Gas Station Manager Fired After Setting Price at 69 Cents
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 15 มิ.ย. 2022
- When word spread on social media that the price for gas was only 69 cents a gallon, people flocked to a Sacramento gas station to fill up. Now it turns out it was all one big mistake that cost the manager who set the price his job. John Szczecina says it was a simple error. The price of gas that day should have been $6.99 a gallon. Instead, Szczecina says he accidentally put the decimal in the wrong spot, making the price 69 cents a gallon.
Not only did he sacrifice his job to give many people basically free gas, but he also made the price *the funny.*

I'm really sorry for the guy for losing his job, but I'm definitely not sorry for the gas company for losing all that money.
You realize the gas company doesn’t lose money just the owner of the station & they make just a few pennies per gallon, the gas isn’t the profitable part of the business and you will fail without the inside sales. A mistake like this could be detrimental to a smaller station. They’re buying the gas to sell at a heavily inflated price as well.

So I called 1st place and asked if there were anything else wrong with my car, and they said "Nope." I acted like I didn't notice when I saw how many gallons were being put into the tank vs the dollar amount I was getting to, It seemed super slow but in reality the gas was flowing. The man across from me figured it out shortly after me and began shouting in joy for how much he was paying per gallon. I'll never forget that day as I was a broke college kid commuting my way to class that day. I was so stoned out of my mind that I thought I was going to be in trouble for continuing to pump after the attendant told everyone to hang up their pumps and start over, but the opportunity was so great I couldn't resist. I remember peeling out of there before the cops were somehow going to be called and force me to pay the real amount I had pumped, the weed had me real paranoid lol. I only used 3 dollars and some change out of the 5 dollars I put on the pump and because of the paranoia, I chickened out of asking for the difference back, which they probably wouldn't have given anyways considering I had just pumped about 10 gallons in my tank.
