- According to John Calvin, knowledge of God and knowledge of ourselves are intimately connected. It is important, therefore, that Christian leaders in the church teach and defend what God has revealed about the origin and nature of man. We did not evolve from lower life forms, and our lives are not a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Ligon Duncan discusses that we are created in the image of God for His sovereign purposes.

Excellent message! I especially appreciate Dr. Duncan's commenting on the issue of racism through the context of the imago Dei, which is the only framework through which that issue should be addressed. I often reference Acts 17:26 as an apologetic in my own discussions with others on this matter, particular among those whose perspective on racism has been formed through the lens of liberation theology.

How could the creation account include an apologetic against the gods of Babylon when it was written before the ascendancy of Babylon and occurred even before Moses time?

I think he misses the core purpose of imageness: being able to enjoy God in communion with him and to enjoy the wonder of his creation to reflect it in the thrill of praise.

Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself.
We are the fallen angels kept in DNA chains of darkness.
If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Satan's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever.
Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of God.

H430 Elohim = angels, gods (little g).
Right there, he called you a god (angel) that shall die like man, and fall. A fallen angel.

The verse you quoted doesn't say anything about humans being fallen angels. The Pharisees were doubting Jesus' divinity so Jesus quoted a verse from the Psalms to refute their unbelief. In the Old Covenant age of Israel, rulers and kings were often called Elohim, which is Hebrew for god. They were never considered to be fallen angels.

He is a REFORMED THEOLOGIAN !! That means BIBLICAL!! CALVINISM is REFORMED THEOLOGY - which also means BIBLICAL...... there were many REFORMED THEOLOGIANS around before Calvin wrote his Institutes of the Christian Faith - faithful believers who were Biblical and who were persecuted by the Roman Church. Calvinism has been turned into a dirty word or a word used to denigrate solid Biblical teaching by those who are Arminian - those who do not want to face up to the SOVEREIGNTY of God which is taught throughout the Bible........so who are the heretics????
