Tough choice. I grew up in Ft. Worth, but I would never move back there. I hate crowds and I like a slow paced life. I can live that way just fine in Indian Territory. When it all comes down to it, if you have no wife, kids or “significant other” to worry about. You gotta do what’s good for your soul. When you make a decision, make sure, the best you can, to have no regrets. Stand firm and accept the consequences good or bad. You already have a good idea of what you’ll be facing if you go back to California. The only question should be, “Is it worth it?”.
I think if you were able to secure a job in the area you want to be, making the kind of money you're expecting, it would make the decision a lot easier. If you've got the resume built and can afford some trips to interview, go for it! Moving without any security will be so stressful, but knowing you're making what you want and you can set up a property manager for your place in Texas, a lot of that stress would disappear and you could really enjoy being where you want to be. IMO, You wouldn't be questioning moving if you truly wanted to be in Texas, so really make a go of it, but don't make any commitments until you know it's a sure thing. Best of luck justin!

The decision is a tough one…however, no matter the decision you make there’s no doubt in my mind you will succeed. I wish you great success in all that you do & keep us posted. Well Sir, it sounds like you're yearning for the West Coast. You've itemized the pros and cons so you aren't moving into any decision impulsively ( very good on your part). I'd say make sure you have 3 items checked off before you leave anywhere : Job, lodging and insurance. I think if you have those areas squared away you'll be fine. If you do decide to head out to California be generous with your timetable and have everything setup and waiting for you before you move.
Hun, if you can get in at a job, like Warner Brothers, etc...make money doing what you love, I think that is best for you! We only have this one life, and I'll tell you, there are a lot of things I wish I did differently...and if you keep your condo in TX, you ALWAYS have a "home" to come back to! I'm sure there's more to the story, but that's what I would do ❤
