40:39 Jettro, if you haven't been told already, it's death, period. The spell kept Baldur from _ever_ dying or being permanently injured, and Freya was so terrified because at his birth, the runes foretold he would die a "needless death", which she mentions during the period where Atreus was sick. Thing is, the only reason Baldur dies here, is because he was too mad with hatred and rage for her for doing the spell to listen to Kratos when he gave him a chance to walk away. He didn't _have_ to die here...and so he died a needless death, because of the spell Freya cast to prevent it in the first place.
44:08 Baldur dying means the start of Fimbulwinter, which leads on to Ragnarök. Ragnarök is destined to happen, meaning Baldur is destined to die to start it. To try stop it all from happening, Freya curses him with invulnerability to all threats physical or magical, having all living organisism's swear an oath to never hurt Baldur. Except for mistletoe, because Mistletoe was too young to swear an oath. Freya knew the prophecy and tried to change the outcome; Baldur most likely unknowing of it.
A little detail i didnt notice until later is that Atreus' eyes glow when he speaks the Old Tongue, a little tease of the fact that Language is one of his godly abilities. You can actually see it in Ragnarok as well when he tries to summon Jormungandr agai
26:24 So I know some people might be confused but allow me to explain it to you. That is a piece from the arrow given by Sindri (He called them Missiletoe remember?). Missiletoe, in the original myths is Baldur's only weakness. The only thing he's weak to are them and he can actually die from them. This is why Freya was so persistent and angry at the sight of them and told Atreus to change the arrows as she burned the missiletoe ones.
I paused at that exact timestamp and went to the comments and found this😂😂 thank you. I remember from playing it she didn't like the arrows but I didn't remember where I got them or why I didn't have them anymore.
44:00 This is just my speculation Jettro, but this might help. Remember Freya has _nothing_ right now, except her friends in Midgard, the boar and the turtle, and so much of her life, her position as a Vanir goddess, her marriage to Odin, the world around her, have all either turned out horribly or are falling apart around her, and considering all that, the only thing she had left to comfort herself with, was the fact that her son, her "dear sweet boy" was still alive, if miserable and hating her. With him gone, Freya feels like one of the last remaining things that made her previous life as a proper goddess, and in particular the wife of Odin, is gone, and she now has practically nothing, no ability to fight, no chance to return home to Vanaheim, no support among the Aesir, etc., so, along with her beloved son being dead, how that ties into the _rest_ of what happened to her is hitting her again. Like Freya said earlier, she ultimately "did this for herself". She lost _her_ son, and one of the last things that was good from _her_ life before Midgard.
To explain the zombie frost giant, Mimir talks about how Thor killed him and he froze the village with his last breath, Freya is possessing his body with her magic but it doesn't reanimate him fully just enough to use the body to fight.
Atreus was goated during the final fight, tanked the hit from baldur and kept fighting, all the snipes he got, and the tag team combos with kratos, baby boy was *COOKING*
I've been rewatching this videos cause your reactions are top tier man. Mad entertaining. You bet your ass ima watch you play ragnarok after I finish my playthrough
I have watched and watched and rewatched this episode a million times Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhh Your reactions and expressions are crazzyyyy Like how can you chunk out this amount of energy I def wanna see you play New game + and also ragnarok
In Norse mythology Freya makes baldurs immune to harm from everything except mistletoe. Hence why sindris mistletoe arrows removed the spell. Their relationship is not vague. It's discussed throughout the entire game..
Hello, good afternoon, I live in Brazil and your video is recommended because I always see reactions, I saw you playing Go of War and I thought your reactions were timely.
You should fight all the Valkyries next cause you finished the story. Same with finding the hidden land behind a gate and other side activities I guess you finished it cause most videos are a week behind.
Hey Jett if you love this game then I highly encourage you to look up the stories and sagas of norse mythology. So much stuff happens in those stories that might help you understand baldur, Freya, and ragnarok.
Hope y’all enjoyed the vid! Still tryna get my voice back😂
Bro when valkiries is on air you need to throw your axe atreus arrows don't work because they not powerful enough
I love you bro keep going

25:53 punch
34:01 sharpshooter 34:37
35:27 kick
37:56 tag team
38:40 snake
39:14 not a threat
44:27 Kratos tells Atreus
46:46 if it meant you would live
Atreus really was really cooking in that baldur fight

Jettro calling Atreus baby boy is everything 😂

half* of his body, i think thor severed his spinal column or freya isnt strong enough to use the other half
I know for a fact the whole time I'm playing Ragnarok whenever I parry I'm gonna hear "GET PARRIED NIGGA!" In my head
The cycle ends here, Kratos sounds just like his dad
These videos are awesome. They remind me of the golden era of TH-cam.
Atreus was goated during the final fight, tanked the hit from baldur and kept fighting, all the snipes he got, and the tag team combos with kratos, baby boy was *COOKING*
27:07 No, she reanimated the dead giant.
Basically, a giant zombie.
39:36-39:52 EXACTLY.
Baldur walking out of the icy water like Jason f*ckin’ Vorhees is just plain intimidating.
Atreus was in his bag with that fight.
Man, your crazy reactions. I love your energy. +1 sub. All love and support from France
I was waiting for this dude to upload this cause he got the most hype gameplay and when I saw the tik tok I went straight to TH-cam

Baldur was protected by the oaths that was made by everything in the nine realms except for mistletoe to not harm him
"You could have walked away "
You could have too.
Baldur was such a good ass villain. Thats peak right there
Tbh I like Baldur boss fight more than Odin boss fight
@@MoyLoaf I do too, it felt more like a final boss. I thought the Odin fight should've been more of Odin showing his insane amount of power
NGL jettro my top5 TH-camr rn he hits like the old days when gaming was fun
Jettro didn’t realize he could have interrupted the valkyries hover attacks 😂😂
When you looking closer to Baldur face, he is exactly like Odin, like Yung Odin
You are the best
Luv your videos they be making my day
Just to remind you, kraits was cursed with immortality, he cannot be killed no matter what, not even with the sword he used to kill zues!
She only wanted to spare herself grief that’s why she put that spell on him in the first place so he wouldn’t die and it would spare herself grief
im just sad that Baldur died, he really was irredeemable and it wasnt even his fault

When you get to the Muspelheim Valkyrie, you'll be ready. These challenges will sharpen your skills 100%.
The curse was to prevent Fimbulwinter which when that starts, Ragnarok starts.
Greta was trying to protect him from dying a needless death that was foretold
Love you’re vids man keep op the good content
I could be wrong but I think God of war Ragnarok soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy
