Zef, thank you so much, I copied this tutorial step by step (many times) but I am now standing in SL looking at a dress I textured. I've never been so proud of myself. Thank you so so much. I will not lose this smile today! Wonderful tutorial.
Wow thank you so much I had to watch it more then one time and keep watching I am trying to learn how to do it. I think this is one of the best ones I have seen thank you again well done and you did not rush or go wicked fast so it was very very understandable.
I'm getting stuck on the part where you use the lasso to cut around the bodice and sleeves. I can do the cut, but my bodice and sleeves do not turn white. Did I miss a setting? Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us; but I have one more doubt: I am new in designing clothes and I want to know how you did so that the clothes had an internal part and still texturize all the clothes only with the uv map of the external part? I hope you understand me.
mesh is usually done without "backface culling" er I don't know if that is the right spelling, but the inside doesn't actually have a "face" so it will look same on inside as the outside (see thru) unless you got some odd mesh.
th-cam.com/video/e22q1kMW0IA/w-d-xo.html That tutorial I did show how to install that brush kit and where I got it from. You can draw stitches of any sort with that. I did switch to photoshop but I think Gimp can take brushes the same way.
Which version of GIMP is being used? I have tried to follow along with 2.10.12, but there seem to be so many differences between what I am using and the one in the video it becomes impossible to follow along.
oh dear,.. I hadn't considered this going forward... it was the one from 2016 or perhaps a tad older at the time..(sorry I thought it was current when I made the vid) Which parts were throwing you off, I found newer gimp versions to be very much along the same lines.

I am sure if you are used to it is not a big deal, but to a complete beginner it means a lot of searching and even finding videos with newer versions. But they are helping me a lot, In less than a week I have gone from nothing to now at least making some basic textures.

Hi, I have a question I am new using GIMP, and when I use the lazo tool it doesn't work for me. First of all if I select one part of the layer it will not go back to the white color of the shadow map, and second when I click on the second section of the layer it will remove the previous selection. What are you exactly doing while using the lazo tool?

In version 2.10 something and I don't see a color to alpha option in the colors tab. Is it somewhere else now or called something else?

I have selected with lasso tool and pressed delete key. Make sure you are on the layer that you intend to delete from.

Thank you so much!
the information is excellent. the presentation drags just enough to challenge the attention.
