Love Football on a baseball field. The Orioles were less than a month away from winning the World Series.

Amazing how the Bears became a premier defense a year later and led in sacks and then the ‘85 Bears

This was the Bears' first game in Baltimore since 1970, and their last one there against the Colts and in Memorial Stadium. They had played there 16 times from 1953-1970. The Colts moved to Indianapolis after the 1983 season. The Bears didn't return to Baltimore until the 2001 season opener in a 17-6 loss against the Ravens. The Bears upset the Ravens in 2017, which was their first win in Baltimore since 1965 against the Colts.

John Manier wow, thanks! Didn’t realize it’s been since ‘65

I wonder what made the Colts move to Indianapolis from Baltimore? It could have been because of the recession that hit during the early 1980s and the Colts were losing money left and right and the fan base wasn't there much to cheer them on.

Scooby Carr - Because Robert Irsay is an incompetent moron! There is a good reason why John Elway ended up a Bronco despite being drafted by the Colts!

John Manier - And I bet if the Colts were still in Baltimore, then they would still be in the AFC East instead of the Dolphins. Robert’s brat, Jim was pretty upset with the 2002 division realignment you see.

Mike Pagel wore #18 for the Colts, which Peyton Manning also wore.

If I'm not mistaken, the Bears did not have much success with the Colts with Johnny Unitas at the helm as Baltimore's QB.

That might be so, but the 1963 Bears swept the Colts in their championship season. Unitas was awesome though....

The Bears were 10-13 against the Colts in games Unitas played, including 6 straight wins from 1961-1963. The Colts won the last 3, in 1967, 1969, and 1970 (Unitas didn't play in the Colts' win in 1968).
