I guess people are just trying to find jobs that's all. There are tons of aspects that needs to be looked into while being a data analyst. Basic Statistics will make a good base. Project portfolio is fine but better than that one needs to skill up.

So non IT guys should start with Excel...and not SQL...these YT videos give si many roadmap and tricks...etc...but in reality it takes more than just efforts to learn SQL..
