that killed me
First of all, you are awesome! I know that was a really crappy year for you, but you did good. I just watched the trailer, and never thought I'd say this about Hannah Barbara anything, but it looks good! I have no idea why anyone would shit on the art style, it's a huge improvement from the original IP. Sadly, I am not a Hana Barbara fan, but that one kid seemed to like it and I think a kid's reaction is much more important than the others.
I love this guy, and hey don’t let the negativity get to you bro. People ALWAYS do this to reboots are remakes. I call it “reboot syndrome”. What it means is that people go into a show expecting to hate it simply because it’s a reboot, and if they end up np hating it they won’t say anything and keep quiet. People did the same with the duck tales reboot, now everyone is praising it. I’m beyond excited for this show, C.H Greenblatt is known to have amazing shows that are always cut short. Chowder cut short and Harvey beaks was cut short as well. He’s an amazing creator and I can’t wait to see the work you and your team has done alongside him
Yotam I really enjoy keeping up with your life . I know it's that weird Para social shit but it feels like checking in with a friend .also I miss news show lol .
Just want to tell you that the cartoon is extremely great and maybe one of favorites ever. Congrats to you and everyone else who worked on this. Edit: Peter Potamus getting called Magilla Gorilla was a moment of physical pain.
Cant wait to watch it. Seems like the older people are probably gonna give this a lot of hate since a lot of folks just see change as bad. I personally like the art style I think it's cute, and looks funny. And also I've been dying to see yogi bear in a cartoon that's not 3d for a while. Congrats on working on some cartoon history man! I hope you guys make some childhoods as fun as ours was.
My reaction: I love the show! The energy is infectious. I get all excited after watching an episode. I'm a fan of old HB stuff too, but yk, that's super repetitive, highly processed... The character designs are attractive, but they're drawn like newspaper cartoons and seem difficult to work with... Jellystone is on a whole 'nother level! I'm impressed by the animation, especially how tweens are used to sell expressions and gestures in specific ways (instead of just being generically bouncy). The team put those assets to WORK! And it seems everyone had a lotta fun playing with/pushing the new character designs. I'm not gunna lie I'm so hyped about the new nameless episode, I've rewatched it so many times already and I had completely lost hope that there would be anymore. I cant wait for more sad melancholic turtle vibes
The art style and animation doesn't bother me too much. It looks really good. It's more about the voices and personality changes of the characters. That's what bothered me about the trailer. But you working on it is a great opportunity and I'm so happy for you. Make your coin😎
Hey Yotam I finally watched Jellystone and liked it so I came back to watch this video and it made me sad that you said nobody cares about Hanna Barbera and everyone mocks it because I love HB and HB shows. The world needs more antro animals aping early-mid 20th century Hollywood stars!!
Holy shit. I usually don't like modernized classics, but when I saw trailer a few week's ago I was genuinely shocked at how good it looked and put it on my watch list. Now I know why it looked so good.
The people criticizing the animation quality are just letting you know that they've never actually seen an old Hannah Barbera cartoon before I grew up watching Boomerang and watching those shows - and there are literally GoAnimate Caillou Gets Grounded videos that have more impressive animation skills on display than those old factory-produced "Animal + Rhyming/Alliteration word" cartoons that Hannah Barbera churned out like a sweat shop back in the 60's Great work Yotam - have been following you since like 2007 and am glad the industry is taking note of your talent
@Frogger I implore you to watch one episode of, say, Yakky Doodle or The Impossibles - and count the number of distinct animation cels used. Just because those shows trigger a sense of nostalgia in us doesn't mean we can't make fun of how soullessly they were churned out.
@Frogger No, really. Hanna-Barbera cartoons back then had limited animation because TV budgets were smaller compared to animated movies and theatrical shorts. It’s not nostalgia speaking, that’s just how the TV industry works.
I’m excited for the show you with greenblatt it reminds of the 2017 boomerang wacky races reboot. A show that reimagines the Hanna Barbera characters and put them all in the same universe. Can’t wait for #jellystone for HBO Max. Always been a big fan of HB cartoons❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️
Legit found out about the series through this video because I'm still subscribed to you after a bazillion years. 🎶 Yo-taam, and Jellystone are... The! Best! Fwait, wrong intro. You know, I'm totally not the target audience for this and I'm not part of the Hannah Barbera fandom (if there is one), but it looks genuinely goofy and the derpy facial expressions and hand drawn style is charming. Lots of cartoons look super clean but don't cause much impression cause it's so uniformly stale, this one on the other hand has some goofy looking stuff and that's more of a vibe. Not a lot to dissect from a trailer except the drawing style and tone, but might check out the series and be like "Heheheh yeeee, Yogi Bear by LazyPillow". Here's hoping that the series does good. 🍺
Super excited about the show! Kind of reminds me a little bit of chowder in terms of some of the character styles but it retains a unique sense of creativity. Congrats on ur hard work
I've been watching your stuff since the DeviantArt days, when you told us we were "just tools that you use, you use us tools to get your precious page views". I hope you never stop making stuff because it's been consistently great. Thanks Yotam. :)
So when i watched the first trailer of this Show. i was very confused what it looked like, i wasn‘t it angry or offended. i mean i‘m don’t really like these veery simplistic style. but if any one like it, no issue. but when i look at the twitter comments on this trailer, they‘re mostly saying of Chowder. And it kinda makes sense how this turned to be a mix of Chowder and the few hanna barbera character. because i‘ve read that c h greenblatt was a fan of Hanna Barbera shows. so this is why many people recognize the elements of this new Jellystone show. honestly tho, i wasn‘t really evolved with Yogi Bear or the rest of the other animal characters. i mostly watched Scooby Doo and The Flintstone, because these where i grew up the most. so i seen just few but not really liking it but not hated it. when i saw mostly the tweets about this show, some people compared with Thundercats Roar and TTG, which i thought not that accurate, because these Shows where somehow kinda offensive (Not politically, i mean somewhat part that OG Fans where very angry about it). maybe they talking about the artstyle. that iss getting used to, it‘s understandable but that‘s not the same show. and even harass all around doesn‘t help much either. like i said i‘m don‘t like these simplistic style as long it‘s not too overused. but kinda makes sense to the creator. even tho the Character design where mostly simple. i‘m not really sort of anti simplistic guy because Adventure Time, Gumball or even Regular Show looked decent and it made sense but just overusing all around can be way off putting. it‘s kinda controversial nowadays but atleast it makes sense due to the creators choice. not all shows looks simplistic like the reboot of Ducktales or She Ra ones. but anyway, maybe the show will be decent. i don‘t wanna except too much but if many people like it, then watch it. if it‘s not, why bother :p.
little kid laughing at little kid cartoons is good content
That kid laughing was the highlight, your show will do well.

I now know a guy who works in the industry
Cool you worked on it! I hope to see Hair Bear and the CB Bears, Kwicky Koala show and more. Hopefully more seasons will come and they definitely can!
Super excited about the show! Kind of reminds me a little bit of chowder in terms of some of the character styles but it retains a unique sense of creativity. Congrats on ur hard work
This is good stuff you've been doing lately, you're a pretty good comedian like this.
It is really interesting to see how people genuinely react to your work!
Lookin forward to checkin this out and seeing how far youve gone since watchin your stuff on newgrounds dude MUAH.
“I’m being sued for malpractice”
that child dog is voiced by a child? that ain't right
It looked great, I’m excited for it!
I just looked when you said you got 10k view when you had 10k views. You are an oracle!
