India recently signed an agreement with Iran which allows India to handle the Chabahar port in Iran for 10 years. The news about the Chabahar port was in the media for some time. The news was followed by warnings from the USA regarding sanctions against countries which do business with Iran. India is supposed to proceed with the Chabahar port operation irrespective of the US sanction warnings. What makes the Chabahar port so important to India?
This video explains the multiple benefits for India withe the usage of the Chabahar port. The port is located at the busy maritime trade route, and Chabahar port will be the gateway to the central Asian countries for India Chabahar port will be a key position in the proposed International North-South Transport corridor (INSTC).
But the major benefit for India from Chabahar port will be strategic. Because the Chabahar port is just 72 km away from the Gwadar port in Pakistan. The Gwadar port is operated by China as part of their Belt and road initiative. It is also part of China's string of Pearls policy as well which is a security threat to India. This video explains how India counters china's security threats by operating the Chabahar port.

I think sanction From America make India most powerful like Russia survived all economic crisis. One of the greatest challenge of this port is to connect via Afghanistan which is under taliban and to get resources from central Asia. INSTC HAS advantages only if we become a manufacturing country. And if we want to connect india via this port we need to lay enormous railway line too. We have already proposed IMEC in G20 we have TAPI pipeline almost in it's failure and india Pakistan and Iran pipeline. So we cannot change our neighbours at the end Russia wants China and China is our largest trading partner and we also need both. Proposal is good but whether we get benefit or not is dependends on us only. Not victory not a loss
