    This is an interesting lap in the wet, with an interesting car!
    In one of the last videos, Misha said something about people complaining about range and battery state of charge when an EV does a lap. This videos shows the fual consumption of this car quite well. It traveled 20 km from start to finish, and used about 1/8th of a tank (see the fuel gauge). I assume that the car has the stock tank and that the gauge measures linearly. According to the license plate, the fuel tank holds 45 liters, so it used 1/8th of 45 = 5.6 liters. The advertised average fuel consumption is 6.1 l/100 km, for these 20 kms it used 5.6 * (100 / 20) = 28 l/100 km. That is about 5 times the advertised average. That is very comparable to an average EV doing a lap.

    • @DarkVarda
      @DarkVarda ปีที่แล้ว +13

      True, it compares pretty well but the problem is that with an EV you cant just fuel up fast. imo the biggest downside of an EV

    • @camiel221
      @camiel221 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the difference is you can fill it up in 2 minutes and keep having fun

    • @bubbleman2002
      @bubbleman2002 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree that people complaining about poor efficiency from track driving are clueless, but my engine's power doesn't drop from braking too much, unlike the battery of an EV, which can overheat from regen braking very quickly if the batteries are inadequately cooled. As others have pointed out, I also don't have time to watch a film between when I start filling my car up and when I'm done filling it up. I know superchargers can fill it up in 45 minutes, but that degrades battery life. With a gas car I do not need to compromise on how much time I spend fueling up because I don't need to fear my fuel tank shrinking if I put gas in it too quickly. EVs are cool but they are still in their infancy and have many unanswered questions and engineering problems they must overcome, including right to repair.

    Here’s just my little story for all the FIAT haters: My first car was a Panda (the boxy one). A CL with the 750 Fire engine. 34 hp. So what are you doing with a car that your parents gave to you, leaving you with the weakest shitbox amongst all your friends? Living in a very hilly part of Bavaria? You rev it and treat it like a piece of dirt. Permanently. For years. When I gave it away it had done 340000 km, on the first engine with nothing more than normal maintenance, like changing spark plugs. Everything around the engine had turned to rust, it looked like a rat rod, with bare metal plates welded all around the car.
    But the engine reved on. It had taken me anywhere I asked it to and taught me how to go fast in a car that wasn’t meant to.
    I’d give my right arm just to have it back.

    My previous car was an Abarth 595 Competizione, a wonderful toy with 180hp in a great 500 chassis, equipped with Brembos, Sabelts, etc. I remember a lot of folks on forums getting triggered whenever anyone mentioned it being a Fiat. "No, iT's aN aBaRtH" ....Yeah, it's upgraded by Abarth, but it's a Fiat. Literally anywhere you look under the hood you see Fiat badges. Also, why so ashamed of driving a Fiat? @@egemenguneyligil4126 I think it’s an issue with the catalysator because it sits directly behind the engine block and probably gets too hot or is clogged up. I brought my car to the mechanic yesterday because it has very bad throttle input delay and some other issues like the 1 and 5 going in very bad (it’s 5speed version of the gear box) so I will ask him how to fix it. Probably it’s the catalysator or the sensor for it I think personally but I will know tomorrow.

    Sounds like multiair problems to me, eventho it is weird that it only happends under extreme conditions.. the engine's are amazing and very strong (especialy Tjet) but multiair can fail if not maintaned properly. Put in a "facelift" module and it should be fine.. very reliable cars otherwise, there's a reason fiat has been using these engine's since the 80's
