They suffered so much losses and spent too much money that they were forced to withdraw due to public clamor. Luna was the MAN. This film gives us a better understanding of him and his vision for our country. He was probably the most misinterpreted hero but he was steadfast and strong. If only we could re-do or re-write our history..

I remember this movie was first aired in United states back in 2016 and a lot of americans like it especially General Luna. He gained the respect and gratitude of the americans that time for his bravery and ability to lead his soldiers. He even have a monument here in Charelston to comemorate him. This monument marks the start of strong bond between Filipinos and Americans 🇺🇸🇵🇭

Hope Phillipinese will have more and more film about their history. I hope they will made some film which take place in 17-19th century, when they still is Spain's colony. I don't really know anything about Phillipine during that period.

In 17th century there were only small skirmishes. 18th century the most prominent uprising is the Diego Silang is an ilocano who leads a revolution Ilocos and conspired with the British because the British occupied Manila only just a year. His revolt ended when he was betrayed and killed by his most trusted friends. His revolution was continued by his wife Gabriela Silang by 6 months and soon was caught and executed by Spanish government.

I am happy and proud that this movie has been made. The message of this film is very important. The production of this movie seems good and any criticism on any tiny detail seems too much. If I am to say any criticism though; Luna and the rest of middle class Filipinos spoke Spanish (Luna is already a controversial figure, making him speak Spanish will only antagonize him.) This is not a film about its aesthetic quality but for an attempt to accurately portray Luna and to better tell the Philippine Revolution. People don't realize that there was much politics involved during those days, the same politics that still hound the Philippine government today. This is just not a movie, but a very good yet underlooked history lesson. I used to tell myself that if an Antonio Luna is not made, I will make one. Cheers to everyone involved in this project!

I've loved Luna ever since I read about him in the books. The movie gave me so many feels. I'm so in love with John Arcilla's acting of bringing Luna to life. Praise the studio and the people that made this movie possible.

It's not really just pride. You know, Luna has his fair share of betrayal before he even left the Philippines.
Why they don't follow him has reason and is justified in many cases.
1. He betrayed the revolution at the start.
2. He became a high general without even a bit of experience in battle.
3. Filipinos doesn't have a proper military, they don't know how the military back then even work and Luna just came back and said "I'm the leader now".
4. Luna has no experience in war

Ang daming katulad ng ibang heneral o sino pa mang nanungkulan noon at ngayon na pride and power ang laging pinaiiral. Kung sana lahat ng nanunungkulan ay naging tulad ni Luna, baka mas nagkaisa at umunlad pa tayo. We need more movies like this to get to know our past and maybe learn from our mistakes from the past.

Generals in the phil revolution are like generals in the ancient Chinese kingdoms. They might be affiliated with one kingdom but they don't follow each other because they all thought they are equal except the king. Luna was the chief of military affairs but since others see him as a general still, some didn't accept his full authority. Being indecisive, ambitious, and fearing luna will outshine him, emilio had him killed. 🤷♂️

I really do agree. In my experience being with multiple nationality, managing with workers in multi nationality . Eto msasabi ko sa mga pinoy..."sayang kau pre, maabilidad nga sana kau kaso minsan kalimitan mtitigas ulo at mas maabilidad sa kalukohan..usually dito ngsisimula ang pgkawatak2.. dahil kesyo si bisaya ganito, si ilokano gnyan at ang mga tgalog ewan lang...pero mga Pilipino mga yaan. Sila sila lang ngpapataasan..kahit ngayon nkikita ko pa rin yan. So why expect changes when we still trailing the same road since time we still do not have that discipline and the respect that we should have.
