I think as a country we should now look into composting and returning nutrients to our farms! Whatever is biodegradeable please compost usipeleke ndandora dumpsite! Organic farming is the way to go.
There's a fertilizer company in the interior part of West Pokot that purchases Yara fertilizer then adds rocks and other crushed maize cobs then repackages/brands them as Fanaka. The end product is very popular in the market. Let me know if you need directions. It's run by Indians.

I saw this fertilizer last season at NCPB depot at Yala, Siaya county when I had gone to inquire about the subsidized fertilizer from the National Government. Thank God my instincts were against buying this GPC "organic fertilizer". I would be counting loses now. This government will show us dust with their get rich quick schemes. It's so unfortunate.

My cucu bought fertilizer last year, and she only realized it was fine particles of stones this year when she was planting. Not sure if it's sand or murram. I'll ask her to know if the fertilizer is branded the same as this.

Lucky enough i didn't buy the fertlizer. I once matched to the Ncpb and i was convinced to buy it but i didn't. And now i heard this news.😮😮😢 am completely schoked

Most of the blame should be on the ministry and KEBS. As an extention guy I can tell you all NCPB does is receive, distribute and market the materials. The entre system is even cashless even. I don't think vetting suppliers is the board's job. Nice report tho and about time you guys opened an mpesa donation platform...

African ancestors's ways of farming are good. Fertilizers, the chemical ones are not substitute of those ways. Actualy they play diferent roles leading to good yields.

Also another issue with subsidized fertilizer is the low quality and wrong fertilizer in the first place. Like DAP. Kenyan soils are so acidic but for some reason DAP is still being subsidized.
