When I first arrived Malaysia in 2009, I only had in my mind the intention to complete my first degree. However, something unexpected happened, Limkokwing Foundation wanted to honor those who graduated with First Class. I was lucky to be amongst the students who qualified, and I was given a scholarship to do my masters. Furthermore, in 2012, after completing my masters, Tansri gave me my first professional job as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT). There in FICT, I had the privilege of attending and even conducting so many workshops, training and exhibitions. Being there also availed me the opportunity of meeting and interacting with more than (40) amazing colleagues, and most importantly over 1500 outstanding students from more than (91) countries - We are called the “united nations of universities” for a reason. That will soon be followed by another scholarship (worth RM40K) to do my PhD under staff development and another appointment as Research Compliance Specialist. While working for Limkokwing, I also had opportunity to visit other countries where our campuses are located. This and many other memories are reasons why I will be eternally grateful to the man who gave me the WINGS TO FLY. Malaysia bade farewell to one of the most prominent figures in its higher education sector on Tuesday (June 1) when Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing passed away at the age of 75. May eternal rest be granted unto him. May everlasting light shine upon him. May the Limkokwing family remain patient and strong in facing this moment of grief.
May his soul rest in perfect peace. I am who I am because of him. I have wings, I fly and shall continue Flying. Rest legend, rest. You have surely given out your all in this life. You made a mark that will never fade away.
@@chan27 of course I agree with your comment. However, one does not have to be personally linked with him to feel negative effects, it’s more painful to feel for others who have been through the pain
