LBCT - a paradigm shift in the industry

On this video the President of Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT), Anthony Otto shares his vision and talks about his experiences on container terminal automation. LBCT is the first fully automated container terminal in the United States. ABB has delivered the crane control systems and crane automation for ship to shore cranes (STS), automatic stacking cranes (ASC) and intermodal yard cranes (IYC).

Im a trucker and this is by far the best port in Long Beach!!!!! Really really fast to terminate empty and to get a loaded container takes 30-40 mins!!! ILWU controlled ports 4-8hrs!!!!!

LOVE THIS Video and Otto's narrative is terrific. The other great thing is how they worked hand in hand with the unions and making it a better work environment for the workers...people matter in the productivity focus and ABB .
