      You can try swimming out from Seal Rock in La Jolla.
      Here is a map of other spots you can fish: nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=117476&inline

      @@kuang01 Appreciate the kind words. Yea, unfortunately, the swells lately have been less than ideal. Maybe this weekend may be ok. Dive Safe!

    Great video; any experience chasing YTs with a polespear by chance?

    • @divespeareat
      @divespeareat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ooo man...I still have yet to catch a YT with a speargun. Yellowtail with a polespear would be nuts! Your aim has got to be on point, or that thing would take you on a ride if it is a good size.

      @@divespeareat Agreed! I'd absolutely be using a float line if I were to go out specifically targeting them with the polespear. I've encountered some pretty curious ones while freediving before, and I've always wondered haha...anyways, hope you get the YT soon!

      @@RadheadFilms That would be so sick! If you get it on film send it over. I really hope this upcoming summer I could get one. Really looking forward to targeting them this summer!

    How the water, is it super cold?

    • @divespeareat
      @divespeareat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The water was not too bad around 60 degrees, but you feel the cold after 2 ish hours in a 5mm suit.

    Ever considered mentoring a newbie spearo?

      I haven't but I would recommend joining a local spear club. Plenty of helpful divers out there with way more experience than myself.

      Appreciate the kind words. The spot I cover is around Seal Rock and Children's Pool in La Jolla. Hope that helps.

      @@rdsspearfishingadventurer Definitely check out wind, surf, and swells to give yourself the best chance for decent conditions. The last couple of times I had gone was not the best. Here is a site I use regularly to track conditions: magicseaweed.com/Scripps-Pier-La-Jolla-Surf-Report/296/
