Honestly, this sounds great. We can compare it to everything else, but it has its own character. For the hobbyist, it's probably not a necessity, but for the professional...it could be a nice addition.

Of note: - For next time, in the tech world when saying GUI it's pronounced 'Gooey' (not a big deal but I thought I would let you know) - The GUI looks very nice - I agree with your assessment. I downloaded the demo of The Softube Harmonics plugin and it sounds great and I want to buy it!
To give an exaggerated representation of what it does. It’s much easier to pick up on the effect this way rather than just adding it subtly. Sure it’d be nice if level matched, but kind of hard to do when you only have a mouse and can only control one knob at once

@@joshuacook6981 It depends what your ears tell you, I personally don't like the way Saturn sounds on certain sources, like vocals. Whereas this or Decapitator always shine on vocals as parallel distortion. Just because Saturn is the be all and end all for you, doesn't mean it outshines what this/decapitator do in 'every way'. I hate that kind of mentality, it's the kind of dogma that only those in the audio industry can muster.
whats with them dam drums in all tutorials on the internet . o I know because they cant sing :) no really do some more on vocals real music not that spoken rap crap we can all do that , Warmly from us in lock down New Zealand

This is one of the best sounding saturators I've ever heard! I love the "solid." I can definitely hear the difference when you bypass.

Im basically using this as post mastering polish for final mastering, I believe this is most proffessional sounding sat plug in

This can do a lot of things. Very versatile.
How does it compare to the Soundtoys Decapitator?
80% of sound is in the gui.
Some of us have detailed enough ears where the remaining 20% matters.
Is it still best ? Compared to Waves Abbey Road Saturator, what do you think? I like Softube plugin sound and generally I don't like Waves sound :)

Masters analog emulation? they are pretty good. but there is UAD. and even better Acustica Audio :) but this thing is very nice

softube is in the same league but with no dsp add-on and low latency and cpu.
There are Softube plugins on UAD, and they make plugins for them.

No, it isn't the best. Fabfilter Saturn outshines this plug-in in almost every way.
