We have to share the belief that sees people as "nobodies" and "somebodys", for the statement to make sense. I don't believe that anyone is a nobody. We are all somebody to ourselves and our friends and family aren't we? Calling people "nobodies" is really saying "You're not rich and famous". 2:46 This documentary makes it seem like Germans were just unhappy they had lost WW1, and that it was just about "pride". This might be worth a sidenote, but it is not the key.
After 4 years of WW1 Germany, England and France were weakened badly. People didn't even have eough food. In that situation the Versailles treaty dictated Germany a peace agreement that forced Germany to hand over almost all of it's production to France and Britain as reparations for years to come. England and France used these reparations to pay of their debt, that they had taken on for the delivery of weapons that they had recieved from the USA in WW1. So the German polulation was actually SUFFERING of severe poverty.

Outstanding program! Only one clarification. The SA "brown shirts" wasn't "the first organization 'costumed' by Hugo Boss." The Brown Shirt 'costuming' came in the '20's, as a result of a large store of Austrian military surplus (1921) brown denim shirts, intended for tropical uniforms in East Africa, being taken over/possessed by the Schill Youth in Germany. The "Schill Sportversand" then became the main supplier for the SA brown shirts. Boss's company did also later produce "brown shirts."

In my opinion only, it's my view that Germany was on the verge of military collapse in WW1 & called for a "Armistice" which is a temporary cessation of hostilities leading to discussion for surrender. The Germans promptly marched home calling it an honorable draw (which was self delusions) & then became indignant when the victors at Versailles imposed harsh economic terms. A good documentary but misleading title. It hardly said anything about Hitler's inner circle.

Those Yanks & Brit commentators surely tried their best in order to pronounce German words correctly. Of course, it isn't easy. And yet, "Well done"!

Not sure how they get “right wing” from National Socialist - but whatever makes one excuse being a socialist themselves, I suppose.

That is an Amazing Photo. Kurt Daluege, left of Himmler
Heydrich on the right on 3rd step. I've never seen this photo, and I've seen them all!

Especially nowadays with these people who seem to not understand fascism or communism or they are convinced it's a good thing. Everything in history tells us fascism and communism are not beneficial to the everyday citizen, it's only beneficial to those in charge.

@Brooke Baldvag most people that know some Jewish people notice that they are really kind and always seem to help people like me because they are generally very kind people and yes I know that I am generalising but that is my experience of my Jewish friends

Ironically the USA, which prides itself on being the beacon of capitalism has much larger and more controlled collectivization of farming than the Soviets ever had. Sure that control is in the hands of corporations instead of government but it's a distinction without difference for most farmers who are regularly threatened 'if you don't buy better equipment we will strip you of any buyers.' No wonder that even in our country the government constantly has to step in to offer protections.

Socialism for the rich is the order of the day in usa im afraid.
I think that once the American people on both sides realize their similarities in the system....the rich will be in trouble....we will see rolling out of gilotines....unfortunately we will see this situation in Europe too.

Subsidies. And @typo pit, yeah, FDR's New Deal failed...but only for the Blacks...thanks to Red Line Districts. Ever heard of Social Security? Or FDIC for banks? How about the National Labor Relations Board? Or Security's and Exchange Commission? Or the Tennessee Valley Authority that affected seven (7) other states? Maybe do a little research or be an ACTUAL historian before you claim to know what you're talking about, @typo pit?
