I have a noob question. Is it ever a good thing to cancel soul drain before it finishes casting to do something more useful? nice video, great commentary
if you are using a nightfall proc (where your drain soul is faster and does more damage) you want to finish the whole cast, so make sure before you start the cast you won't need to move. if you are just casting a regular drain soul because you are between other abilities, it is perfectly fine to cancel and start the next ability.
thanks man, this video is very informative! I would like to know if you have any advice on usage of spymaster's web, cuz I am macro it with the darkglare but I am not sure if 2mins cd is the best way to utilize this trinket. thanks!
Glad to hear it! You are luckier than I am, haha. I don't have spymaster's web on any of my toons yet, so I haven't been able to play with it. I did some research on warcraft logs of other warlocks who have it, but it is really hard to say when the best time to use it is. I think it depends on what type of damage your raid needs. A lot of the top warlocks I looked at used spymaster's web exclusively during add phases with their other cooldowns. If your group doesn't have a lot of cleave, then using it at 4 minutes (with the big shield add during phase 2) and around 6:30 or 7:30 ish on one of the phase 3 add sets will give you the highest dps. If your raid needs boss damage, though, then it gets a bit awkward. Our two minutes come off of cooldown at awkward times with this trinket, usually during the intermission or on adds that get destroyed immediately anyway. If you want to do boss damage, maybe using spymaster's right at 2 minutes with your other CDs, and then again at around 6 minutes in phase 3, and maybe one more time towards the end of the fight if you have time to do so. Sorry I can't give you an exact answer, but once I get the trinket I will try to update with some better info :) hope this helps
Thank you! I really only have one macro for those, and it is a macro for vile taint. It is an @cursor macro, so it casts the spell immediately where my cursor is. Very convenient, but you will not see the green circle indicating where the spell will land, so it takes some getting used to. Give it a try if you want :) I just press my regular keybinds for agony #showtooltip /cast [@cursor] Vile Taint

Yeah. It was a guild run so we just wanted to get as many ppl online the kill as possible, didn't really care for the group layout. Having extra healers let me pad more on the adds, though ;)
