    You need a reliable watch that you're not afraid to break? This is it. Casio is amazing both in how simple or complex their lineup can be. I have the 24 hour faceplate but it's still as simple as it gets.

    Fantastic watch. I have had mine for years bought in the mid 90s. I swim and shower in it, though I believe I shouldnt. It has taken abuse from waves while sailing. It often gets knocked with DIY. I have changed batteries a time or two, and had one new strap. I really like it. It looks good, it is light, and ultra reliable. as an old guy who is in and out of glasses for reading, a digital watch doesnt work for me as I have to reach for reading glasses. This one is very clear and I can read it without any problems. 😀Great that its still in production.

    This watch would be perfect for a preteen and get them started on wearing a watch. Nice clean dial. Strap is simple but effective. Color combination is classic. This will outlast any smart watch today or tomorrow and its analog. I'm surprised how many kids can't read analog watches or clocks. Long tangent aside. Great watch!
    Nice video.

    This is the best watch for a mechanic: small so it won't get stuck in tight places and doesn't hinder shirt sleeves movement, completely plastic so there is no danger of short circuiting, dial with good legibility even in low lighting, cheap so no worries if you knock it on something hard and break it.

    Although it's not the same font, everything else about this watch reminds me of the IBM clock (1947), which I saw around quite a lot since I worked for IBM decades ago. IBM had a basic design aesthetic which involved form following function, and in this case function means to make the clock face as readable as possible at a distance. This watch face is readable also, and striking in its stark simplicity. So for me, it reminds me of 1950s design, but it's also the anti-Rolex, the VW Beetle to the Mercedes.

    I've worn watches like this specifically because they are easy to replace.
    Between replumbing the house, building some new outbuildings, replacing fence posts, and maintaining various pieces of sh--... uh, machinery... on the homestead, I like to relax by pulling and rebuilding the diesel in my F350, readjusting the weather station for the upteenth time, building new garage doors, and replacing every last bit of the wiring from the 30A exterior outlets all the way to the main breaker of the house because the g--d--n m--------king Evil Space Monkeys that did the original work used stranded wire instead of solid 10 gauge.
    So yeah, I'm a little hard on my watches. Thanks for the review!

    This other version has military and standard time, plus yellow face: Casio MQ24-9B. I believe it is "cooler". On the other hand, as you certainly already know, the real nasty cheap Casio beater is the Casio HDA600B , with its wire bumper, lumed hands, 100M WR, 10 year battery, and a lil bigger case. It even improves a lot with a wider watch band. All the best, mate.

    • @TimeForAnotherWatch
      @TimeForAnotherWatch  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really like the MQ24-9B also and I agree that it does look cool. I looked for one of those but the price was much higher than the MQ24-7B, maybe that's because the MQ24-9B is more collectable?? The HDA600B is not really my cup of tea either, IMHO it would look better without the wire. Thanks for watching mate!

Strange thing is my watch has 4 screws holding the back on. I also have a MW24bll the orange version as my beater. What Casio suppose to make is the MQ24 Mickey Mouse version and yet I would love to see that and yet as Mickey Mouse watches are made by various companies, Casio only made a G Shock Mickey Mouse watch, but then the MQ24 Mickey Mouse version will have Casio have the MQ24 to outsell the G Shock while Disney makes money in the process for every MQ24 that Casio makes and sells.
    That means money for Casio and money for Disney, that means when Casio begin to boost sales of the MQ24 for a new version Disney makes a profit.
