You should watch Josh Groban's version of this hymn as in my opinion it is the best version ever and I am an atheist.
Also an atheist here. However, don't agree. Josh Groban has a very good voice, better than 95% of male singers in any music genre today (maybe more), but where he sings well, Celine Dion sings, performs, and gives passion to O' Holy Night; she, to some extent "becomes part" of the song/music - that's what sets her apart from most (if not all??) contemporary female singers). From a male singer perspective, O Holy Night by Pavarotti or Jussi Boerling sets the standard, hands down.
@@spectare9975 We are both entitled to our opinion but as a female I find male voices much nicer. The only female voices I really like are Karen Carpenter, Whitney Houston and Shirley Bassey as I find Celine Dion, Mariah Carey etc voices a little shrill.
@@spacefanatic i have to reply with a thank you on this. I don't fully agree, but I do agree on Karen Carpenter and Shirley Bassey, and in addition I add Linda Ronstadt and Barbra Streisand (talent and the feeling of passion from them). I don't find Celine shrill at all, at least live; I do find that few voices on 'reactions' seem to be fully articulated, an artifact of the system quite likely. As far as male voices, which I enjoy just as much, I do not find there to be many good contemporary ones (please advise me your choices) and I have to admit bias for strong male voices such as those I mentioned. Josh Groban, a very fine voice, but whenever I hear him, at the end of his song though I recognize his superb technique and skill, I don't feel moved, I don't feel like he gave me more than great sound like I do by others (mentioned, and others), male or female. AGAIN, thank you for opinion - it is always great to discuss, compare, and disagree in a calm and meaningful way. THUMBS UP! (I am a male)
