- We have an exciting update of our dream house in the Philippines. This house is for us to retire to very, very soon! Jane has worked hard overseas to save money to fund the project and together we will finish the house.
We will be there in the next couple of months, COVID-19 (coronavirus) hopefully not stopping us, and we will have a full tour then. In the meantime please watch our update and ask us any questions about building a house in the Philippines.

Your home is coming along nicely; I enjoy watching the videos. My (now) wife and I met 5-years ago in Palawan, and we lived there for three years. She is from nearby Naval, Biliran. We now live in southern Nevada USA, just south of Las Vegas. My wife will be traveling to Ormoc to look for some land in the next few months. With any luck, perhaps you guys will be there at the same time and she can pick your brains about real estate and who you are using to design/build your home.. ;-) Perhaps someday soon we will be mga-kapitbahay.

@@AdamandJanesLifestyle Well, this whole "Corona Virus issue" may put a temporary halt to plans, but we're still planning on a home there. My wife is/was planning on a trip over to Leyte in the next few months to look at property, but like I say, plans may change depending on this virus.. ;-( In the mean time, I've started studying some Cebuano; the three years in Palawan did not prepare me for Leyte...haha They speak Tagalog there. Fingers crossed someone comes up with a vaccine sooner rather than later so people can start making travel plans with confidence again.
@@1uncleriko after painstakenly learning cebuano, you then noticed that your neighbor are speaking waray, hahaha

If your greater earning power is outside the Philippines (say U.K.), it may be best to stay in U.K. where at least you are generating money until coronavirus restrictions are over in both countries.

I’m a bit worried that there’s so many natural disasters in the Philippines, what precautions (if any) have you taken in case of earth quakes, typhoons, floods, etc? Any tips/ advice appreciated! How did you resource the labour?
We had an architect design the house and it has been checked every step of the way. Family are sourcing the workers but Filipinos are very good, knowledgeable and honest :)
