    As others have noticed, the framerate is too low with the likes of motion blur when you move your hands or a model quickly. Also the auto-focus frequently 'breathes' causing the image to momentarily zoom in then back out again so it might be worth locking focus. I don't know the resolution you recorded but TH-cam is playing back at 720p for a camera is (almost) capable 4k. The audio quality perfectly acceptable. With some tweaks to the video I think it will be usable but right now your iPhone footage is superior IMHO. Thank you for running through your engine shed.

      Yes you’re right. I think it’s good for the price, and the points like macro would make me favour it over other webcams. But for my type of work, quality is key. So the iPhone will be used going forward. I actually record at 4k, but the upload is too long to put it on TH-cam at 4k as our internet is so weak. I think I’d use 4k for special videos, like looking at the finished layout wtc

    George… If it’s any help to you, if you really want to make Talyllyn No.3, Chivers Finelines make a white metal kit of Sir Haydn for 009. It uses an Ibertren Cuckoo chassis. I believe they are both good quality!

    The “macro” is interesting, in that it’s just a loupe. It’s what I use to look at my film up close since it’s small. You basically put the film right up to it.
    Also interesting that the loupe apparently covers up the microphone.

    @gs425 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The frame rate issue could.be because you may need a faster usb port on your laptop..the macro hood gives the ideal distance to focus.
    The iPhone comparison...well for a start it is far more than just a camera. It also will have heaps more post processing g power. And as for the price...iPhone is priced like that because it is. Not because of cost.

    I found the sound noticeably improved when you swapped to the Benq camera. As others have mentioned there was a bit of a delay with focusing with movement. BTW what is the Autoglym product and the blue sprayer on your workbench? I hope you aren't taking Autoglym medicinally for your cold - it could be Windowlene and My Big Fat Greek Wedding all over again.

    • @GWilliamsonModels
      @GWilliamsonModels  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s interesting that the sounds better for you, I found it more distorted, but if I could use my microphone alongside it, it would help.
      I’m in in the room at the moment, but if it’s autoglym, it’ll be ‘glue and tar remover’ or something like that. I use it to remove old sellotape from plastic models.
      The blue spray bottle has water in it now. I’ve got a clear one that matches, which I use to spray IPA

    To be honest, I’d say that camera is quite a big downgrade from an iPhone, it’s really designed for zoom meetings etc as a document camera so won’t be very good quality, it also has quite a low frame rate by the look of it, hence the jerkiness. The audio from it sounds quite heavily compressed too. I would stick with the iPhone myself, they have very good cameras and mics.
    Sorry for being negative but I just don’t think it will do you any favours
