Just a little PSA from someone who has a friend who contracted Lyme disease from a deer tick. If you remove a tick, even if it's not a deer tick and even if you were able to remove the head as well, put the tick in a ziplock bag and keep it in the freezer. That way, if you start showing signs or symptoms of Lyme disease (bullseye patterned rash, flu-like symptoms, joint pain or weak limbs), you can have the tick tested. Testing the tick will show if there were bactirium that caused Lyme disease or other tick-borne pathogens and will help your doctor settle on a treatment plan for you. Where I'm from, when we were younger, we used to just pluck the tick out and burn it. Months later, my friend is in the hospital getting treatment for Lyme disease. Stay safe out there everyone! 👍
It's also highly recommended to write down the date when you removed the tick as well, one of my cats caught a couple ticks some years back but thankfully my cat didn't show any signs of illness.
I used to be a veterinary nurse, but I haven't heard of this method of preserving the tick. I've heard of using clear scotch tape and taping the little jerk to an index card and sealing all the edges. Either way, so long as the medical professionals (veterinary or otherwise) can get a good look at it, it works. Although I've also seen lyme diagnosis based on history (active, outdoorsy pets that aren't on preventative), and treated based on that. Not sure about human medicine, though.

Hi, Gab, thanks for the content. Some interesting info, Sally's telephone number, the area code is accurate to the area this is set in. Plus, you mentioned the Dutch for 'Grandma' I think. Pennsylvania did draw a lot of Dutch families as the country was forming. You see a lot of it connected to the Amish, Lancaster, and surrounding area. You get the chirping grasshoppers at night as well. I miss that. Emily is not from Pennsylvania. That is not a typical PA accent. The 'Walking Purchase' was what established PAs borders. It's a beautiful State. And House Flipper has that cleaning up messy places as you do jobs and renovate houses (dunno if you've played). Cheers :)
Pennsylvania "Dutch" is German - Deutsch, not the Nederland. The Walking Purchase was only a triangle of land along the Delaware river. Border conflicts between PA and New York, Connecticut, Maryland went unresolved for more than a century after the Walking Purchase
Aurikatariina is the cleaning apartment channel Gab was talking about around the end of the stream. It's really nice that she cleans people's places and doesn't shame them about their mental health problems but just wants to help. ❤️
The noise that came out of me when I saw you posted this was practically feral. This is one of my favorites out of the early series! I can remember getting so spooked as a kid I slammed my laptop shut and didn’t open it again for a day.
Thank you for playing this! You truly are Nancy Drew, the way you put clues together in your mind, even read everything and say “hm” and “interesting”, it’s amazing!
This was the first ND game I ever played as a kid so it has such a special place in my heart! I love that you're giving these games the time and attention that they deserve.
This was the first Nancy Drew game I played as a kid 🥺 my aunt knew I loved dogs so she saw it and thought of me, and she and I along with my brother played through it together. And thus started our love for the whole series. Really grateful for these playthroughs because they allow me to see someone else experience these games for the first time and I live vicariously through them haha ❤
Not that this matters at all in the grand scheme of things but I grew up in an area where we also had a problem with deer mice... They look a little different than the ones that you showed (although still cute!) The problem with them is that their waste matter can give humans hantavirus, which if caught has a 40% chance of you dying... So we always use caution when dealing with any mouse poop lol I'm still paranoid anytime I see mouse droppings even though I now live in an area with no deer mice lol
I came here to comment this, as I'm a scientist who studies wild rodents! Not to scare you, but lots of mouse and other rodent species can carry hantavirus (and other nasty diseases) so keep avoiding mouse droppings!
The constant drone of cicadas, lakes, creepy forests, dilapidated houses, fishing, weird people; this is very accurate to PA 😂 Anyone else here from 215/267 area code?
More like a neighboring state with relatives who live in PA...not much different from home, though, aside from the roads only being *slightly* more repaired...
Not from that area code, but did live in PA for most of my life. Things here in this game felt very normal to me, and I was laughing while watching Gab struggle to identify birds and navigate forest paths.
They are called 'Speak-Easys', because people had to "speak easy" or speak quietly while attending. Speak-easys were created, because alcohol was illegal. So in order to not get caught, people had to be mindful of the noise. Fun fact: My grandfather was a bootlegger.
So cool to see someone else playing Nancy Drew. My brother got me into a few of the games when I was a kid and I was never too good at them, but I did enjoy the atmosphere and characters a lot. And one last thing.. Those were mouse deer. 58:07 So you weren't entirely incorrect! They're cuties.
All of Eve's Nancy Drew stream are always so chill, but when Sean comes in and is 100% the best S/O, it makes me so envious, it becomes a triple S rank wholesome stream
I played these as an adult, 20 years ago with a friend, we'd race to see who solved it first. I love your enthusiasm and reactions. Sometimes I replay them.
So pumped you’re playing this game!! While listening to all of the written dialogue I realized I would 100% listen to an audio book narrated by Gab. Soooo relaxing and cozy 💛
I love watching these while doing some craft work. So chill. 👻 I know this is old, but in case anyone else was interested, there are endangered bugs. Endangered bugs have the same protections as endangered animals and there are special rules for their habitats. We had a beautiful courtyard at my high-school. During construction, they found a cave system and a species of endangered arachnid was discovered there. The Bone Cave Harvestman (super sick name, sounds like a frickin Dark Souls monster). Specific science classes would occasionally get to use the courtyard for learning purposes, but the general student body was not allowed to go there. In 2018 they were building additions and found an even bigger cave system. I think it ended up limiting what they could build bc they had to adhere to regulations regarding endangered species. Anyway, just sharing for other weirdos whose electrified thought-meats hold masses of random info.
I love the Nancy Drew series and I’m so glad you’re playing them! I can’t wait until you play these next ones because you’re in for a treat!: Secret of the Old Clock, Secret of Shadow Ranch, Danger on Deception Island, Legend of the Crystal Skull, White Wolf of Icicle Creek, Last Train to Bluemoon Canyon, Danger by Design
My older sister would play this game when I was like 5 or something and I would get sooooo scared every night that I would have a breakdown whenever the dogs would start barking at the door at night lol, fun to watch and see it from an adult perspective now.
I love Mickey's old girlfriend haha. xD And just the perfect way to spend an evening, listening and watching you play! You're one of the few youtubers I can watch and actually have the sanity to watch for hours.

2:04:58 Because you asked... the Pinkerton Detective Agency is a private security guard and detective agency established in the United States by Scotsman Allan Pinkerton in the 1850s. They're still in business today, more than 170 years later, although they have been a subsidiary of Securitas AB (that's a name you should be familiar with, since their corporate headquarters are in Sweden) since 1999. At the height of its power, it was one of the biggest law enforcement organizations in the world, with services ranging from security guards to private military contracting. So, in the game, they had about a dozen Pinkerton agents guarding the train. 3:03:15 Speakeasies were called that because of the practice of speaking quietly about such a place in public, or when inside it, so as not to alert the police or neighbors. It's a lot easier for the police to find a secret bar when the patrons are making a lot of noise, so the patrons were told to "speak easy"; that is, to keep it quiet.
Aw, I used to play this game on the computer in my local library, back in the day. Really I just ended up getting lost in the forest a lot haha, but I remember the speakeasy... Thanks for the memories!
im glad this game has a lot of historical facts built in and thank you for taking the time to read all of the information. many of the people i know make a point of referring to our area as "former Lenape" territory" because it is important to recognize that history. I was born and raised here, this is where many of my ancestors came as immigrants. Also love this inclusion of bird calls, since I'm familiar with many of them and the sounds give me so much happiness
em's accent is very southern and not quite as accurate though. they call it Pennsyltucky but it doesn't mean actual Kentucky...the birdwatcher's accent is much more accurate
Omg perfect timing, I'm just about to go on my lunch break. I've been waiting for this one, I remember screaming my lungs out with my friends at a certain jumpscare moment. 😂 The nostalgia!

I’ve been a huge fan of Nancy Drew and these games for years (played them all multiple times when they came out). However, you reading out all of the signage and text called my attention to the fact that Moon Lake is an actual place that was only a short drive from my childhood hometown. I had NO clue I was within driving distance of a setting of a Nancy Drew game for decades, and now I have you to thank for bringing my childhood dream of being able to be in a Nancy Drew game setting to life! 😊🕵️♀️
I'm sure someone's mentioned but the tick removal advice is now a little out of date: Current advice (at least here) is to use a tick freeze spray to kill it and let it drop off or lightly brush it off once dead, since pulling with tweezers is likely to inject more nasty tick juice.
1:33:29 I did not figure it out this way. I went by birthdays, the poem, and the images on the clock. That’s fun to know. I checked out the graves again but didn’t notice a significant difference in direction, so I ignored it

Not sure if someone mentioned this yet, but I googled because I was curious as well… They are pronounced almost the same: Merriam-Webster says that bouillon should be said BOOL-yon, while bullion should be pronounced BULL-yen. But bouillon is a beef broth, like in French cuisine or bouillon soup, and bullion refers to bricks of gold, like in Fort Knox.
Let me tell you a story about how my mum scared the life out of me and my sister with one little sound. I was 11, my sister 13, and we only had room for one chair for the old desktop so we took turns sitting on the other’s lap. This game had us on EDGE, we always thought the dogs were going to get us if we spent too much outside at night. While out, in the GRAVEYARD, at NIGHT, of ALL PLACES, we heard a bark right behind us and we both jumped and screamed. Our mum had crept up on us and barked on to scare us and she couldn’t stop laughing 😭😭😭
The CCC was an amazing thing! My grandfathers and great uncles were in it. There are many trails that were made and made safer by the CCC, including at the Grand Canyon. During the Depression, it was a great way for young men to learn a trade, make a little money, and just plain survive. It also prepared them for being in the military in WWII, which is why they stopped the program. I wish they would start it again! Plenty of infrastructure needs repair, trails and facilities and roads... pay a decent wage, maybe offer it to the homeless? It would be great to have even 100,000 ppl rebuilding America.
You mean to tell me that there's no locks on the doors or windows and Sally just *let* Nancy come to her house in the haunted woods? And she just decided to dip to her aunt's house?? This seems like a set-up.
The CCC they talked about that President Roosevelt created is true! At least to what I've heard. I've seen old pictures of what the CCC looked like here in our local state park and we still have one of the fire towers and you can climb up in it just for fun. I like when ND puts real information out there. Same with the information on ticks. My husband had lyme disease before we met and he said it was the worse experience of his life, he thought he was going to die. He was only in his late 20's and he could barely walk, it basically paralyzed him. Thankfully he recovered from that but now I am extra cautious when it comes to ticks. Thanks so much for making these ND videos! You are my favorite ND playthrough person that I've watched! I love that you never played them before. It's so fun seeing them through someone's fresh eyes.
I glad to hear you pronounce Arkansas correctly. I hope your outhouse you were born in is a lot different than an outhouse here in the states. That speakeasy was pretty tidy ha ha.
In Las Vegas NV there is a mobb museum that gives a bunch of history on the mobbs in America, but the coolest part is there is a speakeasy in the basement that you have to give a password to get in. Plus they brew their own beer in it as well! It's a very cool spot to check out!

My mom told me to clear vines that were growing on the side of my trailer. She didn't say why. I pulled multiple trash bags of it off. Shortly after I had a rash that covered both arms from elbow to hands and on my legs from knees to toes. Turns out those vines were poison ivy. Never saw it before. My limbs were covered in seeping blisters before long. Took me a month to see a dermatologist, saw a General practitioner in the mean time. Even after all that time she said it was the worst reaction she ever saw. Still have scars on me. I hate outside now.

This was the first ND game I ever played as a kid so it has such a special place in my heart! I love that you're giving these games the time and attention that they deserve.
It was my first too! I never finished it because I was like 5 and some of the puzzles were a bit difficult but I remember I had so much fun with it
This was the first Nancy Drew game I played as a kid 🥺 my aunt knew I loved dogs so she saw it and thought of me, and she and I along with my brother played through it together.
So we always use caution when dealing with any mouse poop lol
I'm still paranoid anytime I see mouse droppings even though I now live in an area with no deer mice lol
I came here to comment this, as I'm a scientist who studies wild rodents! Not to scare you, but lots of mouse and other rodent species can carry hantavirus (and other nasty diseases) so keep avoiding mouse droppings!
@@girlf1end Thank you! Now I can tell my partner that I am not crazy and a scientist totally backs me up on this
Deer mice (rodents) and mouse-deer/Chevrotains are 2 different things. Yeah, definitely avoid rodent droppings.
The constant drone of cicadas, lakes, creepy forests, dilapidated houses, fishing, weird people; this is very accurate to PA 😂
Anyone else here from 215/267 area code?
I thoroughly enjoy seeing Jack pop in and give you coffee. It's adorable 😊😊😊
He’s such a sweet guy ♥️
I love that you’re doing this series! Cannot wait for you to play through Secret of Shadow Ranch 🤗
So pumped you’re playing this game!! While listening to all of the written dialogue I realized I would 100% listen to an audio book narrated by Gab. Soooo relaxing and cozy 💛
I’d love to hear her narrate some Nancy Drew books lol they’re short
Finally! Thanks Gab, I've been waiting for this since your last nancy game. Hope it will not take too long for haunted carousel
Please never stop doing the Nancy Drew games!! They're my favourite games ever and watching you play them is so relaxing
I love watching these while doing some craft work. So chill. 👻
I know this is old, but in case anyone else was interested, there are endangered bugs.
2:50:04 best phone call in all of the Nancy Drew games!! I haven't watched all of them yet, but nothing could beat those two their a riot! 🤣
I can't get enough of your ND playthroughs! There are a number of the later games that I'm very excited for you to play; I can't wait!
I love Mickey's old girlfriend haha. xD
And just the perfect way to spend an evening, listening and watching you play! You're one of the few youtubers I can watch and actually have the sanity to watch for hours.
This might be my favorite gaming series EVER. Your ND videos are so relaxing ❤️ thank you!!! Can’t wait for the next one!
Watching all these gameplay videos inspired me to pull my highschool laptop out and replay them myself! I in love with these games when I was younger! Ghost Dogs was the first one I ever played with my mom, I was hooked ❤️ Thanks for playing them!
This is one of my favorite Nancy Drew Games! So nostalgic watching you play through these!
Same. Nancy Drew was my childhood (specifically this one, the Japanese ghost one, electric one, mummy one and the one with the ranch (Not shadow Ranch the one with the spirit horse).
Also love this inclusion of bird calls, since I'm familiar with many of them and the sounds give me so much happiness
figaro figaro figaro!!! oh my god that is so amazing yyesss. the warblers, the finches the cardinals lmao that's life here
em's accent is very southern and not quite as accurate though. they call it Pennsyltucky but it doesn't mean actual Kentucky...the birdwatcher's accent is much more accurate
Omg perfect timing, I'm just about to go on my lunch break. I've been waiting for this one, I remember screaming my lungs out with my friends at a certain jumpscare moment. 😂 The nostalgia!
This is my favorite gaming series on TH-cam! I love how Chill Gabs is, and watching someone go through the games for the first time is wonderful! I can't wait for her to start getting to some of the later games too!
I love the fact that they took all Capone's story and changed the names to create this game
As someone from central Pennsylvania, it’s crazy hearing all of the names of the places in this game! Most of them are so close to me!
BUNPY! I loved this game so much as a kid. Watching Evelyn play it brought back so many memories!
Watching this with my cats beside me and they both adored the bird call section! Lots of trying to find the invisible birds in the screen :)
2:04:56 „pinkertons“…
_has rdr2 flashbacks_
I'm so happy to see you play my favorite Nancy Drew! This one is so nostalgic I'll never get tired of it
I'm sure someone's mentioned but the tick removal advice is now a little out of date: Current advice (at least here) is to use a tick freeze spray to kill it and let it drop off or lightly brush it off once dead, since pulling with tweezers is likely to inject more nasty tick juice.
Waking up at 3am. Making cereal downstairs and all a sudden hearing eerie wolf howls; that’ll wake you up!
I couldn’t stop laughing at the end when Gabby got mad at Nancy for being loud and shutting the door 😂😂😂
I'm excited for when Gab plays Crystal Skull and has to play from Bess' POV. That was so much fun to me lol
1:33:29 I did not figure it out this way. I went by birthdays, the poem, and the images on the clock. That’s fun to know. I checked out the graves again but didn’t notice a significant difference in direction, so I ignored it
Yesss I needed a 3 hour chill vibe video to watch today! Thanks Gab! 🍂
Gab, thank you so much for bringing attention to these games. They’re so underrated and mean a lot to me :)
This entire video just gave my heart a workout with how many jump scares and the music 😅
These are my favourites to watch whilst doing my coursework! so cosy, comforting and fun 🥰 excited for this one Gab, hope you’re taking care of your lovely self and as always thank you for the daily content
Not sure if someone mentioned this yet, but I googled because I was curious as well…
They are pronounced almost the same: Merriam-Webster says that bouillon should be said BOOL-yon, while bullion should be pronounced BULL-yen. But bouillon is a beef broth, like in French cuisine or bouillon soup, and bullion refers to bricks of gold, like in Fort Knox.
Love it when you play these games, I like detective games like this because it helps me to keep my brain active.
As someone who is currently being sat on by a Rottweiler, I would love to have a bar themed after my dogs lol
Jack bringing Gabs coffee really made my night
Let me tell you a story about how my mum scared the life out of me and my sister with one little sound. I was 11, my sister 13, and we only had room for one chair for the old desktop so we took turns sitting on the other’s lap. This game had us on EDGE, we always thought the dogs were going to get us if we spent too much outside at night. While out, in the GRAVEYARD, at NIGHT, of ALL PLACES, we heard a bark right behind us and we both jumped and screamed. Our mum had crept up on us and barked on to scare us and she couldn’t stop laughing 😭😭😭
As someone who lives in PA, the sound design for the woods is eerily accurate.
Best thing to bingewatch while dealing with ovarian cyst pain ugh, love your ND series esp when yoh do them with Sean 😊
When Sean brought her coffee 🥰 that was so cute
Love Nancy Drew. My daughter and I enjoy watching and hunting the items. Helps give us calm time. Oh and shout out to PENNSYLVANIA in the game. Lol
I love the editing on all of your videos, it always makes me happy when a video has fun and well done editing but isn't overdone.
"Squeakity squeakin'!" Someone likes Kronk's New Groove!! 😁🐿
I am SO happy you decided to play this one! It was my first Nancy Drew game I ever played and it used to honestly terrify me 😂
I used to love these games when I was a kid! I had this one and played it all the time. So awesome to see it now
YESSSS another Nancy Drew playthrough to watch during work!! lol. Been enjoying so many of the story-heavy games that you're playing here!
Ty just played this with my 4yr old she loved it. I wish Her went back to this format.
This has been one of the best Nancy Drew games you've played. I love this stuff so much. Thank you!
I’m going through a really rough breakup and seeing this on my feed is the highlight of my week 🥺 tysm gab
I hope your heart finds comfort and that you'll be well soon 💕
In Las Vegas NV there is a mobb museum that gives a bunch of history on the mobbs in America, but the coolest part is there is a speakeasy in the basement that you have to give a password to get in. Plus they brew their own beer in it as well! It's a very cool spot to check out!
idk why, but i just cant' keep myself off these goofy Nancy Drew games.. i love seeing ya'll puzzling together in stream and before long, i come to fancy this pelicular world of Nancy's.
And seeing Goobers so invested in this, is so cute too. Thank you for this entertainment!
Ooh Lyme disease.. My little sister got it from a tick as a child, fortunately it was quickly taken care of but it's a very weird disease I do remember seeing a red spot moving on her back. I was very scared!
Love to enjoy a new Nancy Drew game! I wonder how long it will take for Gab to do them all!!
I thought there was no cure to Lyme disease, did they just catch it quick enough or something?
@@mori6434 I think it's because we noticed really quickly yeah. I don't know if there is no cure at a latter stage but I know for sure my lil sis got it and got cured quickly!
This was one of the first Nancy Drew games I ever played. I was in 3rd grade and this game used to scare me so much but I loved it!
I love these videos! I used to play these games with my mom when I was younger. The nostalgia is definitely real when watching these!
This one is my nostalgic favorite! Loving the Nancy Drew series 💜🖤 💜🖤
I used to love these games as a kid. Loved watching this.
This was one of my first two mysteries from Nancy Drew PC Games! So excited that you played it!
OMG YES, Gab playing Nancy Drew is the best thing to wake up to
