The future of classic is true classic plus being the main draw, with vanilla--->tbc---->wrath rotating servers on the side. And these would of course NOT be "no changes" versions. Things like chronoboons in vanilla and catch up currencies in wrath that were made during the classic reboots would be included. Other than that, everything pre-nerf at least for a good while in terms of raids. The numbers/raid logs show that WOTLK is the limit in terms of what the classic player base wants to deal with in terms of raid difficulty/structure, as there was a massive drop off in these logs in cata going forward, so there is no need to go any further than wrath.
Anything else is garbage. This way, any lulls in classic plus are immediately filled by the rotation vanilla/tbc/wrath servers. No one wants just another fresh no changes vanilla server. Go play private servers or era with the other 5 people in the world who want that if that's what you want, the rest of us don't have access to what we want.
I have been saying that classic needs to run its course from vanilla all the way through the end of wrath and then reset. It could be a 4-6 year server life span..

Actually, I just realized that the fresh server / character concept is EXACTLY how Diablo Seassons work since Diablo 3. So it is a no-brainer for them to do it and add a few modifiers per reset (like in diablo, already tested in SOD). I think it would be a very good move from Blizzard
Classic+ IF done right would be appreciated by many fans. But it has to be made by a dedicated and devoted dev team. Any half-assed approach won't work. Even tho I hope we get a C+ one day, considering how small and split the classic dev team is, I fear we're not going to get the proper C+ we seek. But not going too crazy with it. It's called CLASSIC still, not Retail minus or w/e, so no 20 retail abilities etc. And to add more NEW content. The entire point of a Classic+ is to expand on the world, map and zones. NOT just resued content or as the devs call it, "reimagined".
There are many empty spots in Vanilla world to expland on. Both quests zones, more NEW dungeons and ofc also continue its lore and so on.
They can just hire Turtle wow devs but as far as im aware, blizzard pays very bad so there wouldnt be a reason for them to join but these dudes proofed they can do it and do it right
As long as Aggrend is involved I can promise you the only approach will be half-assed.

Honestly the best way forward is Classic to TBC to Wrath and when the next expac comes out just make a new fresh realm for actual Classic because, frankly, it's the only version of the game worth a shit. TBC was alright
one of the things that was interesting about original TBC was that all the T4 and T5 raids were accessible right from the start, and so was Hyjal. it would be kinda cool to see what an Archimonde race would look like

Blizz just has to copy Turtle Wow for Vanilla + changes, paladins having crusader strike, holy strike a taunt, mana from blocking.

I'm afraid that Blizzard is incapable of coming up with something more creative than putting Vanilla/TBC/WOLK on a seasonal rotation. A bunch of incompetent people work there. But if their recruitment policy was not based on competence in the field but how hot milf you are or how much pink hair dye you use then it's no surprise.

fresh vanilla to wrath progression servers with TBC and Wrath Era servers would make the most amount of people happy i think. when the fresh servers are set to progress into TBC, give players the option for free transfers to Vanilla Era if they don't want to continue into TBC. when the progression servers are set to progress into Wrath, give players the option for free transfers to TBC Era if they don't want to continue into Wrath. and then when that first round of progression servers reaches the end of Wrath, those servers just become the Wrath Era servers

TBC and Wrath era realms ARE NEVER HAPPENING. PERIOD. They've said it multiple times it would be more detrimental to Classic overall than beneficial

I would welcome a cycle of fresh servers, all from vanilla -> tbc -> wrath trio or just a stand-alone. However! That said, it must be at normal speed. Like 1.5 year in between.
If not, and they go with a short 1 year period, that means they'll just cater to the speedrunners and sweat lords and ofc NO wow token, no exp or level boost!
It was one of the reasons SoM failed. Might not been the biggest reason but 1 year before next thing is too fast. Let people enjoy the current ride.
So if 2 years would be too long and ppl would maybe complain that they are bored, got nothing to do etc, so something between 1-2 years, hence 1.5 years has my vote.

Is there so many people who want to play fresh? honestly... I wouldn't.. I gave up after 2 days of Season of Mastery, I didn't play hardcore, and the only reason I play SOD is because of the new content. If they release a fresh server, I have zero interest into that. Give me Classic+ anytime though.
Listen, you want to create three unchanged servers for Vanilla, TBC and Wotlk players? Why? And who will play it? How many will play it? You are clearer that if there is no MASS and no NEW content, the server will be dead in a few months. There are those players who play on retail, there are those who play on SOD, or both. Why do you want to share the current classic player base who still play classic just because of the crowd?
I came to era full time last May and from May till december, era had A LOT of players. The game was thriving and alive like a popular 2019 server. SoD came out and took away quite a bit of the pop but era is still alive and well. Anyone can make a character horde or alliance and have no problems finding groups and doing all content. Lots of us want fresh and I believe that blizzard doing a fresh would be bigger than they realize. Sadly, I don't think we'll get one till SoD ends which is more than likely spring of next year.
Never imagined a time blizz 20 yr ann would come and "well it would cost very little debelopment and maintenance time, they could just do new servers".... If i was blizz and 20 ann coming around and thats my standard bar i would feel pathetic.
No classic plus? No huge surprise? No REAL delevlopment on classic. They will never really build on classic and that sucks.

All blizzard has to do is offer boosts for each of those classic fresh servers and they will make bank. So many people will be fine paying not to have to level
We can't all have what we want because everyone plays different classes and wants their own classes buffed and other classes nerfed etc etc.
SoD started on the right foot. The runes gave us some fun utility to play with and much needed buffs for certain specs and playstyles (Like Arms Warriors for more PVE liability)
HOWEVER....things just got way out of hand and by phase 3 & 4, it basically started to feel like pre-Wrath/Cata but with vanilla content and level cap.
I've been loving sod, increase exp buff = not have to do every quest/dungeon, classes like warrior getting victory rush = no eating/bandaging after every 1-2 mobs, world buffs frequently going off = faster/risky leveling (lose buff if die). I'd probably mage blizzard spam in dungeons, if we got classic without any changes to make leveling faster.
I would like a fresh classic through wrath, since I didn’t start until well into Wrath. With that being said though, I’d ultimately rather have classic +. Sod is great imo. Has some obvious problems but if they implemented a voting system for content/changes it could be amazing.
Take vinalla, tbc, and wrath make them one game with a lvl 60 cap. Balance all raids to tier sets at lvl 60. Add heroic to all dungeons. Add some dailies to vanilla. Add all deleted content from vinalla, tbc, and wrath over a few updates in the 1st year. Get another 20 year cash cow with little maintenance on blizzards end.

Yes, a fresh Classic server, BUT with updated graphics. Something that looks like the video 'Goldshire Remastered' by GameMorph AI. Give the look and feel a HUGE update. That would be so cool.
Wouldn’t it be easier to have all eras like, classic, TBC, Wrath of the Lich King in the same severs, and allow the players to play though the story campaign of their own time?
With so many people being unhappy with sod I don't know how anyone thinks Classic plus would be much better.
Adopt the diablo 2 Ladder construct for the trilogy and classic wow will be immortal. Diablo 2 still has an active population largely because the ladder keeps it alive

How would mounts make them more money than subs? That would imply on average everyone would spend more than 13 bucks (sub cost) per month on mounts in the shop. Also this would imply that blizzard has to put out at least a new shop mount every 2 months (assuming it costs 25 bucks) and every single person has to buy it to just break even with sub costs. I dont think the shop makes more money than subs even if you count everything from mounts, pets, and god knows what stuff u can buy. Or am I just fucking high and cant do math? 😂
There ist literally No Investment on Blizzards Side to create a mount, No Server Costs etc. And yeah many oiler and mount collectors buy every single mount, Sometimes for several Accounts. In top Toys and pets, Shop makes way more Money than subs

i agree with most of everything in the video, but you did hide the fact that even though there is no wow token on classic the only means of raiding is with gold buyers or buying gold yourself.
That's not true, there are a ton of guilds in firemaw that are progressing currently through bwl with SR or loot council. Also in Zandalar Tribe we started a "fresh" movement and we're soon gonna start aq40, we started 5 months ago almost

They are indeed retailing Classic and attempting to destroy it. Old school, live content patching to expand the existing world is lost on Blizzard. They will not leave their combined audience, content release cycle that expects Classic and retail wow players to cycle between every Blizzard product release schedule. True Classic+ is the old world expanded, with frequent content patching making the game live again. New skills, custom skills, talent changes, class role changes, etc. are not content, they are changes. Content is more zones, balancing without major class restructuring, expanding existing systems, keeping the challenge level the same or even harder, and an overall attempt to keep the feel of the game the same but with more to do. SoD is the complete deconstruction of Classic, and Blizzard only knows shortcuts. We won't see Wow's original vision resurface.

One fresh server where everyone progresses together all the way to WRATH. It’s a progression and it would make starting over again more meaningful.
That is the core fault of misunderstanding what Classic+ is. OG Wow players don't want TBC or Wrath. Wrath players only want Wrath. Progressing to expansions repeats the errors of the past. Classic came from vanilla wow on pservers. They only want vanilla+ and to never move onto expansions. They want the game finished in it's older school style, and not abandoning the world to expansion lands. This fundamental disagreement ensures the problem of Classic+ is never resolved. Cycling Fresh is an admittance of failure, and Blizzard only fails these days. They can't grasp what an mmorpg is. They can only adhere to their combined audience model, and mmorpgs are niche gaming. Corporations will never serve a niche audience. There is more than one Wow community now, and even this streamer can't grasp that. #NoChanges is a failure, and even pservers are developing true vanilla+ now in an attempt to lengthen, or completely remove the FRESH cycle.

To me the trilogy of vanilla/TBC/WRATH should stay in the same server and be just that a continuation and reset after its over so people are on same content. Everyone having different servers to repeat same content and everyone is in different eras and phases will defeat the purpose and get stale
TBC is my favorite expansion and I would love to relive that experience.
That's not Classic+. That's repeating the mistakes of the past. Expansions killed vanilla Wow. You can't expand on the original game by ending it, and throwing everyone into another land that is basically a new game on a totally different gear scale. There is no easy answer, because it requires each expansion being isolated from each other, and Blizzard will not do this so Classic+ will only ever destroy itself on each expansion and history repeats itself, but with different trinkets fooling players into thinking it's new content.

wow 2.0 is needed with modern features like the veery anticipated game called ashes of creation. Wow retail and classic is a mmo that last only 2-4 months in many cases. Then it is just rinse and reapeat with new gear and a dungeon. Wow 2 is needed with a dynamic player driven world with player build cities that live and die and sooo much more. MODERN GAME!!

Classic era is the worst version of wow, hence the lowest player base.
Any version of wow could be good, if it simply made itself permanent, stopped the endless power creep and instead took on a horizontal progression model.
i never buy anything buying just trhow me off for the most part buying a little mount dont not excite me i play for the grind not trying to be the best at wow neither pvp arena is no longer mainstream ;)

That’s the problem with the business a mount shouldn’t bring more money than a game that already has an expensive sub. At least make wow classic f2p and then introduce mounts you can buy then so people can enjoy the game and blizzard can make their money without making classic p2w

I really got into wow with the pandaria xpac, huge beautiful zone with hidden lands, achieves reps, mounts, many things to hunt and build and many side games in the game to play, wod was fun and legion was the best game i ever played. The first wow xpacs were boring and empty and i went back and played them because DF blows and so does old wow
Classic brings no money? Paying a $20 monthly subscription fee for a 20 year old game that is completely automated isn't enough? How about this: if they won't release Classic+, a game that will actually require effort from them, then release these automated servers and don't charge people a subscription to play on them. Get your income from retail mounts and other cosmetics.

Just give it some more content and make pvp balanced in the later Tiers im a pvp player and have to admit season 2 and 3 of cata will just make the whole expansion worse each tier only gives one raid. I like about classic 60 the fact you still need to run BWL for these damn dream trinkets even tho you naxx cleared 20 times, keeps the lower raid tiers still a reason to go into same with MC for thunderfury

It won't work. Tbc and wrath refined classes on their own. Merging that with sod runes would only multiply game balance problems.

@@cococock2418 It isn't about being easy, and you clearly were a late addition. The game launched harder than Classic is now. The xp scaling was far longer to reach 60. Old talents made classes weaker. Modern Classic is the last stage before TBC and it was already made easy mode. This could change, it could be a bit harder, but that's not the point. The style of the game, the social interactions required before Wow turned into a solo queueing game, and the RPG focused content development is what players want returned. This means the OG game with new content, and not a major reworking into the travesty that is SoD. Most vanilla players only want vanilla, but developed in it's original design principles which still allows for many tweaks and balances, but doesn't launch the power scaling into the stratosphere. It is leveling content focused, community focused, role play feel focused, all things retail wow is the exact opposite to. Retail is easy mode extreme, rush to level cap making leveling content meaningless, and sit at end game queueing into mini-games for gear collecting, and it baffles me why players want that returned, when vanilla was recreated to avoid ALL OF THIS REPEATING. This tells me you, and many like you here are in fact retail players clueless to why vanilla even exists. The moment you play it, you want to corrupt it IMMEDIATELY.
People don’t want a “fresh” people only know that a “fresh” is the best option they got. It’s a non game developer option.
As a game developer myself. There are awesome ways to expand the classic game like osrs.
Me personally I don’t want this “seasonal” rolling fresh from vanilla to tbc to wrath.
I want a permanent server to play on.
We do want a fresh. That's what I wanted for classic when TBC came out. Not a server where my classic toon stayed at 60 but a reset. The pserver community loves resets.
@@kirarozu No you don't, you just say you do. The second fresh releases, you will hit max level as soon as possible, grind pre bis as soon as possible, then quit the game in p1.
Players who can't comprehend what Classic+ is want fresh. They can't disconnect themselves from the recreating the game idea through expansions, the very thing that destroyed Wow and created the demand for vanilla servers. Vanilla players want vanilla+, and Blizzard has already corrupted this concept by calling every expansion Classic+ too. True Classic+ is the old world expanded using it's original design principles. This means no expansion ever happens, just a constant flow of new content, no great leap in power scaling that destroys any purpose of previous versions, and no resettling the entire player base into cities far away. Vanilla players want forever vanilla, TBC players want forever TBC, and Wrath players want forever Wrath, but Blizzard won't cater to this, only pservers will, and the core concept behind Classic+ is the ORIGINAL game being developed on it's original power scaling and game play, something TBC and Wrath players can't comprehend so they call for the exact same mistakes repeated that killed the original game.
