I just love the basic, down to earth and modest vibe of this channel, no bullshit, interesting and entertaining content.
Production quality has increased and more projects are the only major chances I've witnessed since subscribing back during the Pt.2 of the Blazer build.

Lately it's been a routine where you upload on Saturday morning and I watch while I eat breakfast before I go to the garage to work on my own project car engine. Not this week. This week I'm taking a break because I finished tearing my engine down and now I'm waiting for the heads and internals to come back from the engine shop. Thanks for being part of my restomod routine.

The exhaust flange/head bolt problem is quite common on big block Chevys. Even high quality headers (Sandersons, at $1000+, for example) run into the heads of the short head bolts if you have ARP bolts. There are 3 solutions. 1. Switch back to stock head bolts, which are lower. 2. Grind clearance into the exhaust flange. 3. Grind down the bolt heads. (In some cases omitting the washer under the bolt head will get you enough clearance.) #2 is the commonest, requiring the least destructive changes to your engine. You can drill small holes in the dipstick at the full and add levels to make it easier to read, but I sandblasted the dipstick an inch above the full line and an inch below the add line and that makes it much easier.

I'm definitely no expert on the matter, but I don't believe modern Quaker State oil causes problems like some of the older formulations did. I've used it in quite a few engines over the last few years because of the price and availability, and haven't noticed any issues.
