Honestly jev, that intro couldn’t be more true. As a big fan of the soulsborne series, the games get even better when you ignore all the people trying to say playing a certain way or not taking it in the way they do is bad. You can say that these games are held personally close to some people, but they aren’t made for any one individual to play/interpret. Just enjoy the damn game folks.

You should play Lies Of P. Its like Bloodborne + Sekiro + Pinocchio. Its pretty difficult but very fun and rewarding. Overall map layout is pretty linear aswell so you wont get confused on where u need to go.
Just finally started playing it the other day and the second phase of the scrapped watchman is making me fight for my life. enjoying it a lot tho

no ones mad about the weapon he used. but he should of shown his exploration more. the last video completely skipped over the astral clock tower, literally one of the coolest places in the game. and he did no npc quests
I will say, You are dead on with your assessment, The atmosphere is 100% what makes it my favorite Souls game and tbh one of my favorite games of all time. I know that the boss fights are usually what people look forward to the most while playing these games, But while that's def a highlight for me, What I look forward to the most is the exploration, That sense of wonder I get from discovering new things & wandering into a new area, I've realized that Atmosphere is def what pulls me into games the most, Great art design and a memorable OST makes for a much more immersive experience, Hence why games series like the Metroid Prime Trilogy & Dark Souls Trilogy are my absolute favorite kind of games to play.
imo elden ring has the best most complex and most varied art and atmosphere by FAAAAR!
but they all have pretty great atmospheres, personally i found bbs atmosphere incredibly bland and almost copy pasted at times to be brutally honest, but i get that goth loving ppl like the muted 2 tone grey color scheme, but the reason why i love fromsofts games so much is because of how creative and wacky their art and area design is and bb isnt really creative at all, its basically 30 hours of grey castles, grey rooms, grey corridors and hallways, grey coffins and grave stones and lets not forget that super grey forest XD i swear miyazaki! theres more to lovecraft environments than just cobbled grey bricks!
@@flamingmanure The black/Gray color scheme throughout BB IS the atmosphere, And its what made it so immersive for me personally, Everything fits a common theme but with a twist of Eldritch horror. There's a distinct vibe that fits in with the theme and that is what makes it for me, At times it's claustrophobic, So the moments where you do get a little space to breathe or a slight switch up in scenery makes the impact of those moments hit much harder, Add the creepy enemy design along with its ethereal OST and yeah it's atmosphere is on another planet than most other games for me. Elden Ring def has the more varied art but it wasn't that atmospheric to me personally cause it was sort of all over the place, Like there were certain areas in ER that created a great atmosphere, Such as Volcano Manor or the Shunning Grounds, But the often empty open world didn't really suck me in the way BBs tight nitted level design did. Tbf kinda like you put it, People's tastes and opinions on stuff like that differs, But for me as much as I love the vibrant and diverse locations in Elden Ring, I feel the open world kind of takes me out of it just a bit, That's where I feel DS2 actually did it better, Like it had the most variety in its levels, And wandering from one area to the next had me feeling much more involved in its world, Like every little space had a purpose, And I actually felt compelled to fight my way thru instead of just speeding past on my horse, Like the highlight moments of ER for me were the seamless transitions from on area to the next, Going down the Mistwood well, Going up Mt. Gelmir into Volcano Manor, Going from the Haligtree into the city, DS2 is like that but thru the whole game, Constantly making way into a new, Different area back to back, Along with some unique, Zelda inspired Puzzle solving that they kinda did away with (For the most part) From BB onwards. If DS2 had Elden Ring/DS3's level of combat/Bosses, It would probably be my favorite game ever, It def is the Souls game with the heaviest RPG feel to it. As it stands each game has something it's excels at, BB is my overall favorite for it's atmosphere, Sekiro has my favorite gameplay, DS1 has the best level design, DS2 has the best level of customization, DS3 has the best bosses, And Elden Ring IMO has the absolute best Story/Lore.
To address the intro. Yes bro. Sometimes.. well.. a lot of the times, the souls community LOVE to backseat and have extremely strong opinions. Can be very annoying but you just have to see it as how much passion these games give people. Glad you enjoyed the hunt

it wasnt about backseating at all.. he backseated himself by reading the wiki while playing. people complained he just runs through everything and its obvious he is not really playing. he didnt kill one mob in the fishing village. didnt kill 1 mob in marias clinic and thats just the last video.. No he didnt cut the part out you can see the souls and everything is the same.

Anyone flaming someone for trying to play the game a certain way just sucks. Experimenting is fun. The magic of Bloodborne is the world it transports you to. It's a game that never leaves your memory because there is truly nothing else like it. So happy you enjoyed it!

Jev if you wish to make one more video on bloodborne do the chalice dungeons there are a couple of unique enemies and bosses in those and also a "rare" final boss for running through the first chalice dungeon.. it also has that grind aspect that you enjoy so much🤷♂ anyways thanks for the series a pleasure as always...

what made sekiro hard to most souls veterans is the old souls veteran instincts of bitch dodging backwards (something that pisses off vets in elden ring the most and i love it), sekiro a hard game sure, but not any harder than any other fromsoft game, but frankly sekiro fanboys laughably exaggerate that whole "its the hardest cuz u cant cheese hurr durr" silly self gratifying narrative XD most ppl stumble their way through elden souls and barely survive their first playthrough cuz theres far more layers to think about than just reaction timing, unlike seki and bb. my first were elden ring then the DS series, after that bb and sekiro were a joke, finished both in 25 hours each and took me 6 hours to finish old hunters.

Everyone has a different way to play souls games. Some people min max, some just use the torch as their main weapon. In DS3 I used the Zweihander&Caestus for my entire playthrough because swinging a sword that's taller than you are was fun. You just gotta find your own groove❤

moon presence just bugged out at the end lol. loved the play through jev, glad you had fun. my favorite things about the game are the lore/world more than the actual gameplay. tho it is fun) I did however enjoy exploring the world more than the boss's themselves, i highly recommend doing the side quests on your second play through! it does seem like theres only 1 path (at least compared to elden ring) but theres a lot of fun mobs that you're rewarded from exploration.

She is not the trouble, the trouble is getting there. You have to beat both Defiled Watchdog and Loran Darkbeast, if I'm not mistaken. They are the hardest bosses in the game.

Going through the dungeons to fight the Pthumerian Queen is overall easy with the exception of Cursed/Defiled Chalice dungeon which cuts your HP in HALF that shit was so goddamn annoying lmao. One little mistake of dodging and the boss hits you, you could potentially get one shotted. Its probably the only area in all of Bloodborne that I raged so hard haha

Jev, its tedious but grind through the chalilce dungeons and beat those bosses plus Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen. Everyone knows its a grind but, I and others would like to see you do it. If not this was still a great playthrough.

I would love for you to watch lore related videos do another playthrough where you try and get all the items you can and read their descriptions (doesn't have to be a video you can totally do this offline) just so you can get immersed in the lore a bit more, you could also try the dungeons if you feel like it as they are fun but mega challenging towards the end. But I love that you have given this game a spot on your channel as it might spur Sony on to do something with it after all these years!

Its a top tier youtuber playing a top tier game. Of course we all will still enjoy it. Its hard for people to get over the fact that its someones first time through and they wanna be the person to show them everything/all the best stuff. But these games take multiple completions for you to really get around to everything so, at your own pace it was played, and at my own will I enjoyed it!

Maria and Gehrman's story is one of my favourite stories in the soulsborne/elden ring series, it's so good and it's tragic.
So who is gonna tell jev that he hasn't beaten every boss and the last boss is in the last chalice dungeon?
Yeah there is like at least 10 unique bosses and 20+ bosses on the dungeons

I’m a huge strength build fan in most of these games but the blades of mercy run I did on bloodborne was so fun. At the end of the day you just gotta play however you like. Seems like you have done that. It’s been a great series Jev!

I would say you still need to beat Bloody Crow of Cainhurst, Fishing Hamlet well (at the very least) and Chalice Dungeons to fully experience Bloodborne IMO. Looking forward to this video.

Honestly, YT Commenters just wanted to you suffer playing the game to justify their own experience. You beat the game with relative ease because you're an above average player, it would not have mattered which weapon you used. Personally, I'm more of a fan of the exploration of these games than just the boss fights, but I think we all enjoyed the playthrough anyway and that Orphan of Kos fight was worth the watch on it's own.

Yeah... don't listen to the gatekeepers. If the game gives you a weapon, then you use it. If you do another playthrough, Arcane is a blast. Level one weapon up with fire damage for beasts, and the other up with bolt damage for kin. That was my last play through, and I had so much fun.
Skill build are also extremely strong in this game. Your visceral attack scales with Skill, so you can create a quick build that melts enemies, and then one shots most enemies with a visceral and takes off huge chunks of HP from bosses. I love the cane for a Skill build, but the Saw Spear may be my favorite weapon in the game.
The Saw Spear has a similar move set to the Saw Cleaver, but it does serrated damage in both forms, whereas the Saw Cleaver only does serrated in the collapsed form. The Saw spear then has a thrust attack, which does extra damage to kin

Awesome series Jev! You inspired me to finally play bloodboorne as well. I’ve always loved the lore and the story but got held up at the cleric beast when I played it myself. Now I just beat my 5th boss, Vicar Amelia, and I’m loving it!

For a 2nd playthrough, I'd recommend the whirligig saw it's just a super fun weapon. It's pretty op, I think, but it's so fun. I'd recommend at least checking it out if you play on your own. Loved the playthrough.

@@stacystealer dawg, let me tell yah. that was a while ago, probably to young to be playing it however, i’ve been able to beat ds1, ds2 sotfs, ds3, bloodborne, sekiro, and elden ring. as you said this series never fails to deliver something special in every installment. bloodborne actually was at the top of my list over borderlands 2 after some thought.

Do ng+ hybrid strength/ arcane build with the moonlight holy blade, it’s one of the most fun weapons in all of souls borne, highly recommend it!
I think this game is so beloved because it was clearly such a passion project for Miyazaki, and unlike Demon's & Dark Souls it had the dev time and budget it deserved.
Loved this series! Elden ring was my first souls game, and the soulcels who complain about everything make no sense. Cheers for playing it how you want!
