    These are truly life changing, the noise reduction is amazing and clarity of voice and music top notch. I attended a disco themed wedding and can attest the noise reduction works great, I was able to hear conversation at my table. I have a Pixel 8 and have not had any connection issues, I stream you tube directly, I use TH-cam music in my Bronco sport and can choose to listen to my ear piece or through the cars speakers, same with Google maps navigation. Phone calls work exactly as they should with Android. Overall these have been a blessing and have worked as advertised.

      Interested to hear your experience, currently trialling these and extremely disappointed - auto mode does little to manage background sound, audio quality is awful when streaming, so tinny and disembodied, far inferior to Phonak and Oticon aids I have used and trialled and finally, connectivity is proving to be quite unstable both to phone and TV streamer - so is my experience isolated or the norm?

    Fanatastic review. Great detail and very useful comments and explanations. As a Phonak Lumity 90 user I am pleased with the performance and selected them because I use a lot of technology and wanted the seamless / multi device bluetooth connectivity which they mainly deliver - minus a few issues - which may often be device / bluetooth / app specific. It will be interesting to see what Phonak release for their next gen devices given the recent releases from their competitors.

    Hello Nick, I am a CI (Cochlear Implant) user in my right ear, and I will be getting either the ReSound Nexia 9, or 7. in my left ear. ReSound is the only brand comparable with the Cochlear Limited brand. So I can hear stream and control simultaneously out of both ears. I should be getting my new aids next week and I am so excited. I ran into your video and wanted a honest review of the ReSound brand. I never tried them before and yes you are quite right they are super expensive. Thank you for sharing your experience.

    I have a set on a trial basis from my hearing aid guy. Purpose was to try out the Auracast™ function. It worked OK with the TV Plus transmitter, but did not receive Auracast™ from an Auracast™ transmitter that I possess.. ReSound HQ then told my guy that the generalized Auracast™ capability would be added, presumably with a firmware update, later this year. As for music streaming, they are MUCH less desirable than ANY of my Phonaks: Marvel through Lumity. Even after adjusting (similar to Nick's experience), the music reproduction was still shrill. Furthermore, they do not pair with eight devices the way that Lumity does. On the plus side, though, I have not heard anything from Phonal about offering Auracast™ capability, and that's important to my retirement community. All-in-all, I would not (yet) exchange them for my Lumitys.

    Nick, love your reviews, and I've seen em all. When you were walking the streets of NYC, I thought you were going to go Letterman on us, and start talking to strangers as you walked by them... haha. Perfect timing for me as I'm a first time hearing aid person and I am currently in a trial period with the Nexia 9. How does the "hearing in noise" function perform compared to your reviews of Phonak and Oticon? I just don't have that experience with the others. I still have some trouble hearing folks in loud restaurants but getting better with some recent tweaks by my audiologist. Also I have not experienced the issue you had with Music speeding up etc.. I have the aids connected to my iPhone and apple CarPlay, and it all works perfectly in the car with phone calls, etc.. However I don't have an Apple Watch in the mix. Also, I'm not streaming in the car, but rather just listen to music on the car speakers.

    This is a great review, thank you! I have the same kind of hearing loss as you and I have the Resound One for 3 years now but they don't help much. My audiologist adjusted it several times but I still can't hear what I want to hear. She says that I am eligible for a new pair so I guess I may give Resound another chance after seeing your review. oh BTW, it is perfectly fine to jay walk in NYC. Every New Yorker does it all the time and if you don't, everyone knows you are a tourist.

    Great video, thanks! Looking at upgrading my 2 year old Unitrons. Looks like I've found my next ones. One point, rechargeable batteries have a habit of lasting less time per charge over time. however, with the already surplus run-time these have, seems that won't be a problem.

    • @Ziphearing
      @Ziphearing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I, unfortunately, do not have any foresight into the availability of auracast. We are both in the same boat when it comes to waiting to see how pervasive it will be. I actively try to avoid mentioning a specific cost in the videos because I don't want to say a price in the present time and then have it be different in the future and cause confusion. However, pricing and tech levels can always be found on the website at www.ziphearing.com/resound-nexia?

    I recently had to help my neighbour
    with the resound unit she an old lady and has come difficult understanding that they have to be charged regularly like the mobile phone ... I am glad that the unit his USB C it helps not only because the phone is also the same but also because USB C his non directional ... saying that excellent quality product disappointed that it comes with a basic case in my opinion it should come with the charging case. because here in Portugal the unit costs about seven thousand euros. I don’t know how match it cost in the US but here in Portugal seven thousand euros it’s a lot of money

    • @Ziphearing
      @Ziphearing  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First of all, thank you for helping your neighbor! I totally agree that premium chargers should be included in the purchase, but that would cause the base-level product to be more expensive. Not everyone wants or needs the premium charger, so the additional cost may just seem like an unnecessary cost. Thanks you, Nick. This is my 2nd of your reviews, the first was the Starkey Genesis AI 24. Question: Did you play your guitar while wearing these? You mentioned your guitar in the Genesis review. I’m a guitarist and totally depend on the music program on my old ReSound LiNX aids. The first time I played using std. program, I thought my guitar had a loose brace or something. It sounded terrible. Then I realized I wasn’t in music mode and switched modes. I need new aids but, since I play out professionally, the way acoustic instruments sound while I’m playing is extremely important. So, how did these sound while playing your guitar?

    • @Ziphearing
      @Ziphearing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First of all, thank you watching the videos! Second, I certainly played guitar while wearing the hearing aids, it has become an integral part of testing them out! I can say that, in my experience, the Nexia's performed flawlessly. With other hearing aids I had encountered some issues where it seemed like the sound from the guitar was going in and out of phase, but not with the Nexia, and especially not in the music mode. The sound was quite natural!

    thanks for your excellent review 👌 I’m currently testing Nexia 9s after long time useing Linx3D 9. I’ve encountered a reluctance with audio practitioners to install MREI receivers - currently testing with just REI as the practitioner did not have any MREI in stock. They 2 I visited both sited problems with wax build up around the microphone& feedback threshold reduction as reason not to use. Im frustrated as I’d really like to hear the difference between MREI & REI - I’m going to push to get MREI to test - any thoughts on this?

If you want to try a certain device, you should! Also, routine cleaning and maintenance may prevent the wax build-up from being an issue. lots of comments on this review and others that say the Bluetooth sound quality is poor to average at best. Streaming is becoming so popular that I would hope for better. I'm going to give these a try (trail) but looks like I may try the Phonak Audeo Infino. I wonder why people get a HA that has Aurcast when it will not be around for years, and the average HA only last a few years. That being the case it may be smarter to just wait it out till Aurcast hits mainstream.

    • @Ziphearing
      @Ziphearing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! Some people may not be in a situation where they have the option to wait for a newer model, maybe their devices reached the end of their life cycle or perhaps these are someone’s first HA’s! Knowing that there is some tech inside that could prove to be useful down the line may be enticing for some folks! Regarding streaming quality, I also wish that it was better! However, the smaller size of the hearing aid does not allow for large drivers like those in headphones. This limitation leads to a less rich and full audio signal. This video is excellent and timely for me in that the Nexia 9 is on my short list of new HA’s. (Starkly Genisis AI Ric and Resound Nexia 9) Three questions. Was a Real Ear measurement test performed when ytu received them? For the TV Streamer +, what connection did you use between the tv and the streamer? And would a different method like the Optical Sound connection have improved the sound quality? Thank you.

      I have recently been fitted with Starkey Genesis AI and I'm on the verge of returning them and getting the Jabra Enhance pro 20 (which are the same as the Nexia 9). very disappointed with the bluetooth and there are a lot of quirks with the starkeys (won;t shut off after a phone call, changing programs randomly). So Nick, youre an Orticon Intent owner from what i can see in a previous video and raved about it with its 4d etc so how does it compare to the Resound Nexia 9 and also in regards to quality of audio sound for richness in speech and for music .. thanks. Hi there! I do not own the oticon intent, I actually own the Phonak Lumity 90! To answer your question about the comparison to the nexia 9, both are exceptional hearing aids that provide crystal clear audio signal. However, the 4D tech in the Oticon Intent was able to provide me with more directionality and perception when it came to identifying sound sources. Also, one last thing...I am now answering questions! Go check out one of our recent videos about my story and a BIG announcement! th-cam.com/video/s7likC-Ds4A/w-d-xo.html?

      Thats a tough one.... Personally, I prefer the bluetooth connectivity on the Lumity. However, I think the tech in the Intent is a touch better than the Lumity for audio quality and perception of a sound's location. If money wasn't a factor, and I could just do a straight swap...I may go with the the Intent.

    Hello what are you doing about wind with your new hearing aids as I am on trial time with mine?.

    • @Ziphearing
      @Ziphearing  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is a great question! Many hearing aids will come with some sort of "wind reduction" technology that will allow the hearing aid to reduce the amount of wind noise that the user experiences. While the tech is fantastic, it will not eliminate 100% of the wind noise. In extreme situations, there is no avoiding it. However, most of the time I am very pleased with the wind noise management provided by the devices!. My question if you know or can steer me to where I can find out is 30 hours is there bost,if they are charged every night will a memory develop shorting the use time. With new battrie technology I am lost.

    • @Ziphearing
      @Ziphearing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it is a demo set, there is a high chance that they have been used and charged many many many times. After many charging cycles, the internal battery will not be able to fully charge to 100%, and will eventually need to be replaced by the manufacturer and have a new battery installed. There is really no way to avoid this, its just a natural part of rechargeable batteries.

    You seem to minimize the BT streaming issue. I’ve had Resounds for 10 years., currently Omnia. I like to stream music during workouts, walks, etc. I’ve NEVER got them to work well. Holding the iPhone (currently 14 pro) in my hand it works. As soon as I put in my pants pocket (any) it continually cuts out or works in only one ear intermittently. It’s been super annoying and forced me to use separate ear buds. It’s almost become a show stopper. Did you test this with Nexia? Was your experience similar. BTW, excellent video!

    • @Ziphearing
      @Ziphearing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! I don’t really think it’s an issue of laziness. Realistically, these devices have a primary function of assisting in hearing, not streaming audio. Due to that, there are going to be physical limitations when it comes to delivering high quality streaming audio. The drivers in headphones are much larger and more robust than the drivers in a hearing aid. Therefore, the quality of streaming audio is going to suffer.

      @@Ziphearing The lack of adjustment for the user is the issue on the app. I have the Nexia 9 and when I stream from VLC player it has a graphic equaliser and I can get a pretty decent sound. This should be available on the app a proper eq for streaming but there is none. The price of hearing aids are terrible, even a rip off I would say.
