I have been an aerialist for 6 years now and this is the first “trying aerial silks for the first time video” that I 100% agree with. A lot of the times teachers teach higher level skills that I probably wouldn’t recommend for a first class beginner but this woman did so many good exercises to warmup and taught her things that were for her level. I also wanted to mention that you did a great job and it looked great!!

i started doing anti gravity yoga (similar to aerial silks but with a hammock instead of two dangly strands) about six months ago and its SO FUN!! i've noticed when I cant go for a few weeks my anxiety/depression definitely feels more overwhelming, and i've never been someone who enjoys working out. like i HATE running and i HATE the gym. the arial yoga is so so great for me. i've also never ever been flexible and a gymnast or anything, but was able to touch my toes from standing for the first time in my life after three months. my instructor is now showing me some stuff that she thinks ill be able to do the splits/handstands in another three months, which is insane because ive literally never been able to even do a freaking cartwheel.
how the heck is the first time i’m seeing this??? i’ve done aerial silks for 2 years now and i love it with my whole entire heart i’m so glad u tried it :)
I love this series already, trying new crazy things is always a good idea! I would really like to try this too, but I have no ideo where I could do this... Anyway it would be cool if you could also try Bodyflying, I did that some weeks ago and it was an incredible experience! Love from Germany

You have a lot of strength to be able to do so well. I do hammock and tried silks, man struggles. Beware people, your forearms may burn for a while after and be careful with your shoulders.
I do aerial and believe me being a gymnast/cheerleader/dancer help a whole lot! I wasn't any of those things and I didn't struggle but it sure makes it a lot easier flexibility wise...
as someone who does silks almost every day, i’ve learned that socks aren’t the best thing to where on silks, also make sure not to wear shorts while on the silks, because you can get silks burn and it hurts a lot , also make sure your hair is tied because it will get caught in the silk
