Visiting Iconic Kapoor' Haveli in Peshawar | AZAM MUNIR
This short documentary or video blog is about an old Haveli in Peshawar which belongs to the Indian wealthy Kapoor Family. This iconic Kapoor's Haveli can still be seen in Mohallah Baqir shah of Walled city Peshawar.
The building was constructed before the partition of India, between 1918 and 1922, by Dewan Basheswarnath Kapoor, father of Prithviraj Kapoor, the first member of the family to enter film industry in 1928 as an extra in his first film, Be Dhari Talwar.
Famous Bollywood actor Raj Kapoor was also born in this Haveli.
Kapoors were Punjabi Hindus, they left Peshawar as well as this Haveli after Hindustan partition.
KPK government is taking step to convert this Haveli into a museum.
