Grey Coverage and lifting the base is very simple and easy. Often times we over complicate things and reach for a grey coverage color but what we need to to lift the base and and camouflage the grey by smoking it out. Using the #GuyTang Shadow Ash series is a must have for dark hair bases looking to lighten or shift their base while camouflaging grey hair away. Here all I use is @guytang_mydentity ShadowAsh 6 with 20vol. Simple, Easy and fast service. Happy client and Happy stylist.
Hi guy, I love your work !! Every time I try to color my own roots, I get hot roots ! And I hate it !! I can never can never seem to match my roots with my ends. I have 50% grey. I used 7NN. My hair has some golden/caramel highlights also. wondering if I should try the ash.
I dye my grey roots by myself every 3 weeks. I haven’t had anyone else touch my hair in 13 years. But if i knew of a stylist with this amount of knowledge and true understanding of hair, I would absolutely let him do my hair
@mermaidlu5125 Maybe instead of box you can learn to mix your own color and get it from Sally's? A lot of semi/demi permanent options are a step or two up in price, some are comparable to box prices but provide better results!
Good luck. As soon as my dad sold his hair salon and he passed away I have not found anybody to do my hair. People are not reliable. They don’t know what they’re doing, and I look like a mess.😢
You are exactly who I need to fix my hair, but I live in a different country from you😢. There's no stylist here who would give me that kind of solution. Love You Guy! ❤ You are trully creative in all you do.
Great advice and result one other positive I’ve found is customers appreciate not constantly being sold highlights every visit and realise their hair is our priority Love the videos and your work too 😁👍
@@Guy_Tangare your products tested for nickel and cobalt? I have severe nickel allergy and have been told that brown colors often have the most nickel and can cause severe allergic reactions
I think you are the best colorist in the world. No one can do the magic and perfection you do with hair color. I need this, because my hair is turning gray. But how to find someone who can do what you do?
Oh my goodness, this is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! My hair stylist passed away unexpectedly a few years ago and I haven't been able to connect with a new stylist on a long-term basis ever since. All of my previous highlights have now grown out and were trimmed off over the years. I also have a bit more white hair now- it's not much, just a few strands here and there. But I've been thinking about trying to find a new stylist again, and I'm a bit nervous. Watching your videos and shorts has been a huge comfort to me! I'm going to take my time deciding what I want and when, but this video in particular was very helpful. Thanks again Guy! Fawn 😊
This is the answer that I’ve been searching for. My hair is a lot lighter than hers but this is definitely doable. Thank you so much. Could you show how medium dark blonde/ light brown would look sometime? I’d love to see it. You’re so talented and artistic with your work.
Woah. This is smart. I never liked the 10min grey coverage dyes from like redken and joico because it doesn’t give a solid coverage but you explained this in a way I could try to use that to my benefit
This is total liberation for us ladies...I have been thinking about this idea and would like to know if someone out there can do this for my hair........to blend the highlight with the salt and pepper to where I do not have to dye my roots anymore forever. I don't like to dye the roots of my hair any longer. This gentleman knows what I need.
Beautiful color that is what I like to do since I started getting white hairs I am highlighted, but I usually just color my base. It’s not great for your hair to constantly be getting highlights so as long as it blends together, it looks pretty good.
I’m so excited you are writing a book!! May I suggest that, if possible, you should narrate it yourself. A huge part of why you resonate so strongly with so many is your voice. The love and compassion you feel is communicated in your voiceovers. Thank you for your bravery in sharing your life and journey. As always, I feel that you are The Mother Teresa of Housecleaners. ❤❤❤ I can’t wait until your next video. ❤❤❤
I dye my grey roots by myself every 3 weeks. I haven’t had anyone else touch my hair in 13 years. But if i knew of a stylist with this amount of knowledge and true understanding of hair, I would absolutely let him do my hair. But my trick is i use root touch up dye. Then put conditioner into the rest of my hair so the root dye won’t spread into the rest of my hair
Those gray hairs could just be new hair and that's why they appear shorter. Also because gray hairs are so wiry they will stick out away from the rest of the hair so you'll notice how much shorter they are. It's very unlikely she was plucking them out, especially in the back of her head.
That’s just new hair growing - if they were brown you wouldn’t notice but as they are get it’s more obvious. Also it would be near impossible to pluck individual hair on that part of your head!
Oh! Haha that's what I always do to my hair! Greys have started to show and my hair is as dark as her, but I dye my hair ash blonde and get highlights and.. that's it! I dye my roots every month or so and my greys connect with the high lights 🤭🤭❤️
I am 18 years old and I have white hair even though I am still young, as the white hair started to appear a little when I was 15 years old! But now it is much more than that, and to be honest, at first it was annoying to me and I was trying to find a solution to it apart from dyeing so that white hair would not multiply! I tried many solutions like tea! And natural herbs for hair, but that did not help me. In the end, I became convinced that it was a natural thing and that I had to deal with it, and I found the ideal solution: I started dyeing my hair periodically with hair dye shampoo because it was comfortable for me and did not harm the hair much.
I’m about to turn 50. I kind of like my grays. When I have it parted a certain way, it looks like a streak. I dig it. What I don’t like is the fact that my grays are coarser than the rest of my hair. Makes my hair look frizzy.
I agree! I’ve asked around about that but haven’t gotten a straight answer. There should be some type of “dye” that doesn’t color the gray but helps makes it manageable. My silver strands behave great when they are colored! I wonder if this shadow color he is recommending would do that.
This looks really great. I do my own hair. I am starting to have gray like hers but only in the front, not the back or sides. What product should I buy? My hair is much much darker than hers. From my ears down it gets redder not blonde.

What is the ratio for both the mixture please? Is it equal parts?
I need you to do my hair please
You are awesome ❤
Location please.
Thank you for this much needed advice. I always find myself over complicating my color formula. Can't wait to try this!

And if I had the money for it too 😂.. I can only afford box dye for now
Me too :(

I need a hairstylist like this guy❤ someone who CARES and LOVES his job
And who's honest
Good luck.
As soon as my dad sold his hair salon and he passed away I have not found anybody to do my hair.
People are not reliable. They don’t know what they’re doing, and I look like a mess.😢
We need to clone Guy in every country and major city in this world!!! He's so good!
I totally agree! ❤❤
He’s the best
Every City
Kedves tőled Rosanilebron, hogy mindannyiunkra gondolsz.😊
Have to agree
This man is a genius. A true artist.
Ugh what can't every hairdresser be as good as you!?
This is exactly what my hairstylist did when my highlights were growing out, and I have never received more hair compliments like that before!
Guy Tang is a MASTER colorist in my book. He always amazes me with his skills!

Well said! Yes yes this!!!!
What would you suggest doing if gray started to take over? What would be more suitable when this happens?

Try to use the shadow Ash series ❤you will love it
@@Guy_Tang I will!! Thank you ❤️🥰
I would have thought the same about the highlight touch ups, good to know! You rock Guy! 😃
This is what I wanted when I got my hair done !! My stylist just covered them with black 😢
Mine too. Even though I explained what I wanted (as the man in this video demonstrated)
Why do some hairdressers do that?
Omg your job is amazing and this color looks stunning 🌟
I love your talent & skills! I need you as my stylist, color specialist, and genius! ❤❤ Looks gorgeous!
Omg this is STUNNING!!! 😍 wish I could get my hair done like this!
Beautiful. Impeccable. You’re just an artist. You can tell your heart is in your work. ❤❤❤ I would enroll in your school/classes

Luv this Guy!!!❤ Thanks for this tip!!
Beautiful result ❤
Her hair is gorgeous.
You are honest and skilled.
Everyone else just does the opposite.
This makes a lot of sense , very practical 👍

Looks incredible. I’d come to your salon in a heartbeat
I just found this out when I bought a color conditioner 😊 it eventually fades but covers my sparse greys without changing my natural color.
What product are you using?
Beautiful hair color
Amazing work, Guy!
Chef's 💋.
Guy Tang is the best!
Fantastic work 👏
Looks beautiful!!

That's exactly what my grays look like, and I camouflage them too. I like that it gives me a multidimensional look.
Great job Guy!
This man is absolutely awesome!!! ❤
You are so
Talented!! I love watching you work
I love white hair so much!
I'm praying for my hair to
turn all white soon!
That's free highlights!
I love your video and styling ❤ very much and I am subscribed.
I need that ! Yes, they are coming out and it’s exactly like them.
🤯 that’s so brilliant!
FREAKING BEAUTIFUL
i would absolutely love to see the entire process thats being done here
I call this treatment bringing out our own natural highlights, some of my clients as they get more gray eventually no highlighting needed , 💖
You really are a Rock Star!!❤
Wow, that's amazing!
Looks beautiful 😍
Soooo beautiful!!!
I wish you were in my area. This is amazing. I need to color my grays 😢
Beautiful work
Wow, seems like she’s been plucking those grays out, but even then, she’s so lucky to have that much thick hair!!
Those gray hairs could just be new hair and that's why they appear shorter. Also because gray hairs are so wiry they will stick out away from the rest of the hair so you'll notice how much shorter they are. It's very unlikely she was plucking them out, especially in the back of her head.
Nah, my grey hairs just start growing in randomly. Some are shorter. Others longer.
It's the roots growing out after previous root color gray touch-up!

Beautiful hair 🫶 Looks great 👍
Beautiful
You’re a hair god
Beautiful!!!
I used to drink wheatgrass to keep the gray away. I should go back to it bc I am rather tired of coloring my hair.
Gorgeous!! 💜🩷🌈
