The first year we gardened with kids, we grew things that would grow fast to keep them engaged. Radishes, peas, carrots and cucumbers. After only a few weeks they could start to harvest from the garden. My daughter who detests peas (and has since she was a baby) would eat garden peas.

Thank you so much for doing this Lisa, you've been such an inspiration to me. Since I started watching your channel I am doing better with letting things go. I have two small children and it's hard! Ive been encouraged to try new things and to be okay with it not coming out perfect the first few tries. Through your videos I started incorporating fermented foods into our diet and no longer have an intolerance to bananas etc. With your help I have made my own sourdough starter, (it's been going strong for 6 months now) milk kefir, and sauerkraut. Not to mention countless recipes of yours that I've tried that are now a part of our weekly meal rotation. We also completely switched over to Einkorn flour.. the chocolate chip cookies are everyone's favorite! Thanks again, God bless you and your family

I grew up in a very gender specific way of work . My work and jurisdiction has always been the house yard an garden . And for him to take an interest in planting zinnias , I would have thought he lost his mind 🤣 Nothing wrong with either way just a whole different world to me .

The weather she's describing is weird for this time of year. (I live in Missouri too, where the Farmhouse is located.) A bizarre heatwave came up from Texas. We normally see this kind of heat in July and August (not May).

When i was a child growing up in Northern New Jersey, I had those same free feels and loved eating outdoors and playing out from after breakfast til after dinner( catching fireflys) but as an adult living in florida, I just cannot bear summer and it's the opposite of your winter where I feel snowed in.staying indoors more. Grilling pizza is amazing!!! We always pre cook our crusts on a higher heat first really fast, similar to how you pre cook the crusts in ur cast irons! Just take them off and then add toppings - they get really crispy that way! Just a suggestion! I love this video! Thanks for the inspo Lisa :)
You can actually eat the radish tops. Theyre super delicious as kind of a side dish, eat a spoon of whatever youre eating and then just have a leaf or two along with it...super tasty.
The pizza and pork steaks look scrumptious!!!!! And I can watch you make homemade bread all day, it’s kinda of like watching golf on a Sunday afternoon !! Calming and relaxing

I did it just like you recommended 💞 and because I too am not super fan of exact measurements lol I never measured, except kind of for the first 4 days… right now I am a the stage where my SD (Mrs Bubbles) is just sitting on the counter and if left unattended for a day or two it will be fine. And I think I am getting it right if I put her in the fridge for a couple days… that transition was scary though! I got up in the middle of the night to check on her 👀😅 But she made it through the transitions so yay! listening to all your advice has definitely helped me, so THANK YOU so much!! ❤️Greeting and blessings from Silverdale, WA.

I have done the unconventional parenting thing and just let them enjoy video games, as long as their chores get done and they work hard in school. Gardening has just become my thing, and i"m ok with that. My sons are almost grown up now and they are responsible, hard-working teenagers. My husband and I have a very close relationship with both of them, and to me, these are the most important things. =)

We are in PNW….best gardens in the spring and summer because of the winter rain and no crazy heat or bugs. I know because I moved from the South😅
